Jeff Zerrer at Continental Mortgage Corporation was very helpful and punctual throughout the process of applying for and getting approved for our home loan. He took time to answer our questions, which, as first-time homebuyers were many! He was also very responsive in handling our application and in our communications with the lender. We spoke to a couple of other loan originators on the phone prior to applying through Continental Mortgage, and Jeff Zerrer was by far the most professional, helpful, and informed of the people we spoke with. I would recommend anyone I know to Continental Mortgage.

Through thick and thin, sticky points, postal problems, etc, Jeff was on top of the problem and resolved it often before I even knew the problem existed.  And he did the whole process in record time.

Refinance went through fine. A few bumps along the way but Jeff kept us up to date on the process and we ended up refinancing on time.

As of September 2013, I made the decision to purchase real estate for the first time in my life.  I am self-employed (I own my own company) and that ended up generating additional hurdles that we needed to clear that a person with a more typical income source wouldn't have to deal with.
Due to the hurdles that I had to deal with, we didn't close on the property until April 2014, seven months later.
Over the full *seven months*, Jeff was extremely informative, patient and helpful with me.  To be honest, I was extremely overwhelmed by the financing process since it was all new to me - Jeff took his time with me over several phone calls and emails to really make sure I understood what needed to happen and answer my questions.
When it came time to finally get our loan, there were setbacks... setbacks that caused us to abandon our original application due to requirements that we couldn't meet (the cause was due to issues about the condo building that we didn't discover until late in the process).
Jeff very quickly found a solution and saved the whole deal.  I can't convey how professional, knowledgeable and skilled Jeff was when it mattered most -- even my real estate attorney thought the deal was going to fall apart, but Jeff found a solution and saved us.
If you are looking to get a mortgage at a good rate, go with Jeff.  I am completely, totally and thoroughly thrilled that I chose Jeff to work with and I will be working with him again later this year when I buy more real estate.

Jeff Zerrer assisted me with a complex residential loan refinancing.  Jeff ?hit the ground running? within minutes of my first phone call with an emailed list of refinancing document requirements and a game plan. 
I felt comfortable with Jeff from my initial telephone contact to closing.  He was always available by phone or email and immediately responded to my questions.  He kept me informed throughout the entire process.  I felt that I had an advocate every step of the way from application to closing.

Mortgage refinancing is a complicated, detailed and exacting process. We took a stab at it without a broker and realized that it was like  shopping for brain surgery in the Yellow Pages.  We were sold on Continental Mortgage Corporation by the large number of glowing reviews on Angie's List even though the brokerage was on the opposite side of Florida from us.  From the beginning of the process with Jeff Zerrer at Continental, it was clear that the Angie's List plaudits were well deserved.  
    Jeff was professional but engaging and down-to-earth.  He patiently and without condescension explained all the various aspects of the application procedure, the application itself, and our various options.  It seemed that he and his document processor Marcia were on the job 24/7 since he immediately responded to my e-mails at all hours and documents were prepared and sent out during the weekend.  With Jeff's gentle prodding, I invested in an inexpensive All-in-One machine so that I could scan and e-mail documents in order to keep up with him (in today's world, everything is handled electronically). 
    Once he placed the loan with a lender, Jeff worked closely with us, the lender, and our closing agent to ensure that the loan was closed before the locked-in interest rate expired.  At closing, the agent was impressed that Jeff had arranged the loan so that the lending rate and the APR were almost identical indicating that obtaining the loan had cost us almost nothing.
    In summary, Jeff Zerrer knows how to work with people, knows his profession, and has the expertise to achieve the best results.

I got  Jeff's name from Angie's List, and I'm glad I did!    He was extremely professional and helpful every step of the way.  He willingly explained the process to me in detail that I could understand.  I ended up refinancing at a lower interest rate while combining two loans, resulting in a savings for me.   I give Jeff 5 stars!

From start to finish, Jeff Zerrer was a class act.  Despite the fact that there was more work involved for Jeff, he encouraged us to take out a VA loan, which we did.  We got the lowest interest rate and with each requirement that the VA needed, Jeff complied.  He kept us in the loop at all times, and dealt with our irritation (not because of anything for which he was responsible) in a way that only a saint could do.  There were several occasions where we were only available to talk to Jeff in the evening and he graciously spent what should have been his personal time, talking to us, explaining things and making suggestions.  There was not a single problem and our closing went like clockwork - amazing given how hard it is to refinance these days.  Jeff embodies ethics and integrity and goes above and beyond for clients.  I would highly recommend Jeff not just in the professional sense, but also as a devoted dad to his dogs.

I called Jeff after doing extensive research on Angie's list.  I was impressed by his reviews and he more than exceeded my expectations. From my initial phone call to get a qualification letter to closing day, Jeff always made himself available to answer any questions I had and I had a lot of questions!  Yes I closed on time.  No extensions needed!  He explained some confusing forms and never made me feel as if I was bothering him.  Jeff assured me that the amount I was qualified for was a true number and I could feel comfortable searching for a home in that price range.  He was right, no problems with underwriting.  Jeff made me aware of each and ever step in the process.  His great service was extended to my realtor and title company. 
I closed on time about a month ago. I can't thank Jeff and Continental Mortgage enough.  I will definitely give them a call again and refer my closest friends and family.  Thank you for a pleasant experience and for getting me into my home!

After starting and then bailing out of the refinance process because of 'surprises' two previous times with two different companies, we found Continental Mortgage on Angies List. I wish we had found them first!
I'm going to cut to the chase here and give you the meat of what it is you read reviews for:
- Jeff Zerrer is very knowledgeable but never condescending.

• - Jeff Zerrer is a Straight Arrow. Jeff is one of the most professional and ethical people we have ever dealt with in any kind of business transaction. And taking into consideration the time and complexities involved in getting a refi these days, I think that is saying a lot.
• - Jeff seems to be genuinely interested in providing a positive experience for his clients. Look, we're all in business to make money and I assume Jeff is as well. But the thing is, throughout the whole process with Continental Mortgage you feel as though you and Jeff are 'on the same team', working towards the common goal of getting your refi done in the smoothest, most cost-effective manner.

• - Throughout the sometimes-arduous refi process we felt as if Jeff were our 'point man', suggesting a game plan and going to bat for us with the appraisers and underwriters to not only "git 'er done", but to forge results that were the most advantageous for us. For example, when our appraisal came in HIGHER than the estimate, the lender took issue with the number. Jeff dealt with the head of appraisals at the bank and ordered a 'field appraisal' - which he paid for out of his own pocket. The field appraisal matched the original appraisal and we were good to go.

All in all, we would use Jeff and Continental Mortgage again in a heartbeat, and recommend him highly. We don't think you can do better.

I called Jeff (I found him on Angie's list) to inquire about helping me arrange a mortgage for my townhome, he was extremely proffesional I explained I did not have an easy deal so he took a look and said he could help. I could not have picked a better man for the job, he was extremely profeesional and he didn't quit till he got the mortgage approved and closed. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I can't say enough about how great it was to work with them. From start to finish, they were courteous, responsive and willing to take the time to patiently explain every step of the process. It took less than four weeks from start to finish and I lowered my mortgage payment by about $330.00 per month. The process was very smooth but you do need to be prepared to provide alot of documentation. It sure is not like the old days when all you had to do was sign your name.
They were always available to respond to my calls and emails-even on nights and weekends. In fact, I initially statrted to refinance with my existing lender but they were so unresponsive that I decided to try Angie's List and called Continental.
I would definitely recommend them and I can honestly say they were one of the most professional companies I have ever dealt with. Not only were they professional and knowledgeble, they were also really nice people.

Through Angies list we found Jeff Zerer of Continental Mortgage. Jeff took us through the process and within six weeks we were able to refi at a much lower rate with a savings of around 3%. Jeff was always up front with us and always available when needed.

While the mortgage refinancing process can be lengthy and confusing, Jeff was very helpful throughout the entire application and closing process.  Jeff  and his staff were responsive and always available to clarify any questions from start to finish.
Additionally, interest rates dropped during the application process and Jeff proactively adjusted our rate to reflect the lower market rates.
