This is tough since I have bought and sold so many homes in Brevard, FL, over the past 25 years, but Ken and Crew have worked on all of them.
The last time they visited (Aug 2013) is after I purchased a new home and had a FPL Energy Survey done. (BTW, best $30 I ever spent.) FPL found that all of my mastic/glue needed replaced where the ducts meet the ceilings vents. This was not a surprise for 30+ year home. Of course, I hired Hand M to do the work, but after they pulled the first air duct line they found that it was full of rat poison. They checked the rest of the duct feeds and all were full of poison, too. The pellets were sent off for testing, verified later that they were indeed rat poison, and confirmed that breathing the fumes could cause neurological problems. Sadly, the 62-yr-old woman that sold me the home had been battling with doctors for a root cause of her declining health. MS was considered, but not confirmed.
Of course, I had Ken replace ALL of the existing duct feeds, but I am not sure that another contractor would have cared that much. They could have easily just glued the ducts right back to the ceiling vents as I requested.
My daughter and son-in-law purchased a new HVAC unit/install from Ken last year. That now makes us a four-generation family that highly regards Ken and his team at Hand M.

It took two visits, one to get the unit working and one to fix all the other problems. They were quite thorough, prompt to respond and punctual. I would use them again and refer them. They are very nice people.

First Unit, a 2 Ton unit for my Office and exercise room, failed and the owner of Hand M Sales and Service was on-site to isolate the cause within 2 hours! A failed Air Handler Motor coupled with heavy corrosion damage to the exterior heat exchanger fins made repair uneconomical in my mind. The option to repair or replace was presented in a professional and pragmatic manner with absolutely no sales pressure. Since the heat pump was 11 year old, it was uneconomical to pour money into it because of the heavy corrosion damage on the heat exchanger fins -- we live on a brackish water canal. The replacement was initiated and quickly completed; however, I discovered that a second unit, the downstairs 4 Ton Heat Pump, had not been working properly and all cooling during the replace time had been handled by a third large upstairs unit, a 5 Ton Heat Pump. When called at 4:30PM Friday to , the owner of Hand M, Ken, was at my door step at 8:00AM Saturday morning. There was no Freon and a heavy Freon leak was isolated to the compressor in the outside heat exchanger. The repair crew on Monday found that the compressor motor was burned up and high pressure blow out plugs had been blown. For a second time, it was a no brainer due to obvious and extensive corrosion damage to the outside unit. In summary, both heat pumps were replaced (with no sales pressure what so ever). The onsite crews were friendly, professional and cleanup was complete after the work was done. The work crews explained the operation of the new units and Ken took care of all rebate applications and provided forms for the Federal energy tax credit. All work was done to my satisfaction and I couldn't be any happier. The owner Ken is a great person to work with and he one of the few remaining Merritt Islanders who does business the old way -- on a hand shake! Ken is a businessman, one of the few remaining, who stands by his word and expects the same in return. It was refreshing to work with him and it is a pleasure doing business with a true professional!

Problem correction took about 3 hours with one trip to obtain replacement Humidistat Thermostat. As always they were knowledgeable, friendly and honest. This is one of the good guys you can trust.

I couldn't have been happier with the work that was done. The initial repair tech identified the problem and requested that the owner come and determine if the mold problem could be corrected. Ken, the owner, discussed the options available to me and showed me exactly what the problem was and how it was created, i.e. insufficient return air duct area for the size of the unit installed by Able Air. The crews were knowledgeable, friendly and worked hard to correct a serious mold problem in the duct work. They corrected the defective work performed by Able Air that resulted in runaway mold in the ductwork. The mold was black, nasty and caused problems with both my wife's and my health. The mold problem was corrected.

They showed up to find the problem. They left to get a part and said they would return later to install it. A week later I had the same problem. I called them back. They said someone would be right over. 5 hours later they showed up. I had already called someone else to fix the job. I will never use this company again. They are not very professional or dependable.
