I am extremely satisfied with his work and have used him for 8 to 10years without a problem. He has done work on other friends houses and co-ops with the same outcome.
I believe that you get what you pay for and don't believe you should always go with the lowest bidder. You need to look at the scoop of work and the end result. Things often cost more than what one thinks they should which is why it is important to compare apples to apples. Recently, I looked at porcelaine tiles at Home Depot and compared them to tiles I had seen at tile place in the Bronx. The difference between the two tiles is 1/4and quot; in thickness and one comes from China and the other from Spain. Side by side the difference was glaringly obvious to me but not before I compared them. The labor to install them is the same so i opted to go with the better tile which cost an extra $500 for a 500'sg ft space,
My house is always clean when his guys leave, the guys where uniforms and are polite. I can leave them in my home while I work and do not have to worry that something might go missing or be damaged while I am not home. My father was a contractor so I have a good idea of what to expect but it also makes me pickier and more difficult to please. I have not been disappointed.
I have not provided a dollar amount but I have spent well over $35,000 in the past few years.

In the summer of 2009 we employed Freddie Von Mach (Von Mach Painting and Contracting, Inc., 3 Church Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801) to paint the outside of our house. Within a couple of months the corking started cracking and splitting, resulting in unsightly strips of unpainted white corking which stood out between the dark brown wood siding. I contacted Mr. Von Mach who told me he was aware of the problem and that he would and ldquo;fix the problemand rdquo; towards the end of summer. He also assured me that and ldquo;I am a man of my wordand rdquo; and that I should not be concerned. Unfortunately he did not live up to his word. After numerous and lsquo;phone calls over the ensuing YEAR and beyond, and his initial assurances that he would return to fix the problem, he stopped answering my calls. I eventually gave up and had to have the entire house repainted and re-corked within 2 years of Von Mach's initial work (at significant expense).

von Mach Inc painted the front of our Manhattan brownstone in 2010. At the completion of that job, we arranged that they would paint the back in 2011. At the time for the painting of the back of the house, we found we needed a new fence on one side of the property and Freddie von Mach gave us an estimate for that as well. The two projects followed one after the other.
We were very pleased with the job they did on the front of the house and felt confident the back would be as smooth and efficient, and it was. Freddie inspected the job almost every day and was on top of all the work. He inspected the front and found some spots he thought should be done over after the year past and these were done with no extra charge. The men were prompt, efficient, and worked long hours. Every day they cleaned up beautifully before they left and we appreciated that.
The fence presented a problem Freddie had not foreseen as the drain in our neighbor's garden was blocked and in a rainstorm, his runoff overwhelmed our drain, causing a lot of water in the basement. Freddie investigated, found places in the lower back wall of the house that needed patching and noted that our downspout was fractured, contributing to the pond in the back garden. He was Freddie on the Spot, organizing his men to sort all our water problems with imagination and care. He came up with an ingenious idea for a baffle with shower liner material, wood and a trench to insure that no water from our neighbor's would sneak under the new fence.
All in all a superb experience and I would recommend von Mach for any job. They appear to be capable of just about anything.

Two men showed up on time both days, worked steadily throughout both days. Cleaned up after both days. Overall quality of work was outstanding. Very professional. Will definitely use Von Mach again.

First: from the wife's point of view: "Absolutely fantastic job. Our house is a brownstone that had not been painted in years. We got four estimates and Von Mach was not the lowest, but we thought Freddy Mach had a real handle on what the house needed when he examined it and that his team would be able to bring the house back to its glory. And so we chose his company. From the minute we agreed to go with them, they couldn't have been more 'on the job' or more forthcoming about what they needed from us. In short we felt that Wendy and Freddy back at the company and Javier and Nicky on the job (with more hands added as they needed them) were not only totally on our side, but also interested in making the house look as beautiful as it could be. Nicky and Javier showed up at approximately the same time each day, told us when they would be going for lunch, rang the doorbell to ask questions, kept us informed, worked very hard each day and cultivated a lively interest in the house and their work on it. No nightmare problems arose. It turned into a win-win project all round. At the end of the day, they left the area looking as if they had not been there at all (the only clue being the half-painted house.) They were meticulously neat and clean. Another nice thing: if they saw something we hadn't seen, like painting the front courtyard gray to cover the fact that it will be an eyesore until we have it repaired, they suggested doing it. In short, we would hire them again in a heartbeat. After all, there's always next spring and the back of the house to do!" Now for the husband's turn: It is a great pleasure to write a testimonial for Von Mach Painters and Contractors. They were among four candidates for the job of painting our brownstone, which had not been painted for ten years. Von Mach's estimate was not the lowest but it seemed to both my wife and myself unquestionably the most realistic and sensible. The two consistent daily visitors were Nicky and Javier. What struck me at once was their promptness, efficiency and utter professionalism. Both are painters par excellence and their daily routine a pleasure to watch. They hung no scaffolding but used enormously tall ladders to reach the fouth story. Preparatory work proceeded at once before restoration of the surface began. As the facade was restored and resurfaced where necessary, the image that emerged more than justified our preference for the Von Mach estimate. This was a quality job, beautifully realized with consummate skill and care. Bravo,Von Mach! I like to think that many of our neighbors who passed by took note of your name which I suspect will lead to more business for Von Mach; you certainly deserve it.

They were here early in the morning and worked till four. They were very professional-- very courteous and cleaned up after themselves every day that they were here. Our job took about a week and it would have been done sooner if we hadn't had such hot weather. On those two days--they didn't come but I couldn't fault them for that. Those days were 98 degree days. I will use them again for my next project.

We were very pleased. The men worked incredibly hard and the quality of the work was excellent. In addition, they were a pleasure to work with and were very, very responsive.

HE EXTENDED HIMSELF TO DO THE BEST JOB HE POSSIBLY COULD. IF HE SAW SOMETHING ADDITIONAL THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE, HE JUST DID IT AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME. THEY WERE THINGS LIKE THE CORNERS THAT WE WEREN'T PAINTING. HE JUST CAME IN WITH SOME PASTE AND CLEANED IT UP. IT WAS JUST REALLY GOOD.
