Tripod aluminum

Delays, serious errors, do-overs, and all the while no communication from the company including the salesperson and the "boss" until and unless we initiated it, including having to go to their office to get answers!  Told at the outset that Tripod treats customers like they were family. What we experienced was them being non-responsive; so it must be a dis-functional family. A screen porch project that was contracted to take "weeks" turned into months.  The boss said he was not ready to discuss any type of discount, so we took it upon ourselves to reduce the final payment by what we felt was reasonable. That brought a letter from Tripod's lawyer.

Pool cage/enclosure looks good, built sturdy. Hidden damage found about 6 months later (Sept) when noted a leak on inside of gutter and soffit. Found several more. Contacted Tripod regarding this issue and very slow follow up, had to send several emails to get a response. Pulled soffit at worst area and noted this was old damage (mold) in Dec. In Feb had Total Home construction get started on repairs and found all other leaks were caused by gutter being forced up into the drip edge and bending them up. Had entire drip edge replaced with roof repairs due to leaks.

Installed screen enclosure for my new pool in the summer of 2003. 11 yrs. later still in great shape. Went through 3 hurricanes no problem. I highly recommend them.

Tripod sent someone on March 7, 2014 to measure and give estimate. I contracted through Home Depot.  I was told it would be completed in approximately 6 weeks. I called Tripod after 4 weeks to check on progress. All they say is "It's in engineering.". I tried to get them to put this on a Home Improvement loan but they did not do as I asked. They've charged my credit card for $2371. That was April 11. I keep getting total run around from the. Today is April 22. 6 weeks was on April 18. My calls since then are the same run around. Marlene says she'll call back and never does. They have no direct answers. I went to Home Depot today and Tripod told them the same thing but that it would not get done until late May!! I've requested this be cancelled as I am not ok waiting that long after be very patient for over 6 weeks already. Home Depot informed just informed me that I will be charged fees and will let me know how much. I am a crippled senior citizen. My treatment by Tripod was that of "just some old lady".  I will no longer deal with Home Depot or Tripod Aluminum.

Contacted them mid march to try to get someone to call me to talk about getting an estimate on a repair to my pool's screened enclosure.  2 weeks later I finally get a call, I miss the call and they don't leave a message. I looked up the number and it was them.  I called them back saying I JUST missed a call (2min) from them and get "oh it must have been a wrong number".  I told the woman - well I did contact you a few weeks ago to try to get an estimate on some enclosure repair - maybe someone there just tried to call me? - Well let me take your info, so I provide my name/phone again.  She says well we are 3-4 weeks out for anything - I am in no rush so let me know....
It will be $60/hour per guy for us to come provide an estimate.
I asked - you are really going to charge me to get an estimate?
Yes...
I said thanks - but I'll take my business elsewhere.
This is the ONLY one so far that has wanted to charge for an estimate - when the website says - contact us for an estimate.
Short Version.
2-3 Weeks to call back (Really must be slammed huh)
Want to charge for the estimate  (Absurd)
Then...2-3 Weeks to get to your work - (thats fine)

I feel their product is fine and seems to be of quality but just feel their customer service is not good.  I have called a couple of times to speak to them because they are still working on my project and called on 6/28 and still have not heard anything back after being told they would be in contact with me.

They were the most honest regarding what they would provide.  They measured on Friday, and then they pre-built sections in their area and brought it out.  On Tuesday, they installed it.  They got the services I was looking for pretty quickly.  On Thursday, the job was completed.  They were done in just less than a week.  Their job was absolutely beautiful.  They worked with us on how we wanted it.  I highly recommend them.
