middle priced quote, as he seemed professional and more than qualified for the
job. On day one he arrived late and didn't complete nearly as much as we
anticipated mainly because he had other jobs he was doing and didn't stay long,
delegating the work to a poorly trained new employee. Every day was like this,
an hour here an hour there, delays with topsoil, delays with sod. Also, while
doing the job, his bobcat left ruts in the yard which he wasn't planning on
fixing. It took a lot of persuading to get him to roll and fill the worst areas.
End result, the palmettos are gone and the sod is down. Instead of 2 days it took a week.
There are all kinds of ridges in the yard that weren't there before and the
edges of the sod were laid on top of the old grass, with no attempt to blend it
to the rest of the yard, leaving bumps. Needless to say mowing is not fun. Joe
is right though, it will all blend in eventually but until next year it's not
like a newly planted yard should be.
I won't hire this contractor again and can't recommend
him for anything more than what the good reviews were about, basic yard cleanup
fine
