Live in Brevard Co. & have a leaking water pipe which seems to indicate that your property is due for re-piping? Call Doug Herrell Plumbing! I did and couldn't have been better served! This is a smoothly operated family business, now specializing in re-piping. Doug and his crew are very experienced tradesmen. Furthermore, from my initial contact throughout the process, Doug & Amy Herrell were efficient, clear, responsive, and friendly, answering my every question. The Herrells and their other expert plumbers conducted themselves in a professional and respectful yet pleasant, neighborly demeanor. Doug's price was SIGNIFICANTLY less than the bids I'd been given by two other plumbing companies. The final cost matched the estimate and was paid upon completion of the job, whereas the other two companies would have required an advance of $2000 or $2250 prior to beginning work. Additionally, whereas one company told me that the job would take about two days and another company said that it could take up to three days, Doug Herrell and crew spent less than five hours from arrival to completion! This old house is approximately 1500 sq. ft. with two bathrooms, one kitchen, and a laundry room. My attic, where the PEX was laid and dropped from, of course, is a crawl space attic. The worker assigned to THIS job worked in stifling heat and did so perfectly with nary a complaint! On the fly, a re-routing decision was made regarding the piping to the kitchen sink. Although I had emptied my belongings from every area I'd understood work was to be done, I didn't anticipate this altered strategy--the route to the kitchen sink. No problem--a worker politely, without complaint, carefully removed (setting aside) the 3 drawers that I had not. Doug worked with four men in a strategic manner: workers coordinated in a systematic manner, each focusing on their assigned tasks according to Doug's knowledgeable direction and assistance. The cross-linked polyethylene PEX for potable hot and cold water that they use is Viega PureFlow, which has favorable reviews online. Viega's warranty is for 10 years. Doug and his crew finished with insulating foam pipe sleeves and fire-resistant foam to fill voids. Their labor is "guaranteed" for one year. The work included installation of a new shut-off service valve (re-positioning the point of entry for water from the meter into the house), a new expansion device on my water heater, a new clothes washing machine outlet box and stainless steel hoses (vs. another plumber's bid instructing the homeowner to supply same), new shutoff valves and supply tubes under all sinks and toilets, replaced hose bibs outside the house and installed an ADDITIONAL new spigot (hose bib) via a pipe drilled through the concrete block, with my permission--something I certainly didn't expect (but have been enjoying) and for which there was NO extra charge. All of Doug Herrell Plumbing's work not only (a)replaced copper pipes (which had sprung at least 4 leaks over recent years, apparently due to nearing copper's AVERAGE lifespan and, as I understand it, due to being damaged even further by pitting of pipes under the foundation caused by pebbles in our sand plus by our hard water causing pitting in the copper pipes in the walls), but was so professionally completed that (b)other critical issues were brought up to current code. The City Permit was included in the total price (vs. another plumber's bid adding the permit cost as extra for about $93.75 and the third plumbing company stating that they do not pull permits as required by City statute--omission of which can result in significantly increased costs and delays, etc.) and was expedited completely by Amy, Doug's wife and business partner. Amy arranged with the City for inspection (vs. another plumber having told me that such would be my responsibility) and notified me when to expect the City inspector (the following day). Amy had also handled the "Notice of Commencement" document (vs. another plumber stating that it would be up to us to take that to the Brevard Clerk of Courts). The work by Doug Herrell Plumbing was SO "up to snuff" that the City inspector was in and out in a flash! Immediately thereafter, the drywall repair expert that they recommended worked through the afternoon to expertly patch up the plumbing holes that had been left open for the City inspector. I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Snyder! Not only did he labor hard the day after the re-piping work, having reserved that day for this house, but he'd come out the day before to consult with Doug and review every hole that would need to be patched. This old house has plaster throughout; Doug's crew accessed the walls by cutting the plaster as cleanly as possible. Jeff repaired the holes with plaster, demonstrating expertise and craftsmanship but charging no more than he would have if using drywall; Jeff's price was quoted at the same time as Doug's re-piping estimate had been once I stated that, indeed, I'd like to hire Jeff to patch the walls. The entire re-piping process (with paperwork and phone calls handled by Amy Herrell) couldn't have been more efficient--plumbers for a half day, inspection the following morning, thorough patching of walls by expert Jeff that same day, AND minimal debris left by workers (Doug's crew as well as Jeff used tarps plus swept up after themselves)! Excellent results at the lowest price!

Doug and his team did a phenomenal job of replumbing our entire house in converting from copper under slab.

It did not go well. He came in with a very combative attitude and said we were combative when just asking questions of how it could be fixed. Told us to call another plumber & walked out. I would never recommend him to anyone

To Doug, time is money, so not only is he the best, but he works in a most timely fashion. He is in and out, not wasting any time and the finished product is top quality. He uses only the best products. So, not only did I get a new toilet, but it was a nice upgrade to my bathroom. He also took the old toilet away and made sure everything was clean when he left. You can't go wrong with Doug. I have used him for over 20 years and I wouldn't trust my plumbing needs to anyone else.

They were awesome, in and out in one day, clean, polite, could not have been happier.

They brought in a crew large enough to finish the job in a half day.  Others who provided estimates for the job, indicated it would take two or more days. They were very creative in planning the routing of the pipes with minimal drywall repair needed. The crew completely cleaned up after themselves.

For the estimate: They showed up on time, and did a quick walk through of the house.
For the work: They showed up promptly at 8:00am ready to get to work. They started with a walk thought where they discussed what they were going to do. They were very efficient in completing the job, plus installing new internal parts for the toilets that had been damaged from the old leak and repositioning an existing water filter which we had just stuffed inside our wall. The entire job which included hooking up the kitchen, washroom, two bathrooms, and two external water spigots took only 4.5 hours. They cleaned up after they were done, walked me through what changes/repairs they had made, and tested all the fixtures to make sure everything was working properly before leaving.

Had a slab leak in our home. Contacted Doug's business. He paid a visit to our home on a Monday. Booked for a Saturday for the repipe. He and his assistants arrived early in the morning and worked until evening to complete the job in one day. He did a great job at a fair price and was very professional. All of his work is guaranteed. I would recommend Doug to anyone!

Everything was completed in 1 day. I can not tell I had the house re-piped. Looks just like it did before. NO odd ball fittings, out of place pipes or anything, GREAT JOB... Highly recommended...

I priced out my house to have it re-plumbed. I have an old home, so the plumbing was going to have to go through the roof. Every other co. I called told me it would take 3 days and cost $3,500 - $5,000.00. Doug Herrell did the whole house in one day and only charged me $2,980.00.

They arrived on time, did the work, let me know if there were any problems along the way.

He was higher priced then the other two bids we got but because he talked up the product and his service we decided to go with them. He told us that the holes in the walls would be small and there was only going to be minimal damage. In the end they about tore out an entire wall in the spare bathroom. The finish work was terrible, with lines coming out the wall pointing every which direction and holes so large the cover plates would not cover them. We called them back but got no where. I ended up spend a weekend straightening pipes, cutting off the old copper pipes that extended out up to 3/4" and filling holes that were oversized. We had a leak in the shower because they forgot to put teflon take on the fitting. We had to have them come back when the kitchen remolding began to re-route a line that was incorrect for the kitchen. Doug made a smart aleck remark to my wife, she had to leave the house to avoid a confrontation. When I showed him the issues we were dissatisfied with, he dismissed them and acted as if it was our problem.

I called to get an estimate and they were down within a day. After getting other estimates we had Herrell Plumbing do the job. They told us it would take a day. Other companies told us it would take 2-3 days. The men from Harrell were at our home before 8 AM and the whole job was finished by 2 PM. They installed 2 additional faucets on the outside of the house and installed a new shower faucet, all included in the price. They cleaned up the mess and recommended someone to come and patch the walls. There was an additional price of $450 for this service and it was worth it to me.
