Called Dave on a Wednesday and he scheduled us for 2pm the next day. He called to verify the time about 2 hours ahead of the appointment to see if there were any changes in plans (which there weren't) and showed up at exactly 2pm. Came in diagnosed the issue and removed the ballast & replaced the lights with the LED replacements. Very happy with his service and would recommend him to others that need residential service.

We have used Dave for several years. He was recommended to us by our previous neighbors. Dave is always responsive, professional, on-time, attentive, and just plain terrific! We highly recommend Dave for any electrical job you may have.

Dave did a great job. Came out right away and fixed the GFCI issue immediately. Came back 2 days later to add a new line of electricity to bedroom with treadmill and replace bathroom light fixture. Was done quickly and job done well.

The lights on one side of our Master Bath were not turning on. "No  big  deal,' we thought, assuming that it was probably due to something  simple. We determined that it was not due to bad bulbs or a blown fuse on our own.  At that point, we realized that we would need an electrician to help.  We are new to this area, and this was the first time that we have had need of an electrician.  Based on other reviews here on Angie's list, we decided to try Dave McCoy Electric.  Mr. McCoy was available for an appointment on the same day that we contacted him.  He arrived on time, and he was very professional.  The source of the problem was not immediately obvious, and he did the necessary "sleuthing" and troubleshooting to track it down.  After searching for a while, Mr. McCoy discovered the cause of the issue: a loose wire in an outlet that was hidden from view (behind furniture) in a completely different room. We hadn't previously smelled anything burning or melting, so we were quite shocked when he showed us the damaged outlet. (We were shocked and horrified, as it seemed evident that if the outlet had not been discovered and repaired, then it is likely that a fire would have eventually ensued).  Mr. McCoy made the needed repair.  Our bathroom lights now work, and, more importantly, the damaged, potentially hazardous outlet was replaced.  We were very pleased with Mr. McCoy's work, and we will definitely contact him again should we need an electrician in the future. 

He did a fantastic job. He gave me a great price, was fast and totally reliable. Even my two dogs were convinced he was great...he came with treats for them!!! I give Dave rave reviews for a job well done!!!

Dave is very professional and works quickly.  He is all business.   He did very good work, and his quote was very reasonable...I should also mention his charge was exactly what he quoted.  The job was complete in less than 2 hours.

Dave McCoy is an experienced electrician, and he isolated a problem that we NEVER could have found ourselves. After a storm, our GFCI outlets weren't working, and Dave investigated and found the reason. A previous owner of the house had installed several extra outlets in the garage and a junction box in the attic.  The wires were loose and poorly connected. In only an hour, Dave fixed the problem. Amazing work, and he charged us only $99.  We're happy!  Everything works now!

lWithout sounding like he were pushing anything, Dave showed me how the tabs should not be loose (rocking) inside the circuit breaker box and then explained about why my 1958 Federal Pacific Electric circuit breaker box may be unsafe and about their history in court.  He encouraged me to read more online, which I absolutely did.
I especially appreciated that Dave was very accommodating when I phoned him.  I wasn't explaining myself too well, and he was patient and kindly suggested that it sounded like I needed someone to come look at the issue.  I asked for a late afternoon time, and he arrived the next day right on the dot.  He was efficient and easy. 
Dave fixed my problem but only billed me for a service call!
When I suddenly remembered that I had intended to ask for one other minor thing (to check that my outlets in this old house were TRULY groundedI), he quite willingly did so, showing me the reading on the meter.  For this he did NOT add any further charge to the invoice.

Prompt and courteous. Dave returned my  phone call quickly. Scheduled a reasonable time to arrive. He arrived on time and took care of everything we asked. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Dave was prompt and very courteous. He explained the problem was not the light fixture but the actual fluorescent screw in bulb and demonstrated this to be so. I had burnt out wiring on my cooktop for one of the heating elements, for which I had been
recomended to purchase a new cooktop by the dealer ($455). Dave fixed the problem with a new connector in no time and everything is working like new. So my light works and I can see to use my cooker, which also now works - all for $99.

He arrived punctually at the designated time and found that he would be able to do the work right then and there (if it was ok with me)  to which I agreed and work was promptly and neatly done.   I would definitely contact him again for any electrical work and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.  Thanks Dave.
