Better Septic A

Saturday service call for a non-emergency septic pumping. Dennis arrived on time, a few minutes early actually. Very polite and easy to work with. I asked a ton of questions (first time home owner, first time septic pumping) and I never got the impression that he was annoyed. I watched the entire process out of curiosity and thought that his work was very thorough. The service cost was a few dollars more than a couple other companies that I contacted, but A Better Septic came recommended from a friend, and they did not disappoint. Thanks.

ABS was the first septic business to be able to come to our house in an emergency. Many of the competitors were very pleasant on the phone but were not able to respond as promptly and had higher prices.

I called and spoke to Aaron the office manager telling her I was in trouble but had a specific budget. She then spoke to her boss and other plumbers to help me get an idea what service I may or may not need. When I had checked the main line myself, as it would save me some money, and with my results I called back to have them come to my house and help me check the lines professionally. Dennis came out, we ran water and checked the main line again and with his honest opinion we did see that the clog had passed through. I appreciated the extra help with the diagnostic as I am not a plumber. It was well worth spending the money. I was very happy that in explaining my situation they took one step beyond and helped me and I did not have work done that was not needed. I was fortunate in this situation but I would call them again and know they are doing the right thing.


I was confused as to why after calling about a clogged pipe, and leaving the service man in my bathroom alone while "I" ran outside to see if the water was running through the pipe to the septic, all of a sudden this guy was talking about my toilet being wobbly. WHAT!!! I HAVE BEEN HERE 7 YEARS WITHOUT A PROBLEM WITH MY TOILET. He said it may have a broken flange and would reset the toilet for $175.00. I didn't ask about the toilet or had any problems with the toilet. But I did after he left. The calking around the bottom of the toilet was ripped, wasn't before he came. I sat down and the toilet fell and wobbled off to the side.
I was also able to hear his conversation with his boss, his voice booming through the cell phone about if the service guy gave me prices for snaking the line, for any repair for anything, and the service guy was turning red trying to get the boss to stop screaming about selling me more work. I am fortunate enough to have had a friend who then stabilized and shimmed my toilet and re-calked the base. I explained my budget before they came, I feel this was all about making money, and I do feel that my toilet was yanked to offset the balance.

The crew for A Better Septic was prompt, knew what they were doing. The price seamed to be fair for the work done. The installation of the system was great but the work leveling the yard was not good.
