"The most dishonest person I have ever encountered in 32 years of my career. We were required to be complete by August 31st. What was left to be done was four holes drilled for faucet holes and one filler above the refrigerator. We were at her gate first thing that Monday ( 31st) morning and she refused entry. She lied and said she was at the office which is where I sat for over an hour trying to reach her by phone, text and email I have never ever been disrespectful or vindictive to any client in my life. I personally spent Saturday cleaning her entire house and garage from not only our job but all the other trades she had hired. All the other items she refers too were not in her contract but she expected me to supply and install. She also informed me as we were attempting to come to a resolution that she was charging me for plumbers, and electricians which I had absolutely nothing to do with. For the first time in my life, I am suing a client, I am not the only trade on this job doing the same as the flooring guy she hired has leaned her property for none payment. I could go on for an hour but I will refrain until I have my day in court with her. I was warned by several other trades that walked away from her during the bidding process due to her extreme rudeness, to do the same, it is my single biggest mistake not walking away from a very toxic and rude person. I pride myself on making every Client happy with us, and make it pleasant and stress free experience for them. [Member Name Removed] is a very different type of human being,"
Been about a year since completed , still very happy with all the work. Nothing showed up as a problem even a year later.
Felt very comfortable doing business with this company , best of all they are professionals and do a very good job.
Jim is very professional , easy to talk with , doesn't pressure you , has great ideas, and you get to see what your project is going to look like before you commit. Has a good selection of granite pieces , so if you can find one you like in the yard , you can have the best for the cost of a lesser quality material ! REAL +
My wife started looking into granite counters from smaller design companies. I was reluctant because I assumed the smaller shops would be more expensive than the big stores. We'd already gone over budget on several parts of the kitchen remodel. But seeing as we were not able to find the counter top, I agreed. Right away, my wife found exactly the granite she wanted for the kitchen counter we wanted by looking at granite suppliers' websites. We put together a list of potential fabricators to contact and get quotes. Since we had no experience with what to look for in a granite fabricator, we relied upon Angie's List review to narrow our list.
After getting quote from three different fabricators, we decided to go with Artisan. All of the quotes w received were close - within a couple hundred dollars. The quotes were about the same as we'd received from the big-box stores (whew!). We went with Artisan because we felt most comfortable with Lisa - she seemed to understand what we were looking to do with the kitchen in terms of the style. As an added bonus, Lisa said that they could fabricate the island counter out of one slab. We also liked their pricing model - they passed on the material at their cost without any markup and they were happy to work with any of the stone yards in the area. This pricing model ultimately saved us a significant amount of money.
Lisa was familiar with the granite we were interested in but let us know that that particular material was usually around $1300 per slab at the local yards. We needed two slabs. Lisa offered to look around for us since she was at the various local yards throughout the week for other customers. Since we'd been without a proper kitchen for months, what was a extra week or two. Within about a week Lisa called to let us know she's seen some slabs we might like at a local yard. The slabs were a special buy and were much lower than the $1300 slabs were were initially interested in. When my wife wen to look, she found the exact granite we where set on in the lot of special buys - and best yet, they were only $650 each!
Artisan's installers were out the next day to template. About a week later they guys brought the counter. It was quite a feat to see, but the island was one enormous piece. It must have weighed better than 900lbs. The installation was flawless. Every piece was cut perfectly. The guys caulked everything and sealed the counter a second time (it had been sealed once at the fabrication shop).
Lisa and her team were great. Overall we couldn't be happier with the results. The kitchen looks great and counter is awesome. The single slab kitchen island makes quite a visual impact for visitors. The bargain granite Lisa found saved us $1300 over our initial quote. Next time I need stone fabrication I will call Lisa again.
In 2009 we hired Lisa Veta to install granite in our total bathroom remodel. It was obvious from the time we met her that she had a talent for colors, finishes, shapes etc. So we deferred to her judgment for the granite color and paint. We were blessed to have her and as a result have a beautiful, handicap bathroom.
Fast forward to 2011. We had a kitchen remodel and two more bathrooms resurfaced in granite. Again, we relied on Lisa for color choices and granite selection. Another win for us.
We contacted her one day ago because we detected a separation at the kitchen sink. She and her new team came out today and did a minor repair. There was no charge but we insisted on tipping them for their rapid response.
We will always use Lisa!!
Artisan also does their own granite fabrication. Jim went with us to the granite yards he does business with to help choose granite that would coordinate with our chosen cabinets and the floor tile we already had. He educated us on granite quality and helped us choose a granite we will never regret. Granite yards don't tell the customer the cost of the slabs and refer them to the fabricator. Jim is very upfront that the client knows the cost, he will use what he needs for the job, and either use any leftover granite for another job for us, or hold it on consignment for us and send us the money when he sells it. There are no hidden costs on the granite.
Jim was responsive to every phone call, and cheerfully made any changes I asked for. When he brought the contract, it was very clearly stated what we were getting, what it would cost, and a schedule for start and completion. Once we signed the contract, it was 3 weeks for delivery, then start demolish on Monday, and complete the following Tuesday.
Jim's partners, Doug and Al, showed up on Monday as promised. I was so impressed with their attention to detail and perfection, their professionalism, and teamwork. They are both masters of their craft and take pride and ownership in their work. They were very diligent in minimizing the dust and mess both inside and outside our home. They went above and beyond all expectations and did things for us they didn't have to do. When they found out we were keeping a cabinet for our garage, they hung it without our asking. When they knew we needed a countertop for an old cabinet we were giving our daughter, Doug cut two pieces to fit, depending on which side would be installed next to a wall. They loaned their trailer to my brother to haul away the bulk of the old cabinets he wanted.
Doug did the electrical and installed additional lighting. He did the research for the lighting and purchased the lighting that fit our needs.
Lisa coordinated the granite and Juan and Francisco showed up to make the templates they needed to cut the stone. Again, I was very impressed with the teamwork. Once this project started, there was not an idle moment. Everyone knew what everyone else was doing and it was perfectly coordinated to comply with the time frames contained in the contract.
We are thrilled with the quality of cabinetry and granite, and the perfection in installation. All of these people were a real pleasure to work with, and we got exactly what we were told we would get, when they said we would get it, and for the price promised. They are all complete professionals, and I wish I could rate them higher than an A!
