Pathetic performance by Artisan Cabinetry and Stone and a very painful experience for me! I am sorry I ever walked into their showroom.
Response from ARTISAN CABINETRY AND STONE
"The most dishonest person I have ever encountered in 32 years of my career. We were required to be complete by August 31st. What was left to be done was four holes drilled for faucet holes and one filler above the refrigerator. We were at her gate first thing that Monday ( 31st) morning and she refused entry. She lied and said she was at the office which is where I sat for over an hour trying to reach her by phone, text and email I have never ever been disrespectful or vindictive to any client in my life. I personally spent Saturday cleaning her entire house and garage from not only our job but all the other trades she had hired. All the other items she refers too were not in her contract but she expected me to supply and install. She also informed me as we were attempting to come to a resolution that she was charging me for plumbers, and electricians which I had absolutely nothing to do with. For the first time in my life, I am suing a client, I am not the only trade on this job doing the same as the flooring guy she hired has leaned her property for none payment. I could go on for an hour but I will refrain until I have my day in court with her. I was warned by several other trades that walked away from her during the bidding process due to her extreme rudeness, to do the same, it is my single biggest mistake not walking away from a very toxic and rude person. I pride myself on making every Client happy with us, and make it pleasant and stress free experience for them. [Member Name Removed] is a very different type of human being,"

It was difficult to grade this supplier. They provide both cabinets and counter tops. Jim Montevecci was our contact for the cabinets and he did any excellent job from start to finish. We are very pleased with the quality of the cabinets and installation and would strongly recommend them to anyone. We were very disappointed with our contact person, Lisa, for the counter tops. She did not follow instructions and failed to keep her appointments. We downgraded the company ratings due to her performance.

Excellent.  Jim has great ideas on how to turn our 80's bathroom into a modern great looking bathroom.. Created a computer generated model so we could change and have a good idea of what we were buying.  Jim was our project manager , and was always available to discuss any issue that came up ( very few issues ) .  Great craftsmanship , and project was finished on time.
Been about a year since completed , still very happy with all the work.  Nothing showed up as a problem  even a year later.
Felt very comfortable doing business with this company , best of all  they are professionals and do a very good job.
Jim is very professional , easy to talk with , doesn't pressure you , has great ideas, and you get to see what your project is going to look like before you commit.  Has a good selection of granite pieces , so if you can find one you like in the yard , you can have the best for the cost of a lesser quality material !   REAL +

We were working on a huge remodel of our kitchen breakfast nook are of our house.  My wife and I had designed the kitchen to include a greatly enlarged island area.  We had (finally) completed the installation of our cabinets after two months of work gutting the old kitchen and pulling up the old ceramic tile floor and replacing it with slate tile.  Throughout the remodel, we had repeatedly looked at all of the local big-box home improvement stores looking for the right counter top material for the kitchen counters found nothing.  We had trouble finding counter material that we both liked in the stores.  Eventually we did find a granite we were willing to settle on at Lowes when we learned that they would not be able to install the counter the way we wanted.  Our kitchen island is approximately 5.5 feet x 8.5 feet  and we wanted the island's counter to be one solid piece. The associate at Lowes told us they would have to install the Island with a seam because the island was larger than the biggest slab their fabricators and installers could handle.  We decided to wait because we'd really wanted the island counter to be made without a seem.  It turned out to be lucky that we waited.
My wife started looking into granite counters from smaller design companies.  I was reluctant because I assumed the smaller shops would be more expensive than the big stores.  We'd already gone over budget on several parts of the kitchen remodel. But seeing as we were not able to find the counter top, I agreed.  Right away, my wife found exactly the granite she wanted for the kitchen counter we wanted by looking at granite suppliers' websites.  We put together a list of potential fabricators to contact and get quotes.  Since we had no experience with what to look for in a granite fabricator, we relied upon Angie's List review to narrow our list.
After getting quote from three different fabricators, we decided to go with Artisan.  All of the quotes w received were close - within a couple hundred dollars.  The quotes were about the same as we'd received from the big-box stores (whew!). We went with Artisan because we felt most comfortable with Lisa - she seemed to understand what we were looking to do with the kitchen in terms of the style.  As an added bonus, Lisa said that they could fabricate the island counter out of one slab.  We also liked their pricing model - they passed on the material at their cost without any markup and they were happy to work with any of the stone yards in the area.  This pricing model ultimately saved us a significant amount of money.
Lisa was familiar with the granite we were interested in but let us know that that particular material was usually around $1300 per slab at the local yards.  We needed two slabs. Lisa offered to look around for us since she was at the various local yards throughout the week for other customers.  Since we'd been without a proper kitchen for months, what was a extra week or two. Within about a week Lisa called to let us know she's seen some slabs we might like at a local yard. The slabs were a special buy and were much lower than the $1300 slabs were were initially interested in.  When my wife wen to look, she found the exact granite we where set on in the lot of special buys - and best yet, they were only $650 each!
Artisan's installers were out the next day to template.  About a week later they guys brought the counter.    It was quite a feat to see, but the island was one enormous piece.  It must have weighed better than 900lbs.  The installation was flawless.  Every piece was cut perfectly.    The guys caulked everything and sealed the counter a second time (it had been sealed once at the fabrication shop).
Lisa and her team were great.  Overall we couldn't be happier with the results.  The kitchen looks great and counter is awesome.  The single slab kitchen island makes quite a visual impact for visitors.  The bargain granite Lisa found saved us $1300 over our initial quote.  Next time I need stone fabrication I will call Lisa again.
