Ron Robleto the owner of American Fence in Melbourne, FL, is the most unprofessional, incompetent and disrespectful business owner I've ever dealt with. He will flat out lie right to your face. He has no voice mail, keeps no office hours, doesn't return emails or calls. Ron installed cable wire for my deck rail. He was paid to use 316L stainless steel cable. He either got a bad batch or used an inferior cable as it rusted within a couple months of installation. Ron said he would replace it. Said he treats customers the way he would treat a family member. It's been over a year and the cable has still not been replaced despite Ron's promises and guarantees that it would be replaced. Ron Robleto of Melbourne Beach always has excuses why he hasn't been able to replace it yet. Now, Ron no longer responds to emails or messages and has gone silent.

I've used this company several times over the last 3 years.  They do beautiful work and are extremely nice.  They also have lots of good design ideas.  However, they are very very slow.  I waited months for product and when I (frequently) called they either didn't return my calls or wouldn't confirm a delivery date.  I had to go to their office to get a real answer on 2 seperate occasions. 

If you use them-discuss the time frame and hold them to it.  Also, be there when they install-there was lack of communication between the ordering and the installation on 2 parts of the job.  The wooden fence would have been put in the wrong place if I hadn't been there to correct them and the metal fence would have been installed incorrectly as well.

It was a very small job but he was there.  He arrived on time and did what he said he was going to do.

They did a good job.

They are a big company in town.  They did a super job.  Usually August and September are the worst for hurricanes.  I had a lot done.  They tore out and redid everything.  We went ahead and had some more done.  They did superb.  They did everything I asked for.  It was probably closer to 200 feet of fence.

I should have written this earlier, and I'll apologize for not having the exact date and amount.  However at the time they installed the fence we knew there were problems.  They came to our home (Suntree) and the wood they used was in poor shape (i.e. warped, chunks missing, etc.).  The people that installed the fence had air guns that drove, more often than not, the nails almost THROUGH the boards.  The fence was uneven as it went around the perimeter of our yard, and the height wasn't consistent.  The fence posts are now falling over, the pickets are falling off, and the gate is almost falling off (the hinges were never secured properly).  I've seen fences by this company that look good.  And we did get several quotes, American was NOT the lowest bidder.  But the salesman made them seem like a quality company.  The previous fence (it was here when we bought the home) had lasted several years, and was of a much higher quality.

I'm not sure how I could have avoided this problem, other than to stay home from my job to supervise the installation.  Good luck.

Company came out immediately when called to give a quote.  The fence plans changed a couple of times and each time they were very responsive.  The pulled the permits immediately and were patient while we waited for our HOA approval.  Once we had our HOA approval they were ready to come out within days.  We were out of the country when the HOA approval was recieved but our young adult son was home.  We were very pleased to come home and find the fence installed exactly to specifications especially since the designs were so unique and included 3 gates, 2 trellis's as well as a variety of fence heights on a slope.
