Description of Work: "I asked the company to redo some of my pool pump plumbing and to figure out if the main drain would function stuck valve was replaced. I also wanted an estimate to fix my pool light (it wouldn't seed properly. The repair guy said that the main drain would work with a new valve so he replaced all the valves and piping to the pump. Then he took 15-20 min to look at the light - a screw was broken off. He said the pool needs to be partially drained to fix it. | |When I got the bill I was shocked! $25 service call, $50 first half hr, and $40 per 1/2 hr x 4. (So charged for 2 1/2 hrs). Then charged for 2 valves, and $26 for somega adapter and $35 for ""misc plumbing supplies"". Total over $500. | |The main drain still does not work. | |I knew he didn't work that long so I went to the business and asked how they got that time. By GPS, his truck was.in my driveway 2 hrs and 6 min. I explained over 15 min was him doing the estimate to fix the light. They didn't care. Or they didnt care that the main drain valve was only to be replaced if it would fix the drain! And the $35 for misc parts is ""a standard charge for all jobs"". What a rip off! And I have NEVER heardone of billing based on GPS! Just because his truck sat in my driveway does not mean he worked the whole time! |So they gave me $40 off. I still feel ripped off. "

I went in to Art Co to inquire about the feasibility and cost to paint the interior of a pool my company was renovating in Maitland. They told me how to do it and that it was expensive at about $100.00 per gallon for the paint or primer. I told them I would send my contractor over to buy the paint and begin the paint process. AT NO TIME DID THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY FOR ANY EXCESS PAINT THAT WAS UNOPENED. My contractor sent over his laborer to buy the paint. They deliberately told him a ratio of primer to final paint that was higher than what was required, resulting in this worker buying three gallons more than was needed. When the painting was finished he went back to return the three unopened cans of paint that were not used. They would NOT REFUND HIS MONEY. They said they advised the $10.00 hour worker that ALL SALES WERE FINAL AND NOT RETURNABLE, STORE CREDIT ONLY, and only with an ORIGINAL RECEIPT, they don't keep track of STORE CREDITS!!! I went to the store and explained that the paint was UNOPENED, WAS PURCHSED BECASUE OF THIER RATIO ERROR and there was NO REASON FOR THEM NOT TO REFUND THE MONEY FOR THE OVER BOUGHT PAINT FROM MY CONTRACTORS WORKER. They refused and were EXTREMELY RUDE and downright NASTY to me in the bargain. I have not used them in the past because they are overpriced and only used them this time because they were convenient and I like to support mom and pop operations. They took advantage of an employee who didn't know any better and who may lose his job because of their bad business behavior. Unfortunately they GIVE MOM AND POP STORES A bad name. Go to a bigger name pool company or even a franchised chain and they will treat you fairly. My company will NEVER use Art Co. again and I would advise anyone not to patronize such a rude and underhanded operation who would take advantage of a typical construction worker.
