A.M.H. Electrical Services, LLC

On May 23rd I entered into an agreement with Arnim Hernandez, owner of A.M.H. Electrical, to re-wire my house. A week later we met to notarize the permit application, and I wrote him a check for $3000 (a 50% deposit on the job). A week later I gave him another $1500. at his request. IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR AND MR HERNANDEZ HAS "ABANDONED" THE JOB, leaving my house in a terrible state, with wires sticking out of holes in the walls and ceilings in every room! Most of the outlets and switches have no cover plates and the electrical panel remains unlabeled---a jumbled mess of wires, POSING AN OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD!! In my experience, Mr Hernandez has been rude and disrespectful by not showing up for appointments on MANY occasions, without even a phone call. When I've tried to reach him to ask his whereabouts...(Are you running late? Are you still coming?)…. and then later to try and reschedule---he ignored my texts and phone calls, only to respond 2 weeks later by saying, "I'll be there on Thursday". NO apology, NO explanation, NO acknowledging my trying to contact him!! I have been more than patient with Mr Hernandez, giving his as much time as possible to complete the work in a timely fashion. He originally told me this job would take a few months. It is now 13 months to date and the job is only half done! Since he has obviously "abandoned" the job I now have to pay another electrician 'extra', to come in and sort out this mess! (Many professionals refuse to finish up someone else's job). I have since found out that he lied to me, and only filed a permit for 6 months. So now, the permit has expired!! What's worse is, Mr Hernandez has stolen $150 from me by not paying for the refrigerator and dishwasher he purchased (for someone) from me. He had his worker, Simon, stop by to take delivery of it one day, and texted me saying he would give me the $150 on his next visit. HE NEVER DID!! Mr Hernandez has not been here to work on the job for 2 months. He has continued to ignore my calls and texts. In my opinion, he has exhibited behavior that is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, unethical and just downright "mean-spirited". He left me stranded and in such a terrible bind, with this mess of wires all over the house! (Some say he took advantage of the fact that I'm a single woman---or perhaps he was upset that I didn't succumb to his advances?) In light of my BAD experience with Mr Hernandez, needless to say, I DO NOT RECOMMEND A.M.H. ELECTRICAL, as represented by ARNIM HERNANDEZ!! It is my hope that I can prevent someone else from falling victim to his 'unprofessional' ways!
