Where to start. I live in louisiana and after Hurricane IDA, BJ Melvin and sons came to my area to tarp roofs. In our time of need of course we went with the first company that showed up. That was my mistake. They tarped my roof l, but also removed all the exhaust vents without me knowing. Thankfully my neighbor noticed and informed me. This was a major issue because my gas hot water tank had no exhaust vent now. I had the hire someone to come re-tarp that area so a vent could be put that. Cost me out of pocket. I tried to contact Melvin and sons and by the time the came back days later the work was complete. On top of that they charged my insurance an emergency service after hours charge because when they tarped the roof they didn’t have sand bags to out on it. They waited until a Sunday to come out the sandbags so they could up the price. The price they charges to tarp a roof was only a few thousand short of what I paid for a brand new roof. Companies like this is why we pay the insane insurance rates we do. I definitely learned a lesson from this and will never do business with and out of state company in time of emergency. I hope at the end of the day karma catches up to them, because I’m sure there were countless families taken advantage of like myself.

The project went slowly with numerous stoppages. Since paid , it has been very difficult to get followup small repairs/adjustments..
Phone calls are not returned promptly if at all.

So far they have done an excellent job. The price is excellent. They are here when they are supposed to be except when it is raining. They have done a good job and they have been responsive. They are professional. I would absolutely use them again.
