Excellent company. Price was fair, work performed as promised. We agreed to the proposed height but when their installation crew began work, they looked it over and discovered that they could add additional height that really made a huge improvement. The insulated roof keeps the heat out, the screens are heavy duty so that even our large dog can't hurt it. Best of all, we had a small leak where the room met the existing roof and they came out until it was found and fixed. Nothing better than a company that does great work and guarantees it.

Of the three companies consulted, Southern Aluminum came out first. We spent some time interviewing Rick who seemed to very knowledgeable and experienced in the industry. Though they were not least expensive, we went with them due to their feedback, years in business, and detail provided during their consultation. Rick warned us it could take up to 8 weeks to get the permits and that they contract out the existing concrete removal, pouring of the new slab, and application of the spray coat. Once we put down the deposit, many weeks went by and I felt like I needed to call to stay on their radar. The owner, Steve, answered my questions thoroughly and, once the permits were back, referred me to the persons needed to get the concrete and spray on completed. The guys that did the concrete worked in incredible heat and humidity and were very detailed in their work. They did fix the backdoor they somehow managed to jam shut. The person who runs the concrete portion wasn't the most pleasant to speak to, but got the work done timely and satisfactory. The man who does the spray on coating was a pleasure to work with and also did great onsite work. Once the aluminum guys came out, they worked through the heat and weather to get the job done. The work was done with great detail, as described, and with a thorough cleanup. It was worth the money and time required to get the end result. Patience is required when reaching out to and working with multiple contractors, but being persistent and understanding helps. We'd recommend this company for the construction of any aluminum projects.

The men did an excellent job, turned out they were the new enclosure team. I was told one man would show up to do sides only and the "A" team showed up due to a cancellation. Owner or salesman never showed up to check job or called to say thank you!

The team did an excellent job and was very thorough in all aspects of the job. Neighbors of our community continue to comment on how beautiful our screen room looks. After completion, I called Southern Aluminum to do a couple of corrections and they were very responsive to my request. I highly recommend this company.

Absolutely the best investment we made!  We live outside and this area is now not only livable but perfect for entertaining!  Extremely professional, courteous and thoughtful.  They were able to provide guidance and suggestions for changes on the fly.  In addition, we had 2 service requests not due to any issues of the Company and they were at our house within a few days to resolve, even 6 months after installing.  Absolutely one of the best and most reliable contractors in the state of Florida.

I had a new pool enclosure installed, along with some additional aluminum post work performed.  I chose Southern Aluminum, not only because of good previous reviews, but they also came in about 3K less than my highest bidder for the same work.  The construction took less than a week, and everything was built from scratch; nothing was brought in pre-fab and pieced together like some companies will do.  Everything turned out great!  I waited to post a review because I wanted to wait for a good rain to ensure that the gutters were doing their job.  Not too long after a good rain, I discovered a leak that appeared to be coming from behind the gutter where the upper gutter from the lanai overlaps the bottom gutter from the main roof.  I called Steve about it, and even emailed in a quick video of the leak during a good rain.  He sent someone out the first time to caulk the seams around everything, but it would still leak.  I called again, and this time Mark came out with another tech.  They were prepared to take the lower gutter down and extend it to try and fix it, but felt that that wasn’t what was needed.  I give props to Mark for finding the source of the leak, which was actually a broken seam in the TPO rubber roof of the lanai, which caused water to enter and leak under the lanai roof where you couldn’t see it.  You could only see the water when it leaked out behind the gutter.  To me, this was a very tricky leak.  It's appearance made you think it was coming from one place, when it was actually coming from somewhere completely different.  I would have never found that, because you couldn’t see the break in the seam.  Mark found it when using the garden hose to run water over specific areas on the roof until water came out of the leak. This leak is also something that is very easily fixed, and I did that myself with some seam tape from Home Depot.

This speaks volumes to me.  They could have just gave up after receiving full payment and did nothing, but I felt like they went the extra mile to make sure everything was right.

The bid process was excellent and the men in the office were excellent.  the quality of work was fantastic. was a little concerned about one of the workers who spent more time on his cell phone than actually working until my husband called the office about the situation. then the man get angry and put the door in the wrong place. at first he refused to move it, but then after another call to the office he moved it over where it should have been.  The other work really worked his tail off and both paid great attention to detail and did excellent work.  we hope the office has talked to the one guy and others don't have the same situation.  We were impressed with the owners and office people in quickly taking care of the situation.  We love the porch and cover and they did a beautiful job for a reasonable price.  We appreciate that they took care of the issues that arose right away and talked with their worker about the cell phone usage.  we have recommended them to all our neighbors.

It's been a while since the work was done but I remember it being uneventful and we're still very happy with the enclosure 2 years later.

They did a terrific job and I would definitely recommend this company. After the work began, they discovered that a portion of my pool cage would needto be replaced in order to do the job properly and they did so without changing what they estimated and committed to originally. The 2 guys worked really hard for full days and finished the job faster than I expected. They did a great job installing the new screen doors and the screening. I had a couple of minor leaks after the job was done and they came back promptly to seal and caulk those sections. Great company to work with!

. One word "FANTASTIC'  - This room turned out beautifully. We love the new space. Our neighbors love the new space. 13x22ft is glassed in sun room and 10X13 Ft is our screen room. Gabled /shingled roof to make it match existing roof line. It was very challenging project but  we just love our new space. We are very grateful to everyone at Southern for their dedication and hard work.  I am happy to say that the individuals at Southern are part of the minority who take pride in their work, and it shows.

Southern Aluminum Installation Inc was actually recommended to me by the gentlemen who was renovating our pool. So he provided their contact info and Rick was out just a few days later to do a site survey. The quote seemed reasonable for us due to the size and scope of work. So we called and told them we were ready to sign up for the project. They took a small deposit and started the permit process. Once the permit cleared a few weeks later they went to work. The work took about 3-4 days and the installation crew was excellent. They were very professional and worked hard. I am very pleased with the final product.

From Rick in sales who looked at my design and said yep we can do that, he described every material and how the room would be installed and gave his recommendations on some changes, to Mark, Steve and the crew. They were very professional to the very end of the project They did everything they said they would and more.  They actually installed our sunroom for the lowest quote that we got from another company. We had a couple of leaks and Mark was out to check on it and had it fixed, the vinyl triple hung windows were an issue to get put in due to the manufacturer not following Marks instructions per codes, But Mark and Tony made it work. Mark came out to check on the windows when we were having a problem with the operation of them and he fixed the problem. The job site was neat and clean throughout the installation and when the job was done. We are very happy with our sun room and would highly recommend Southern Aluminum Installations without hesitation. We will be using you again in the future. Thanks guys for a GREAT job!

Two workers completed my patio in the pouring rain to finish the job and were very pleasant and professional.  It took them less than 2 days to completely finish the structure.  My only complaint is that it took about 8 weeks from the day that we signed the contract until the structure went up.  I understand that the county took a while to permit the structure, but I had to call for an update at about 4 weeks and again at 6 when I had heard nothing from the contractor.  They had originally told us that we would hear something between 3 and 5 weeks, so that was no surprise.  
Long story short- great work but communication needs improvement. 

The workers showed up when they said they would and got the job done quickly. The screen enclosure looks great. I did have a couple of leaks in the roof that they added, but they promptly came back and fixed it.

The sales representative explained the product and process for replacing the existing screen room enclosure. A tree limb had damaged the roof. We elected to have Southern Aluminum take the old enclosure down and rebuild a new room. He showed us the new roof material which was much better than the old pan style roof.
Southern Aluminum secured the necessary permits from the county and scheduled the installation. They called before arriving and were on time.
The crew went right to work and were careful in taking down the old room. I asked for time to paint the walls with the old room now out of the way and they obliged. The crew was professional and experienced, explaining the process as they went along.
At end of day one the room was framed out and new roof in place.
On day two they completed the installation by mid day and called in the county inspection. The inspector arrived the next day and approved the install.
Neighbors have already remarked that the new enclosure looks great and we believe it does. It is sturdy and up to code.

In the beginning no problems but when it rain it was leaking and Southern Aluminum had to come back four times and try to fi it. They sprayed a black tart sealer on my grey color shingles and still kept on leaking. Then they blame my roofer for the leaks. Contacted my roofer and they found that Southern Aluminum had damage my shingles it cost me $500.00 to replace the broken shingles and they found out the leak was coming from another place and my roofer sealed it off.

The process was a wonderful experience. Southern Aluminum Installations were professional, showed up on time, did a great job and worked with my son's college class schedule to get the job done. My son completely loves the enclosure.

Southern Aluminum was the lowest of 3 quotes we received for our screen room addition. We figured it would be hard to mess up a screen room so we went with the lowest quote.
The installers showed up on time and the screen room went up quickly over the course of two days. It looked pretty good and the screens were tight. We got everything we asked for and it was constructed how they said it would be. We were happy with how it looked.
The first problem is that the installers left trash all over the back yard. I collected a 2 gallon bucket full of scrap screen, screws, sharp aluminum pieces, etc. Thankfully I found all of it before I mowed the lawn or some of those sharp pieces would have been painful...
The second problem was the leak. The porch leaked where the new roof met the old roof. We called and they came out and re-caulked the area, but that didn't fix the problem. This happened twice more before the owner himself came out and declared that the installers didn't flash the area properly. He said he fixed it that day, but the next time it rained, it leaked again. The next time I called they tried to blame the chimney cap (which was brand new), and said sometimes they just couldn't fix water issues. I kept badgering them and finally they came out again and painted the area with a water sealing rubber paint. I *THINK* this finally resolved the issue, but we haven't had a hard Summer rain yet so we will see.
This company is INCREDIBLY frustrating to deal with. The story above took more than a YEAR to play out. Every single time I called to have them fix the leak, I asked them to call me first so I could be there and talk to them about what they were doing. Not once did I ever get a call back. I never even got a call to tell me the work was done. I had to guess, or go up on the roof myself to look.
The owner is friendly, and the price was good, but I would not recommend this company to anyone.

He did a great job. He cleaned up very well and you couldn't tell that he was here in the first place except for the new screens. The price was decent and they were courteous and professional. I would recommend them to others.
