+ -1 moreShelley is very professional and friendly. I'm out of her area so had to bring the machine to her, but it was no problem. She examined it the next day and told me what had to be done. I agreed. The machine was ready for pick up a couple of days later. She fixed the two original problems and a third that came up along the way (replaced a belt). She cleaned the machine and it looks like brand new. I'm very happy.
Description of Work: Broke a part in an old Singer machine. Tried to repair it and got stumped along the way. Shelley came to my rescue. She replaced the arm shaft gear and tension release.

Description of Work: My sewing machine is over 35 years old and had never been serviced. We keep it oiled according to the manual. However, as I stated, had never been serviced. Shelly came out and gave it a full service and I don't think it has been this good since it was first purchased. I would highly recommend her. She was very nice to work with and very professional

Description of Work: Cleaned and adjusted two old machines. First machine was $59. The second machine needed a new gear, significant cleaning and was taken to the shop for $89 and returned. Both work beautifully. This woman is an expert and she will be the only person I call in the future. Home visits for the sewing machine. What service!!!!

O'Brien Sewing is the only professional I want to service my machines.They work on all models and I have recommended them to a friend who inherited her grandmother's treadle machine. They had to take my Sew Mor machine into the workshop but returned it in 2 days. What a find...thank you O'Brien's and Angie's List.
Description of Work: Repaired the engine on my Sew Mor sewing machine. This was a welcome surprise as I thought the engine would have to be replaced. Then put the machine in perfect working order even fixing the foot pedal and the case.. My Mother's Singer machine was serviced as well.

+ -1 moreThey were very nice and accommodating. They came to my house to repair my sewing machine. Turns out that the motor was "frozen" up since it had not been used in almost 10 years. She had to take it back to her shop, but made plans to return it at a time convenient to both of us. It works beautifully now and she even took the time to re-teach me some of the tips of sewing that I had forgotten over the years.

Explained everything she was doing and why. Cleaned up area before she left. Would definitely recommend O’Brien’s Sewing Machine Repair and would use them again.

Even though our machine is nearly 30 years old, she was familiar with the model and how to service and tune it. + -1 moreThe machine works beautifully now. I can't think of anything she could do differently. If you have a sewing machine that doesn't work properly or needs a good cleaning, Call Obrien's Sewing Machine Repair.
Description of Work: Shelly is wonderful. She replaced a part (she had the replacement with her). She showed me the broken part and left it with me. She showed me things about my machine I didn't know and told me about the proper needle to use and the proper thread to use. She was great and had a lot of patience with my 1 1/2 year twin grandchildren that were whining and making alot of noise while she was in my house. I will definitely use her again and recommend her to my firends. This is my first experience with Angie's List and I am completely sold. Thanks!

She also found other problems and fixed them. She methodically went through the machine and checked everything. She even spent some time with me and showed me some features my machine had and how to use them. I will never use anyone else as long as they are in business. What a value!
