I was having a sink installed over granite. The hole in the granite was about 1/4" too large so the sink could not be installed. I found Mark on Angie's list and gave him a call. He was on his way back from the Keys and said that had it been earlier, he would have come right over upon his return home. We made an appointment for early the next morning. He showed up exactly on time and immediately got to work. His work is very precise and he was extremely professional. Since cutting granite involves wetting while cutting, the process is a little messy and dusty. He did his best to contain the mess/dust and even cleaned up the floor. He made sure the sink fit snugly before he left.

Mark is a lifesaver, as well as an excellent tile man! I had a new dishwasher installed (or should I say, partially installed) to replace a very old, builder grade dishwasher. The folks who owned the home before us didn't bother to replace it when they had the floor laid, so you guessed it, the dishwasher could not slide in because of the extra height of the floor. Well, the guys who installed it did the best they could, but they left me with a dishwasher sticking out from my cabinets about 3 or 4 inches, and they asked me if I had a tile guy! Well, I didn't yesterday, but I certainly do today!!! I called Mark, explained the situation, and asked if he could help. Fortunately for me, he didn't live far and was at my house within the hour.
After some discussion about the way to approach, we decided on starting with the least drastic fix. He got his tools, cut away a little, tried to slide the dishwasher in, took it back out, cut a little more, and with a lot of effort, was able to finally get my dishwasher were it was suppose to be. Then, he managed to repair those two notches so well that you cannot even notice it under the dishwasher. He did an absolutely amazing job- I am so happy that I called him. Mark put plastic up to keep the granite dust down and then worked carefully to enlarge the existing hole in the granite to fit my new sink. He came out promptly and performed all work as he promised. We had called many granite companies and could not even get any of them to come out and look at the job or committ to doing it. I guess that they only want to put new granite in, not cut existing granite. Mark gave me a price on the phone for cutting the sink and the stove area and then came out promptly to do the job. We are extremely happy with the work completed and my new sink looks amazing! Thank you Mark for doing such an amazing job!

Before calling Mark, I had talked to several granite contractors (who advertised that they did granite repair work) about this job. They all said that they could do it. These contractors were going to charge me 2 to 3 times as much as Mark! One of them said he would come out just to take a look at the job, but he would charge me $60 for the service call! None of these contractors ever answered their phone. I was always leaving voice messages AND most of the time they NEVER called me back. These other contractors had several good reviews, but my experience with them was very FRUSTRATING. I was beginning to think that no contractor would be willing to cut my counter top because it was a small job and there was a risk that the counter top would crack.
Anyway, I noticed from the reviews on Angies list that Mark had done jobs like mine before. So I called him and he confirmed that he had done many jobs where he had to cut granite counter top. We had to remove the existing sink, so we arranged to have him come out a few days later. Before he was scheduled to come, we called him a few times with questions/concerns. He ALWAYS answered his phone! He was POLITE, FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL.
If you need to cut your granite counter top, do yourself a big favor and CALL MARK! He also does tile repair work so when we need that done, we will call him!

I used Angie's List to find Mark. I needed to have my granite counter top cut slightly to fit a replacement slide-in range we bought. He quoted a very reasonable $100, and showed up several days later at exactly the time promised.

He got right to work protecting everything in the work area with plastic so that nothing else got dirty or wet from his work.

The end result was perfect, and he even made a few slight adjustments to make the fit as perfect as possible. He cleaned up everything when he was done, and I really appreciated that.

Overall, a great experience. A very nice man, and easy to work with.

It was wonderful. Excellent worker and knows what he is doing. I highly recommend him for any type of tile or marble work.
