Cindi Donaldson came by to give us the estimate and show us samples of the products to be installed. The entire process, from estimate to install, was seamless. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Major issues with Sun Barrier response and scheduling. However, no issue with Sun Barrier cashing our check. We received a quote from Sun Barrier on March 8, 2018. We sent an email response to the quote on March 15, 2018 and there was no response. We send a second email message as well as a phone message on April 25th since we didn’t hear back from the March 15 email we sent to Sun Barrier. We sent another email was sent to Sun Barrier on April 27th and found out that there was an issue with our email response going to Sun Barrier junk email (Sun Barrier should check junk email, if this is a reoccurring problem or have IT set differing parameters). On May 12th Sun Barrier requested additional information to continue with the contract. We reacted quickly to move this project forward (since we started it in March). We were told on May 16th that once the deposit was received we would have someone out to complete final measurements in 4-5 weeks with installation shortly following. On May 19th, we sent a message to Karla that we signed the contract and sent a deposit of $1863 that was cashed on May 24th by Sun Barrier. So, our timeline expectation was four weeks at June 21st or five weeks at June 28th. However, those weeks came and went. To follow up, we have sent numerous emails and phone calls to get a timeline on final measurement and installation. We sent an email on July 2nd to check the status of final measurements with no Sun Barrier response. We sent a second email on July 9th to check the status, with no Sun Barrier respond. We sent a third email on July 12th to check the status, with no email response. We called Sun Barrier the week of July 12th to check the status and finally got a response and were told another four weeks of wait time (outside the original agreement). However, on July 13th we were told we had an appointment with Chuck the next week. However, that appointment for measurement was never confirmed by Sun Barrier. We were asked to schedule for the next week and we told Sun Barrier the following Thursday or Friday would be fine. However, once again, we have received no return emails or phone calls. Then again, on July 28th we sent another email trying to get a response. We’re not sure what is going on within the company, but this is very bad business. How many times do we need to call and email for a service? For being an A rated Angie’s list provider, we are extremely disappointed. Sun Barrier cashed our deposit on May 24th and we are going into week 10 (definitely not the 4-5 weeks we were quoted). Had we known the difficulties we would be facing, we would have chosen a different company.

They were very busy after Hurricane Matthew, but stayed in contact with us and notified us two days before they intended to do our job. I was anticipating they would need to completely replace one shutter, but they were able to repair it.

Sun Barrier did a superior job. They were responsive, prompt, knowledgeable and professional,and their work/product was of the highest quality (I am a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida and it takes a lot to impress me favorably). The cost was very reasonable. I recommend them highly.

Clean-up every day; installation was flawless and perfect - unlike competitors whose installations I saw were flawed & sloppy. Staff incredibly polite and clean. Would hire again in a heartbeat. Prices competitive or better.

We got a number of quotes and went for SunBarrier because of the system that they offer. The whole team was very prompt and courteous despite me having to reschedule them several times. They came and measured everything and constructed it mostly offsite. When they came to install all they had to do was to mount the screens and tidy up afterwards. It went very well and so far we are very impressed.

Crimsafe Security screens were new at the time of the installation. From the street, they look like screens from that are a permanently mounted hurricane shutters. They are steel and even provide an energy efficiency factor with the Florida sun. They have to be custom made for every opening and it was a long process from start to finish. Whenever I have had questions or concerns, they have come out and been very patient with us. They have been very nice and easy to work with. The owner has even come out to explain things to us. Everyone within the company has been a pleasure to deal with. Overall, I have been very happy with them.

The shutters were a perfect addition to the sunny sides of the house.  The powder coat color she suggested was a perfect complement to our new house paint and trim.  We just love the Key West look the home now has!  The two front windows are the two front bedrooms and we were really struggling to keep them cool in the summer.  Cindy guaranteed the bahamas would provide solar shade and solar heat reduction to these bright sunny windows, and our summer air conditioning bills have been lower since.
The biggest change as been on our double dining room west facing window, in the late afternoon the solar heat in the room made the table almost impossible to sit at...even with interior blinds and drapery.  Since adding the bahama shutter we have seen such a reduction in the solar heat in the room, that we have removed the drapery and now leave the interior blinds open to see the yard.
The shutters were installed in just a couple of hours and the workers were extremely professional.  They were able to install all the shutters while not damaging any of the bushes and landscaping.  The shutters still look as good as they did the first day, no color fading from the sun.
We now are considering purchasing an investment property and are factoring in the cost of bahama shutters from Sun Barrier Products to the homes we are looking at buying.  Cindy is currently pricing out two different homes for us, helping us factor in window replacement and shutter costs to our remodeling plans for each....she has been a great help with quotes and recommendations...making our choice of which property to offer on, so much easier.

I was interested in having Crimsafe hurricane/security screens (www.crimsafe.com) installed and Sun Barriers Products, Inc. (www.sunbarrierproducts.com) was the nearest dealer to me. I just happens that they installed accordion shutters on my parents home and they were satisfied with their service so I decide to use Sun Barrier Products to install our Crimsafe screens.
I called and spoke with Cindy who made an appointment for Becky to come out and discuss the Crimsafe product. Becky arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgable about the Crimsafe product. Becky measured our windows and we discussed the options we desired for the Crimsafe screens. Becky said she would e-mail a quote within 2 days for the screens. We received the quote and accepted the proposal. Becky said the job foreman, Chuck would come to the house for a final measurement (a double check) in around two weeks. This is when the material would arrive to manufacture the screens. Chuck gave me a call around the two week window and stopped by for the final measurement and to answer any questions I might have. 
Chuck said the Crimsafe screens would be ready to install in a week, but they were working on a big corporate project that might run over and he would get a hard install date to me in a few days. With holidays tossed in, the install date moved out to 10 days. This was not a problem as Chuck told me up front there might be a delay in getting to out installation.
When installation day arrived, the crew showed up on time, was professional and went right to work. The install was uneventful and the crew cleaned up what little trash was generated.
Overall, my wife and I were very pleased with the service and product we received from Sun Barrier Products, Inc.

1 Year Update:

I am very happy with the Crimsafe product. I still looks as good as the day it was installed, no corrosion, fading or discoloration of the screen or frames. The SunBarrier Company installation has been 1st class. No complaints. No hurricanes (yet) to test them, but the security aspect gives a lot of piece of mind. Nobody even notices the Crimsafe as it just looks like dark no-see-um screen until you get up close. Folks walk right by it and do not notice it. Much nicer than having unsightly accordion or roll down shutters. If gone on vacation, not a dead give away if you like to button up the house. When a storm or tornado comes along the protection is already in place, no running around to close shudders or hang boards. Also, there is a noticeable reduction in heat (sun) coming into the house through the windows. Swing open one of the escape screens and it is like getting hit with a heat gun! The only downside is cleaning the windows, the fixed screens allow for cleaning from the inside only. So if your windows do not open to the inside (or you don't have long arms) you may have to be creative on how to clean the glass. 

Was first introduced to Sun Barrier at the Orlando Home Show. We were impressed with the quality of the product but not the sales associates familiarity with the line which would later be obvious. The shutter that was demoed to us was not the shutter that was installed. When the issue was raised it was remotely addressed, in the end we were not happy. The whole process seemed disorganized at best. We were left feeling that they really didn't care about our feed back or satisfaction. We never got a follow up phone call or thank you from Sun Barrier, not necessarily good business. In fact a week after installation we discovered one of the shutters isn't even hung on center, something we would have liked to share with them, however at this point we are over the whole experience.

They came out and took care of the job like they said they would. We did not have any problems with them and I would highly recommend them to others! Great work at a fair price.
