Sears Appliance Repair

They were excellent. courteous, ethical, affordable

Once I let him in to make the repair he saw that I had bought the module (which by the way he said is a standard part he has on his truck) he added that it would have cost me about $90 more had I not picked it up already.  He then snapped the part in place, used wire cutters to clear the fried wires and put a standard new wire kit on it.  He wrapped it with electrical tape and put a couple plastic covers on the connection.  The total repair time was less then 5 minutes and he handed me a bill for $225 on top of the $75 already charged and it was not applied as stated which I should have ask for in writing.  Had I known a wire kit was all I needed I could have saved myself well over $200.  I am a single woman who will go buy an auger to open a plugged toilet on my own before I'll pay an over priced plumber $200 to use a $40 auger I now own.  Now that I know how to fix a burned out connection on a refrigerator I will never be bent over like that again either.  No one at Sears could give me a straight answer to any questions I had, no one was truly helpful and they charged me more money then a master mechanic.  The repair was so simple it flat out made me very unhappy to have been taken advantage of like that.  It will never happen to me again!!!  Overall it took too many days, the call center was not in touch with the field repair personnel.  It was tremendously difficult to get the information I needed or the proper part for the repair.  I would not recommend Sears for large appliance repair.
