POOKIE BROS PET SITTING

I hired Scottie to take care of my 2 cats - one is an "outside" cat and the other one is an indoor cat, along with my Koi pond. I gave him VERY DETAILED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS on how to take care of my pets and TOLD HIM THE DAYS I NEEDED HIM to come to my house and care for my pets. I explained to Scottie the reason the "outside" cat must stay outside at night is because she has behavioral issues with urinating on furniture therefore do NOT let her spend the night in the house! I have a fully fenced yard with lush landscaping along the back, as well as an in-ground pool, a huge covered porch that has a large table and chairs, a ceiling fan, a porch swing, a cat bed, cat toys, a big bowl of food and water, etc., so my "outside" cat is by no means suffering. When I came home, several weeks later, and after a very long day of traveling, I put my key in the door and started to open my door when all of a sudden this HORRIBLE, PUTRID, OVERWHELMING, STENCH OF CAT URINE hit me right in the face!! I could barely breathe!! I thought to my self - what in God's name has happened in here?? I found my "outside" cat sitting at the back door BEGGING to be let out! I had to leave my back doors open that night in an attempt to get some of the stench out! I called Scottie the next morning and asked him what the **** was my "outside" cat doing in my house? He claimed he "couldn't catch her" so he just left her inside the whole time. I have a 2,000 square foot house that is an open floor plan and ALL MY DOORS were CLOSED. All you had to do is open the back door and she would have RAN OUT!! Scottie chose on his own, to instead, lock my "OUTSIDE" cat IN MY HOUSE the ENTIRE TIME I WAS GONE!! The end result is, my "outside" cat had urinated and vomited ALL OVER MY FURNITURE -- my couch, my loveseat, my recliner, my chaise lounge chair, my hardwood floors, my tile floors and Scottie NEVER BOTHERED TO CLEAN IT UP!! It had CRYSTALIZED on my hardwood floors!! I don't know if I will be able to get the urine and the smell out of the furniture or if it will need to be thrown away. There was also cat litter strewn ALL OVER THE FLOOR!! I have two litter boxes and I couldn't believe the mess that was just left there ... Scottie didn't even bother to sweep that up either!! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Scottie also didn't even come to my house on some scheduled days, yes, you read that right, he was a NO SHOW and he was paid IN ADVANCE!! These are MOST DEFINITELY not the traits of a PROFESSIONAL PET SITTER!! Scottie is irresponsible in every capacity! I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND SCOTTIE PRINCE DBA POOKIE BROTHERS PETTING SITTING TO ANYONE!!! He doesn't return text messages in a timely fashion, he doesn't return telephone calls in a timely fashion -- he ALWAYS is complaining he is having cell phone problems with his Motorola phone; who cares? That is NOT the clients' problem or responsibility, IT IS YOURS, SCOTTIE!! You are running a business!! Get a reliable working phone! He also doesn't respond to e-mails sent to him for days!! **BEWARE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND POOKIE BROTHERS PET SITTING - I DO NOT RECOMMEND SCOTTIE PRINCE **

Absolutely Wonderful! Can't say enough great things about Scottie and they way he cared for my 2 girls! I'm super picky and a Rescue Mom so I interviewed many companies that just didn't seem to really CARE. I needed peace of mind and Pookie Bros gave that to me. My girls loved Scottie, he didn't rush the Meet and Greet session and sat on the floor petting and playing with them them. I left a book a instructions that were followed to a T. I'm so happy to have found them!

Kathleen did a wonderful job. I know that she had problems at first swaying the dogs to trust her but she kept at it. We received text messages and pictures from her so that we knew our animals were happy and well cared for. She did an excellent job and I would highly recommend Pookie Bros to anyone who needs in home pet services. They are wonderful and caring.

We are extremely satisfied with the service provided by Scottie through Pookie Bros Pet Sitting. We were away for a week and had him care for our dog and two cats. We will definitely use this service again in the future. Scottie came to our home a couple of days ahead of time, met our pets and took notes of what care was needed. He asked great questions and had ideas from his experience of things we had not thought of. During our vacation, he sent text messages from time to time, with updates on how it was going and even provided a picture of our pets on occasion. When we returned, our home was in good shape and our animals well cared for. We have never had this type of service before, but cannot imagine it going any better than this.

A little slow in getting text messages to us at each time of service. Otherwise their service was excellent!

Everything went well and we were very satisfied with the service we received. When my husband and I met Scott to explain what we required from him regarding the care of our cats, he listened intently and immediately made us feel comfortable having him come into our house and caring for our pets. He had some extra cleaning to do because some of the cats got into things around the house that they should not have gotten into, and we were appreciative of that. We will use this company's services next time we go on vacation.

We have use Pookie Bros twice now and have been immensely satisfied with their service. The last time I called them was on short notice and they responded immediately. They are very professional and clearly love animals. My cats were well cared for and their service included bringing in our mail and other details that made it so much easier when we arrived back home. I highly recommend them.

They were professional and courteous. They were accommodating and reliable. They are flexible with scheduling and have assisted with last minute needs. The rates are reasonable. They are very trustworthy and we trust them with the key to our home.

Things have been handled well by Kathleen during multiple trips. The house and dog were always in good shape when we returned. It sounds simple, but it is nice to have somebody that you trust to look after your pet reliably and properly.
I would recommend them.

Scottie is a young man and quite talkative. After meeting with him personally I decided to take a chance. I was not dissappointed with this service. He provided care for my four (yeah that's right four cats - last year I had zero cats long story there). When I arrived home my house was as I had left it, my cats appeared healthy and all the required services appeared to have been delivered. My only complaint was a slow follow up call. After being away for a few days I called to check in, Scotty called back two days later. I'll use his services again.
PS I'm a tough reviewer you really need to walk on water to get an A from me.

Scottie has been watching our cats since 2004 and we couldn't be more pleased. In the beginning we interviewed several pet sitters and found Scottie to be a perfect match for our kitties. While he is in tune with every animal, Scottie is a "cat whisperer" and has always been the careful caretaker to our cats when we go on vacation. We currently have 2 kitties rescued from abusive homes so they are very shy and don't take well to strangers. But, they accepted Scottie and were not hiding or frightened when we returned. Pookie Bros will keep a copy of your key, which comes in handy if you are called away unexpectedly. Then all you have to do is call Scottie and he can take care of your animals without having to arrange to pick up the key each time. Scottie and his wife have pets of their own and are active in the pet community.

I have used Pookie Bros a number of times since finding them through Angie's List. When I first met them, i was a bit nervous about leaving my dog alone in the house for days. But Scottie came out and met "Nick" before the first sitting and Nick was comfortable with Scottie. Whenever I return from a trip and Scottie and/or Kathleen have cared for Nick, it is as if I was only gone an hour. Nick is happy and I am happy :-). In addition to feeding and walking Nick, Scottie and/or Kathleen turn lights on and off, open and close blinds, bring in newspapers, carry trash can out to the curb, etc. so that it appears I am home. It is a very pleasant experience and I would recommend (and have recommended) Pookie Bros to anyone who needs a pet sitter.

Excellent! Scottie was very professional. He paid a visit to meet the cats before the start date. He did everything advertised including feeding, giving medicine, fresh water and box cleaning. I will use the service again.

Scottie came over to the house after I inquired about his services. He met me and my cat and we discussed my trip and his services. All final arrangements were made at that time. During my trip he came over daily to feed and play with my cat. He aslo watered my plants outside and brought in my mail. It was great knowing that things were in his care during my absence!

They were great, responsive, and took excellent care of my golden retriever.

Excellent. Scottie came over and met me and my dog and explained what they do. We went over him where my dog's food is kept, where his bowls are, how much and how often he is fed, etc. Scottie also makes it look like someone is home when he's there, he'll take out the garbage, turns lights on and off, opens and closes blinds, bring in newspapers, turns the alarm on, etc. When I came home from my trip in the middle of the night, it was reassuring that my dog was happy, the alarm was set and everything was in order in my house!

Scottie was extremely informative when we first spoke on the phone. He showed up promptly for our initial meeting appointment at my house. It was immediately apparent that he loved and knew how to deal with animals by the way he responded to my dog, as well as the she responded to him. He took notes and asked questions. By the time he left, I was completely confident that he would take great care of my dog while I was away. When I returned home after his dog sitting visit I could tell by my dog's behavior that she had a great experience and he had followed all of the directions I'd left for him.

I was impressed by the interview Kathleen and Scottie make before taking on a client. When I mentioned one dog takes heart medication, Kathleen mentioned it by name. One dog has mobility issues and Kathleen is great with her. Kathleen often picks up outside packages and brings them in so they don't sit out by my front door. That's just an example of the overall care that they give to their clients. We feel that Pookie Bros. has become an integral part of our daily lives. She lets me know if anything seems amiss with my girls and works with our ever changing schedule.

I was really nervous about leaving my dog behind with someone new. When my dog, Poco, first met Kathleen of Pookie, Bros., it was obvious that he liked her. Kathleen was calm and caring with Poco. She is also well experienced with older dogs. On the first evening, we had cell phone problems and I could not get through to Kathleen. I was very uptight and worried. Kathleen, however, was diligent in contacting me. She called at 10pm to make sure I had received her message (which I had not, thus I was so worried). It was great of her to have such follow through and to understand my first-time jitters. When we came back from our trip, Poco acted as if he did not miss a beat. He was happy and bouncy. If he could talk, I'm sure he would have reported great things. I also like that you pay this pet sitter AFTER the service is completed. This is a courteous and professional way to go about payment.
