Gracewood Enterprises Inc

Initially, I engaged Gracewood on Oct 6 to address wood damage and rotting wood caused by condensation within my carport, originating from A/C pipes. Despite their assurances and subsequent repairs, the problem persisted. On July 15th, I discovered water damage and early signs of mold reappearing on the repaired boards. Concerned, I promptly reached out to Gracewood via phone and left a voicemail, seeking assistance to resolve the issue. I never received a response back. Two days later, I emailed the Gracewood. In response to my concerns, I received a dismissive email, indicating that their contract did not cover A/C line repairs, despite these repairs being conducted without proper resolution of the underlying issue. Moreover, their mention of a 6-month warranty was never communicated during our interactions, adding to the lack of transparency in their business dealings. Furthermore, the cleanup after their repairs was subpar, leaving me with additional work to tidy up their mess. Including numerous nails in the yard and in our driveway. Overall, my experience with Gracewood has been highly unsatisfactory due to their inability to effectively address the root cause of the problem, poor communication regarding warranty terms, and inadequate cleanup practices. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Gracewood for home repair services.

I made the mistake of not checking here for reviews. They scratched the heck out of the closet door tracks. Al blamed that on the quality of the doors and then on me for not telling the crew to read the directions first. He fired me as a customer for complaining to him about the quality of work. I deal with a lot of subs and contractors, I wish Al the best, but I would stay away from him. He seems more like a con-artist than a contractor.

The owner met with wife and recommended a very labor intensive solution (expensive). When tech arrived we agreed on a much simpler job, but not a price. I ask the owner be notified of change and that I felt it was a less expensive. When the job was completed the owner refused to consider a lower payment. Al the owner will never have a chance to bid another job for me. Be very careful of this company.

Gracewood Enterprises Inc is super. I don't think they are cheap but they are competitive. Their work was excellent and everybody who came into the house was neat and they picked up after themselves and they were nice people.

Mr Phaneuf, owner of Gracewood Enterprises, came to our house and gave the estimate.  It was in line with others we had received.  We accepted and work began 2 weeks later.  The crew that was sent were courteous and punctual.  The popcorn surface was removed.  The first sign of trouble came when I questioned the crew as to why all the joints were not being repaired.  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was basically the response.  As an uneducated homeowner, I mistakenly accepted this reasoning.
The job was completed and paid for.  Nine months later I noticed some minor separations at the tape joints.  After four more months passed I noticed the separations were becoming more noticeable and numerous.  I called Mr Phaneuf to explain the problem.  He said he would stop by to take a look in a few days.  When I called him back to arrange a time he informed me that he had "changed his mind" about coming.  "Sorry, the warranty is up", he added.
I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau.  His written response in part read, "There is no guarantee for this kind of work past 90 days".  It's hard to believe any contractor would put in writing that his work was only good for 90 days.
A lesson learned.  There are so many reputable hard working contractors out there, especially in this challenging economy.  Look a little harder and bypass Al Phaneuf and Gracewood Enterprises.

Siding, porch railing, and porch column were replaced due to wood rot. They did a great job! On time, professional, very high quality work. I would definitely use them again.

Not happy, will not use this contractor in the future and do not recommend him to anyone.   I have also seen that he has had 3 reports on the BBB in the last 3 years as well as bad reviews here on Angies list and on google reviews.

Do not hire Al and his incompetent subcontractors. We learned a hard lesson from this guy!
