BERKSHIRE WOOD FLOORING

Steve, the owner, seemed to know what he was doing, but after receiving the order, spent little time on our job. When he did show up he yelled at his workers and called them brain dead idiot morons, and redid some of their work. The workers left a lot of glue debris on the new wood and did not know how to clean it up. There were several places that were not finished. We tried to get Steve to return to finish and do some additional work in our closets, but he would not.

Steve is up front and fair. His crew works hard and Steve watches over them to make sure everything is done correctly. He is a perfectionist and that is exactly the kind of person I want working on my home. Work was performed well and quick. I would definately use Berksire for again for any of my flooring needs.

Steve did not do the entire floor. It was discolored. He said the wood would darken, but it never did. In addition, the new finish is scratchded up from normal use after one year. He said he was going to come out and finish the job and spots he didnt do after the initial installation, so we moved  the family into a hotel. Stephen mysteriously got a back injury and never came out. He never even attempted to reschedule the appointment. So we wasted another thousand. The wood was delivered two days ahead of work; installation was completed in one day. It was a very pleasant team of workers (yes I clearly felt that they were a team not just a group of four), and the work was done in a very professional way. Steve also spent considerable amount of time in advance to help me select the wood I prefer and gave me suggestions. He brought samples of wood species and left them for me to review. I had three estimates done and Berkshire was the best (not the cheapest) and the company came out very well in my due diligence test. They helped putting protection pads in the heavy furnitures so that new floor will not be scratched.
