Never finish the job. Really bad job...... Not recommended.

I bought a deal from living social "$40 for 2 man hours of handyman work". The "deal" was a nightmare. first, hard to make appointment. Second, they were more than 1 hour late for the appointment. Thrid, charge me $80 to make a trip to HD to get some wood and silicon. Did a terrible job on repairing the column. It cost me $287 for changing out a bath sink and a few 1 foot wood column cover replacement.

I got a "deal" from the Living Social website for 2 hrs of handiman work for $40. I contacted Charles as soon as I saw the deal to see if he could do what I needed. He said he could. He told me to purchase the deal and call him the next day. So I did. He needed to get to his appt book so he requested I call back later that day. So I did and left a message. And then I called again and spoke to hime but he did not have his appt book so he requested I call back. BUT when I described the handiman work I wanted done, hang some beer signs in the lanai (on a cement wall) and install a faucet he said he can do that but he would rather paint. So then he shouldn't be called paint and repair. So I had to call him back again and I left 2 more messages. His answering machine did not have a message to say who you called it just had the generic "you contacted the sprint mailbox ..... please leave a message". Not professional. After about 2 weeks, then there was memorial day weekend and I did not get a call from this guy I requested a refund from Living Social, who I am fighting it out with now. Living Social said they contacted him and he would be happy to do the job so I should call him again. So I did 2 more times. In the mean time I did most of the job myself. He still has not contacted me. I even told him I may have a painting job for him when he is done. This guy is a very unprofessional buisnessman. DON'T USE AMERICAN PAINTING AND REPAIR !!!

They painted the outside of the house - we found numerous things left undone or done wrong - like a screen that was put back wrong and was not screwed in right which led to bugs coming in our house - the screens themselves were not painted and a section above our living room window was not painted. The hurricane shutters looked like they were not pressure washed and we were told that his son would email us a receipt. Also, they dug up all the dirt around the whole outside of the house because he wanted to paint going as far down as he could but left me to put it back all around my house - I am a widow and 77 years old. We had to get a neighbor to fix the screen so the bugs would stop coming in and he painted the part left undone above the living room window and a handyman came to pressure wash the shutters and paint the screens. We still have not received the receipt after numerous phone calls. When we asked him to come out to fix all of these things he told us he was sick and couldn't come and his sons couldn't come either and but told us he would email the receipt and after a week we still didn't get it and I called again and left a message on his voicemail and then he texted me to say I was not kind to him because I didn't ask him why he was sick - I didn't know I needed to know more than that he was sick. But we called numerous times after that and was told he would come on the weekend but never saw or heard from him and didn't get any answer when we called him - only got voicemail and left messages with no return calls. I can't recommend them to anyone because I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through this - it is really unprofessional to not give a receipt.
