Abe returned the next day to be sure we were ok, said to call if anything was wrong, and was very polite and interested in our satisfaction. A great job at a fair price.
We noticed the cracking and splitting floors and brought it to Abe's attention prior to final acceptance of the job. Unfortunately, Abe became aggressive and threatened with a lien against our home if we did not process payment with him. He promised he would repair the floors. Abe's workers came out and made the floors worse. They made them to a point that one would not believe a reputable company would actually do such inferior work. When we brought this to Abe's attention he stated that he would repair the floors, but we needed to pay additional monies upwards toward $1700 dollars to get the floors repaired properly. We decided to hire another company to repair the floors because we do not trust Honest Abe to repair our floor properly. Further, we refuse to provide him any more money.
Don't buy from Honest Abe. You will regret it!
UPDATE BASED ON PROVIDER RESPONSE: I have spent over $4400 to repair the work of your family business on my home. I have pictures and all the receipts. It saddens me that you are continuing the practice of threatening legal action the same way your family business did in 2009 as I outlined above. We contacted the BBB regarding your family business but unfortunately you had changed LLC's and we were not able to work through BBB with your firm. If your family business has improved its practices, then I applaud you.
"I don't know this person we took this business over four years ago when my father Sr past this is jr if this is not taken down immediately You will be hearing from our lawyer. Abe"
It went smoothly-this is the second time we used Abe's. Louis and Larry did a great installation.
No problem with anything. The floor looks amazing. I would use them again-but I now have my
floors all redone in wood (the rest is tile).
The lead gentleman that worked in our home was great! He explained each step and gave us his suggestions about the finish and staining or not staining. He has been in the business for 40 years?.
We felt very safe with them in our home and the work they did.
They showed up on time and were very neat in their installation. The only marks I had to clean-up were from our cat-who decided to track some of the glue-my fault for not containing him.
The floors look wonderful and we expect to have years of usage. We selected engineered hardwood with a slight gloss.
The only negative was that we would have painted the floor trim before they installed it-we did not think to ask about it.
If we choose to do more rooms in wood, we will definitely call Lincoln.
