We called Abe's Hardwood Floors, LLC after a previous contractor botched the job. We were under a huge time crunch and Lincoln sent someone out same day to take a look at our floors. Two days later, his crew was at our home and completely transformed our floors. These are true professionals that do beautiful work. They were always on time and professional. I would absolutely hire them again to refinish our floors in the future.

Abe's Hardwood Floors were recommended to me. My daughter had her floors refinished 8 years ago so I knew first had they could do good work. I called them and talked to Lincoln. I told him I was in a rush to get the floors done. Lincoln came out to the house that day and gave me a quote. Once I scheduled the work, they came out and got to work immediately. Lincoln and his crew are very nice and professional. They did amazing work. My floors look really good. I would recommend them. I wish we could post pics here so you could see the before and after pictures.

Very happy with the result. Since the floor was original, I expected it to be a little funky. Abe's blended the new with the old so beautifully, you can't tell. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Lincoln arrived when he said he would and gave us an estimate on refinishing our floors. He gave us a date that the work could be done. We agreed to have the floors refinished and the work was started on the day he said that it would. The refinishing of our floors required a little more knowledge about the refinishing process than normally would be required. We added a room to our house and made a large entry into this room from the house where there had only been a door leading to outside.  The area in front of where the old door had been was tiled and the rest of the room was Southern Pine flooring that my husband and I put down together and finished 28 years ago. My husband ripped out the tile that had been in front of the door and put new Southern Pine flooring where the tile had been. He cut out some of the original flooring and added some of the new wood flooring so that the area where the tile had been would become part of the older wood flooring. Now we had a large area of virgin Southern Pine flooring that was stark white and the rest of our flooring had warm, red-gold tones. The two men who came did the refinishing of the floors were pros. One had 21 years of experience and the other had 42 years of experience, which they put to work in staining the virgin wood flooring with expertise so it would match the older wood flooring at the end of the refinishing process. They sanded the old wood floors to remove the polyurethane coating, and when they did this the dust was minimal. They put plastic up so that the sanding dust would not get into the kitchen and removed the dust as they went. After sanding, they buffed the floors and stained them. Since we wanted the color of the stair treds to match the rest of the stair case and the floors to match the color we had on the floors originally, they had to mix stains to get the color match. The result of the staining was perfect in terms of matching the stairs and the floor color. These two professionals put two coats of polyurethane on stair treds and floors buffing in between coats. Lincolon asked if we would like to have a third coat of polyurethane applied to the floors at a reasonable price and we opted to add this third coat. I recommend that if you have your floors refinished that you opt for a third coat. We now have beautifully refinished living room and dining room floors. I highly recommend Abe's Hardwood Flooring.

Abe came out to our home to measure and provided us a quote within the day. We scheduled right away and they started work by the next week. They even requested if they could start a day early! The workers were professional and respectful of our home. The job required removal of the old carpeting and they cut up the pieces of carpeting so the garbage service would pick it up - they even moved everything down to the curb for us. They then had to sand the floors and when we returned to our home that night, there was no sand dust anywhere to be found. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. During the process they discovered one original board that had old termite damage and quickly got us an estimate to replace that board. They had the same type of wood on hand to replace the next day when they refinished the floors. All work was done within a day and a half and is impeccable. You can't even tell where the old board was replaced. Abe really knows his wood flooring and I would recommend him without reservation. If I were to search for anything that may be construed as a negative is that they don't do transitions from the wood floor to the carpeting - they do transitions from the wood floor to tile. We were notified of this going in, though, so it was not a surprise.

Everything for this job went very smoothly. There were several rooms involved which meant a lot of furniture and equipment to be moved. Louis and Larry (installers) worked very diligently and did a great job! Everything was finished in 3 1/2 days including clean up. We would definitely have Abe's back to do more work if the need arises!!

All went well. Abe, the company owner was punctual and cooperative in setting the dates and working conditions. His crew were on time and wasted no time on the job. They were thorough and competent, vacuuming thoroughly after sanding, and giving clear instructions on drying time, etc. They also asked questions to be sure they were doing the right thing (color of finish, etc.) The only shortcoming was their not taping plastic over the interior doors to adjacent rooms to reduce dust, even though they agreed to do this. Not a big deal and I did them in about 15 minutes. The final inspection revealed an excellent job.
Abe returned the next day to be sure we were ok, said to call if anything was wrong, and was very polite and interested in our satisfaction. A great job at a fair price.

Abe's Honest Hardwood Flooring did an absolutely horrible job on our wood floors. The wood floors started cracking and splitting seven days after we moved in. We had multiple areas where the wood slats moved under our feet, the slats were uneven and there were actual holes in the floor.
We noticed the cracking and splitting floors and brought it to Abe's attention prior to final acceptance of the job. Unfortunately, Abe became aggressive and threatened with a lien against our home if we did not process payment with him. He promised he would repair the floors. Abe's workers came out and made the floors worse. They made them to a point that one would not believe a reputable company would actually do such inferior work. When we brought this to Abe's attention he stated that he would repair the floors, but we needed to pay additional monies upwards toward $1700 dollars to get the floors repaired properly. We decided to hire another company to repair the floors because we do not trust Honest Abe to repair our floor properly. Further, we refuse to provide him any more money.
Don't buy from Honest Abe. You will regret it!

UPDATE BASED ON PROVIDER RESPONSE:  I have spent over $4400 to repair the work of your family business on my home.  I have pictures and all the receipts.  It saddens me that you are continuing the practice of threatening legal action the same way your family business did in 2009 as I outlined above.  We contacted the BBB regarding your family business but unfortunately you had changed LLC's and we were not able to work through BBB with your firm.  If your family business has improved its practices, then I applaud you.

It went smoothly-this is the second time we used Abe's.  Louis and Larry did a great installation.

No problem with anything.  The floor looks amazing.  I would use them again-but I now have my

floors all redone in wood (the rest is tile).

From the owner on down to the crew the work was down professionally and on time. The only blip that arose through a miscommunication on our part was handled gracefully and with full consideration. We love the new look of our old floors.

Lincoln Gifford was referred by one of our neighbors who had new wood flooring installed.  Our Mannington engineered wood floors were about 13 years old when we had Lincoln come out to look at refinishing them.  They were badly worn and faded.  We expected Lincoln to say that the kitchen was so bad that they would have been replaced.  To our surprise he said that he could sand them and bring them back.  We decided to have them refinish entire house at one time.  Not knowing if they could really bring back the kitchen.  It took about a week and us moving out of the house; but when we came home we were very pleased with the results.  Our floors looked new again.  We have two dogs and 4 adults living in the home so there is always activity going on.  I believe part of our success was the quality of engineered floors we had put in 13 years ago.  Lincoln also informed us that if we kept up with buffing them and resealing (more frequently than 13 years) that we would get good results.
The lead gentleman that worked in our home was great!  He explained each step and gave us his suggestions about the finish and staining or not staining.  He has been in the business for 40 years?.
We felt very safe with them in our home and the work they did.

They showed up on time and were very neat in their installation.  The only marks I had to clean-up were from our cat-who decided to track some of the glue-my fault for not containing him.

The floors look wonderful and we expect to have years of usage.  We selected engineered hardwood with a slight gloss.

The only negative was that we would have painted the floor trim before they installed it-we did not think to ask about it.

If we choose to do more rooms in wood, we will definitely call Lincoln.
