Cabinet Making
Our experience hasn't always been perfect but when building a house you have to make sure to order everything in plenty of time before the Contractor need the materials on site. We did run into trouble when it was time to have to kitchen insulted at a timely manner. But, the end result are that I have a beautiful kitchen.....

We were looking for a new flat screen and console. Also, we plan to do some remodeling in the future. This company came up online, so my husband made an appointment to see what services they offered. Had to provide same info more than once, and this whole presentation had a "time-share" quality about it-without the free meal. After spending more than an hour listening to how much money we would save on all our future purchases, they finallly revealed the price of membership. $5490 up front for three years and then the opportunity to renew for $250 per year to cover the 3rd (not sure how the math works here, since we were told the $5490 covered first 3) through 10th. And, the message was,"it was now or never". We told the sales rep we wouldn't be remodeling our kitchen for a year or more, so weren't ready to commit that kind of money yet. But,the rep said, once your name is entered into their data bank, you will never have the chance to become a member again-"not their policy, but that required by the manufacturers". My "F" for price refers to the membership fee, not anything we bought.

They let you renew your membership, but I did not because I had too many problems with them. There were a couple of girls in the showroom and they were very unresponsive and I did not think they were helpful and they got rid of them. The guy that was there for a long time took over and he messed up every single order I had. I sat and waited for a long time and waited for them to come in. I then found out that it hadn?t been placed right and had to be reordered and in the meantime my membership had expired. I had to go to the head lady and she had to go the head of Direct Buy till when my order came in and it was not a pleasant experience. In the beginning I ordered some vanity and appliances and those came through fine and I was pleased with that. I was not happy with them charging me $200 for a consultation when I had a membership with them. I got some plans from somewhere else and I took it to the girl there and asked her to bid it for me. She called me with a bid, but she wouldn?t give me a break down and their prices were on the higher side. I also wanted to buy a particular sofa that they deal with and they could not get it for me because evidently it was a fair trade item and there was a dealer that already carried that in the area. I bought it from elsewhere. The quality of their products was good, but they were not responsive. The people that owned the company was nice.

This was the worst experience of my life. I learnt a lot from this kind of pressure sale. They told me "you will save up to 50-80% on kitchen cabinets, appliances, floors, furniture etc. If you dont buy membership now, you will never be able to come back again". I later disputed the membership charges with my credit card co. but the merchant will not let go of it even though they have provided me zero service. Web research shows thousands of people like me have been robbed like this by Direct buy. There is even talk of class action law suites. Individuals cant do anything because of large amounts of legal costs.

My experience with them was not good. We brought the measurements from the room to them. The person that was helping us was kind of multitasking and I don't feel we had his full attention. We wound up one box short. He never mentioned the quarter round or the t-molding that we needed. I think that we could have done better price wise and service wise.

It was horrible. First, the company advertises wholesale prices but the prices the plumber later gave us on the Kohler tubs showed that they didn't give wholesale pricing. Also, they usually add on an 8% "handling" fee and shipping that really increases the cost to more than what you'd pay if you shopped regular retail. Also they charge an upfront "membership" fee of over $4,200 in order to pay these inflated prices. Plus the Kohler jetted tub received was flawed and we had to get it fixed ourselves. The kitchen design was poorly done with incorrect measurements. The height between the counter top and bottom of cabinets was less than 12 inches instead of industry standard, the microwave didn't fit and in general the design violated county code. Several cabinets were flawed. It took months of arguing with them to get it even partially resolved.
