Contractor scheduled Michael to come out 7/27 after remediation was done; I called to remind him to bring ladder needed to access 2nd floor roof-top AC unit. And to remind them the AC unit testing was MOST IMPORTANT. I have long endured mold-related health issues. During previous experience 7 yrs ago, it was the AC unit that failed his post-test & had to be re-cleaned of mold. That makes sense since mold spores are circulated through the AC system. This time I was not present when MoldXperts came. Only later did I learn that Michael didn't come, he sent his son instead (although his report states that "Fees include lab fees, MY visual inspection....", & is signed by Michael - who was NOT there. So I had to ask about son's certification to do work in his place. Then - most upsetting - I learned that son did NOT go onto the roof to post-test the AC unit; that's exactly what I'd reminded was the MOST IMPORTANT, and why I bothered to make that reminder phone call beforehand. When I called Michael later, he said that changed "law" now prevents him from opening up an AC unit; that was not true 7 yrs ago. So I asked him repeatedly by phone & several emails to please send me that law. He never did. If a new law so directly affects his business, it should be quite easy for him to access & forward that law to me. It seems to me as though his son either: A) forgot to bring the ladder despite my reminder phone call; or B) just didn't want to go on the roof to access my AC unit. SO the most important aspect of the post-remediation testing was NOT done. (The AC unit is where Michael had found retained mold 7 yrs ago, and had to be re-cleaned.) His report is quite lengthy, mostly generic form-letter. I also take issue with thoroughly misleading statement in report, "The following sampling areas were selected by the inspector and the client:..." NO, UNTRUE; That was NOT agreed on. I definitely stressed that testing the AC unit was MOST IMPORTANT, but it was NOT sampled/tested. Too many suspicious issues on this 2nd try using (one of) the Kershners. When I asked for it, why didn't he send me that changed "law" that he claims now very much affects his business? (re: opening up AC unit = VERY important whenever mold spores have been blowing around the home)?
Having suffered a long time with mold-related health issues, I take these matters very seriously; I wish he did too.
I gave him several months, after several emails & calls to respond to this request, but apparently he didn't consider it important enough.
