Thele, (pronounced "Telly"), has been doing semi-annual landscaping for me for the past 15 years. I have approx. 15,000 sq. ft. of property and all I do is maintain the grass and flower beds. Twice a year Thele stops by to see what I need done and after a 20 minute walk around the property he'll suggest cutting back some hedges, bushes, trimming trees, removing dead or poorly chosen smaller trees, In late Spring his main concerns include remedying situations to prevent potential problems during our 6 month hurricane season.
I do business strictly with Thelemark, since he is 100% reliable, is trained and Florida Certified and works physically harder, longer, and more efficiently than any than any one I dealt with in the 10 years before we met.
From what I remember, I originally went withTelly when a mutual friend introduced us, and his initial observations and suggestions dovetailed with mine.
One of the first things he did was remove a 50 ft pine that was leaning at an angle that made me nervous.
The lower branches each weighed between 30-50 lbs. He and one helper removed the entire tree in one day. Using chainsaws and rope he started at the top, wearing a safety device and started cutting. Seemed like they reduced that tree to about 25 sectionsafter removing the b ranches first. Whe they left that night, they'd removed half the debris, and finished up by 10AM the next morning.
When they were done there was nothing left to clean up. They had even raked up the wood chips and a million pine needles.
In the years since, Telly, usually working alone, has done everything from carefully thining mature trees, to planting 35 pots of cherry hedge, instead of ficus (and its destructive root system), re-sodding 250 sq. ft. of damaged lawn and removing a dozen Traveler Palms that reached 30 ft. and were killing everything they shaded from the sun. Not to mention the work I was doing just trying to keep them looking decent.
On his last visit in late Fall, I don't remember the specifics of the work. But when my wife came home, just as Telly was finishing up, she was all smiles at the job he did. And when I walked him to his stake-side truck to pay him, I couldn't help but see he'd needed 3 tarps to cover the amount of branches and trimmings he'd removed. I always get more than I pay for and have never been disappointed.
