VANN'S GARAGE DOOR

The battery backup failed to work some time later,when we had a power failure. They sent a tech back to "fix" it, and it still did not work with the next power failure. Vann himself then told me that it was an "add on" backup", and they had problems with it, since it apparently does not work with most openers. He offered to replace the opener with a brand new unit which had a built in battery backup, and said he would give me a credit for the one he was replacing. He gave me a price somewhere in the mid $200s. I called a few months later, and he did not return my call. I called at least four times, getting someone on the phone one of those times, and left messages. He never returned any calls, and I never heard from him again. I finally got someone else in who replaced the unit with one which had the built in backup, and it cost less than what Vann's was going to charge me with a "credit". Not only did this other company do a great job, but the new opener is quieter and faster than the one Vanns original installed. I would not go near Vann's again, no matter what.

The battery backup never worked. Although someone came here a couple of times to troubleshoot it, Vann later admitted that there were problems with the battery backup, that it did not work well with the garage door opener. The only option he could offer was a small refund of what it had cost, and the chance to buy a whole new opener with a built in battery backup. Eventually, I called a number of times, with no response to my messages, to talk to him about removing what was here, and installing a whole new unit. I was willing, at this point, after being without power one day for nine hours, to spend whatever I needed to to change the unit for a working one. I never heard from him, and could not reach him.

THE GUYS THEY SENT OUT DID A WONDERFUL JOB. THEY SHOWED UP EVERY DAY ON TIME. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT. THEY WERE NOT THE CHEAPEST, BUT I GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH.

THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK AND I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE. THEY TOOK AWAY AN OLD DOOR AND LEFT THE AREA CLEAN OF DEBRIS. I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE WORK.
