THE CABINET PLACE

The work was well done.  They did a good job.  But then the following year, I noticed bubbles under the material so I called the company.  A man came out and looked at it and noticed that the material was coming loose, and they were going to have to replace it with better material.  He told me it would be re-done within a couple weeks but they never got back to me.

I signed a sales contract with this company on June 19, 2007 for $909 and gave a $600 deposit. The price was high but it was a very small job and I accepted I would have to pay a premium to get it done. The contract said the work would done July 9 and it would take about 1/2 a day. The owner said it may get done sooner if the cabinet doors came in early. That was the last I heard for weeks and weeks and weeks. I finally started calling to find out when my work would be done and when I did get an answer I got nothing but excuses. Half the time I got the answering machine but no one ever returned my calls. I finally went to the shop just to make sure they were still in business. Lucky for me I had the cell phone number of Carl, the shop foreman. He is a decent man and he was finally able to squeeze me into his schedule. He got here today, August 29, almost two full months since my initial contract and it took an hour and half to do the work.

THE VERY FIRST DAY THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. I CALLED, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY CHANGED THE STARTING DATE FOR THE NEXT DAY, AND THEY DID NOT LET ME KNOW. AND THAT IS THE WAY THE WHOLE THING WENT. AFTER THE JOB WAS FINISHED, WE WERE SATISFIED WITH IT, BUT YOU CAN'T PLAN YOUR DAYS, JUST SIT AT HOME AND WAIT.

It wasn't that easy. I wanted to match my dining room hutch and buffet. That included intricate moldings, door style, wood type and color for an exact match. They not only did that, but they came more than one time to test out different colors so that I could see the colors both in the daylight and night time to get it to match just right. They contacted the manufacturer of the hutch and buffet to make sure they could match the hardware. The workers were incredibly patient with me. They were attentive and respectful. They stayed until we were totally satisfied with the job. They even called a week later to make sure we were still happy. The price was very reasonable for all the work they put into this. Between the time they did the final installation and a week after the job was done the owner (Mr Jackson) stopped by to just say hello and see the finished product. Awesome clean up when the job was completed and no dust was left.

I had three companies give me estimates. The woman who came from The Cabinet Place was much more thorough and professional. She showed me pictures of different product options and proof of license and bonding. Also, they gave me a discount from the originally quoted price of $3,960.00.
