They told me that the entire electrical panel needed to be replaced. The price quoted to replace the panel seemed to be high based on my research so I have elected to call a different electrician..

Certain main breaker panels are outdated and need to be replaced instead of serviced. We don't want our clients to spend good money on bad products. Our prices are all inclusive, our service is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, our technicians are all background checked and drug tested, and the products we use carry the highest level of warranty and home protection. We are not always the lowest price but given what we offer, we feel that we are the most reasonably priced contractor in the area. Thank you for your review.

The two men who came,. Jason and Fred, were tops. They arrived on the dot of the time frame, worked diligently, were most pleasant. After installing the celiing fan which was a bit different from the old one because I chose one with a light, and remote operation from the switch on the wall. I was very pleased with both their work and their company - we actually had fun. Fred even vacuumed my carpet after the fan work was completed. I would definitely recommend them both and their company to friends.

We would hate to do a job and then have something terrible happen due to something in the electrical system that we didn't bring to the owner's attention. The price that you were quoted was mostly due to the cost of permitting and installing top quality products in your home that are backed by warranties that are second to none. Every technician in our company is background checked and drug tested, which is important to most of our clients. We would love to have the opportunity to compare apples to apples against the other quote and ours. Our house was built in 1960 and we sometimes run into outdated electrical/plumbing etc.,. So, when we took delivery of a new dryer [from an unrelated store/purchase] we were told by the delivery guy that our outlet didn't fit the plug of the dryer [for one thing, one of the holes that the metal prongs plug into was the wrong shape; and the entire outlet was actually made for some other type of 220 appliance.] Since I don't know anything about electricity (that is probably already obvious), I asked the dryer delivery guy what to ask for [so that I could describe to the electrical companies what we needed] and did he have any idea what the average cost for something like this might be---and he said to tell them we needed a new dryer receptacle and that $80.00 would be an average cost, and that most likely we could get the new receptacle installed on the first visit since it is a fairly common, simple service. We cold-called Mister Sparky and 1 other electrical service company, and made a 3rd call to someone who owns a business that sometimes requires subcontracting an electrician [and that we trust, and often do business with] to see if their electrician was available or could suggest someone we should call. I should also state that we wanted to have this resolved as quickly as possible, because our old dryer had broken about 10 days before; it took us some time to shop for and find a washer/dryer we wanted, and the laundry was piling up, so I was willing to pay a bit more for a quick response. When we called Mister Sparky and described our problem, they said they could come by later the same day [between 3:30-6pm] for an estimate,but might not be able to solve the problem during the same visit--and that it would be $59.00 for just the estimate. I asked if they were able to replace the receptacle during the visit for the estimate, would some of the estimate be put towards the cost of the service [after all the cost of estimate time vs. small repair time is about the same] and they said no, the $59.00 would be a separate cost. To make my long-winded story short, both of the other 2 electricians we called were also able to come out and give us an estimate on the same day, but earlier than the Mister Sparky staff were able to come----and we ended up with an electrician who determined the problem in about 5 minutes, had the correct equipment on his truck when he came for the estimate, and he completed the entire job in 20 minutes and only charged us a total of $35.00 including the receptacle, which was only $7.00. Also, when we called Mister Sparky back to cancel the appointment [we cancelled by noon, several hours before their scheduled time] there was a marked difference in the tone of voice of the [same] person who we spoke to-the previously energetically cheerful voice had turned into a rather scoldy-dismissive one... In reading the other very good reviews for Mister Sparky, I did notice that mostly they seem to do whole house rewiring type of projects-and for a service like that I would completely expect to pay the $59.00 estimate fee separately, because the time involved would be so much more than for a small repair-perhaps I just picked the wrong type of electrician for my small job, but if that was the case they should have told me so-and the scoldy voice- after all, I do have the right to choose who I hire without being insulted by the ones not chosen.
Description of Work: We asked this company for an estimate on replacing an outdated 220 volt receptacle [outlet thing] for a clothes dryer. This company was one of three we contacted for an estimate. While we didn't use the company, I do have some comments regarding what I learned about this company during the comparison-estimate-service provided process.

We do generally charge a $59 service call fee. This money covers office expenses, gas, and part of the cost to get a qualified technician to your door in the time frame that we quoted. We also do not give price estimates over the phone. It is our position that we don't give estimates, we give to the penny quotes. This lets the home owner know exactly what the price will be regardless of what we run into during the job. We strive to keep our prices as low as we can keep them and still stay in business. Everyone has the right to choose where to spend their money. The cheapest option is not always the best.

We just purchased a house in Holiday, Fl., it was built in the 60's and still had only 100 amp servie with a fusebox, window AC's and some sketchy, added on, 110 outlets. Mr Sparky sent Dan Becker to give an estimate on the 2nd (Thursday), he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable. We called the office the next day (Friday) and not only requested Dan do the job, but also that they start the work on Monday (the 6th). Dan and Dave showed up early, worked hard all day and didn't leave until the job was finished. And what a job it was! They were efficient, quiet, respectful and cleaned up like they were never there. The work was neat and professional. Dan was so friendly and quick to explain anything I asked about. He was even good natured about me watching over his shoulder, while he worked. He answered every question thoroughly, making sure I understood. He not only made us comfortable with him and the work that was being done, but he made us feel like, important and valued customers. What an asset to a company! The final price was under estimate and we received a great discount by telling them we got their name from Angie's List (Thanks, Angie's List). Mr Sparky will be our go-to company and we will recommend them to friends, family and strangers needing eletrical work done.

This company does a great job of employing knowledgeable, professional individuals The gentleman who serviced our generator was punctual, friendly, efficient, and gave us some great tips on prolonging the life of our generator. We are quite happy and will continue to use their services.

Contractor was punctual, courteous and provided a written price before commencing work. He Insisted on wearing shoe covers in the house each time he passed through and was very professional. Although shocked at the price quoted, I was rushed as pool pump had been off for a week. This is not a reflection on the service engineer who did not pressure me at all, but my own bad decision-making. Another engineer responded immediately when it transpired that the replaced main circuit breaker was faulty. $700 for approx 1.5hr work and $50 in parts is way beyond what I deem even the high end of reasonable - they highlight their 3yr guarantee, however as the work is covered by code regulations and manufacturers warranties this seems redundant. Conclusion: great service, professional and courteous engineers (and nice guys, which helps!) sadly undone by ridiculous pricing.
Description of Work: I had replaced my pool pump but realized that the junction boxes were in such bad condition they should be removed, anything involving a circuit breaker best left to a professional. Poolside breaker box timer was replaced, redundant electrical monitoring box removed and circuit breaker at main panel in garage replaced with safer dual-trip version. Wires and cable protector running to new pool pump motor ( installed by myself) also replaced.

They were very professional. They came in a marked truck and had a uniform on. It was very clear they were there from Mister Sparky. They were very professional. They knew what they were doing. They came in and installed the fans in good time. I didn't have to wait around all day to have them install the fans. They were very pleasant and easy to talk to and they answered my questions.

SEE ABOVE THE FIRST TWO MEN DID WHAT THEY COULD...THE DISCONNECT WAS WHEN THEY HANDED THE JOB OFF TO THE SECOND GROUP.
Description of Work: Two men showed up promptly to check our electrical box to see if we had adequate service to add additional outside lighting to a storage building and possibly some extra lights in the back yard.. The men informed us that they did not deal with outside lighting and they would have other people come later that same day around 3:00. At around 5::00 the other person called and said he had been tied up on another job and would not be able to come until the next day. We made an appt. for the next day and he never showed or called. I don't mind waiting for people when they follow through but detest spending my time waiting and being stood up.

There was a problem with the meter box on my home causing my home to only have 1/2 power. After having it checked by the power company, I was told on a Thursday night (after 5) that it was going to be my issue to fix. Friday morning, in a slight panic, I called around to a few different electricians I found on Angie's list. The woman that I spoke to with Mr. Sparky's Dunedin office was very helpful. She assured me that someone could come see my home that day. The service man called me 15 minutes before he came to my home so that I didnt have to take off any additional time from work. He advised me that my meter box was too small and that the wiring had to be upgraded. After having signed the paperwork, he stated that he was going to get parts then come back to fix the problem and I didnt need to stay. He just needed me to shut off the main breaker. Ten minutes after I got back to work, clouds rolled in and it began to poor down rain. I was very worried that the rain would prevent them from fixing the issue and that we would be without power all weekend. Around 4pm, the service man called me to tell me that everything was fixed. When I expressed how worried I was, he said that they had done the repairs in the rain! (Now thats dedication.) He also warned me that the powerline that connects my home to the power pole was damaged and needed to be replaced. Without that warning, my home could have experienced a large power surge that would have damanged all my electronic devices. I am very greatful to the service man for working in the rain and warning about the danger to my home from the powerline. I would have never noticed the damage on my own.

See above. I am very pleased with the work. One of the only companies that actually arrived on time. Prices were excellent. Garry and David were very professional, they explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. Very clean. You wouldn't even know they were here.
Description of Work: I had called Mr. Sparky this morning because our bathroom light fixture was not working. They were able to get someone out to us that day. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and called prior to let me know. The light fixture was fixed. They also inspected my electrical box. My home is older and so it needed a new surge protector. Theirs has a lifetime warranty and a $25,000 insurance policy if any of your appliances are harmed due to a failed surge protect. We also had that installed today.

They did just what they said they would do. They also evaluated my current electrical status (I have some old two-prong outlets). They provided a proposal to address the current issues, but it was not at all high pressure sales. The guy from Mr. Sparky was very professional and very courteous. It went fine. The new box was installed. They worked all day. However, we had to force them to pull a permit -- which they did not do until after the work was completed. They never followed up and I had to prepare and file my own Notice of Commencement and make my own arrangements for an inspection by the County inspector. I still don't know if it will meet inspection standards.

They called to let us know arrival time, the two who worked our job were very polite and explained as they went along what they were doing, the job was going to take a couple hours longer and they ran into a couple of hold ups due to the outside panel box being so old and falling apart, one kept working while the other went to get new panel box, we were charged no extra for labor and were not charged for the outside panel box they replaced. Gerry and Ryan were our service electricians and we could not have asked for better.
Description of Work: would use again they took old fuse box panels , up grated wiring and replaced with breaker panels on property over 60 years old. Great job we now even have surge protectors

Arrived early. Were polite and contacted our landscape lighting contractor to ensure we were getting what he needed to properly installed landscape lights. Gary Hall performed work and did an excellent job. Gary recommended several options before he did the work and did not oversell. Was neat and cleaned up after the job was done.

Called on a special. Quick response and at my house within a few days. Very professional, seemed to understand my problem and explained it to me in an easy way. INstalled surgers within about 90 minutes, was polite, quick and smart. Pail on delivery of service, very neat, no messes.
Description of Work: Put a whole house surger on two electrical boxes since I had lots of christmas type light blowing out often and other surges ruinging equipment even tho I had surgers on many electronics, I feel safer and haven't had small lighting like Christmas lights blow out.

Solar, Appliances, Security systems (We can install ring door bells, but no other camera systems), Wiring of boats/cars/RVs/food trucks, Repair/Rewire lamps/electric furniture, Repair ceiling fans, Thermostats, City Power Poles, Apartment rewires, Meters - or anything that belongs to the local power companies (WE WILL replace a meter box or meter can, though), Parking lot lights/poles (commercial buildings), Fix or repair boat lifts (we will only run power to them), New Construction homes or buildings (we WILL remodel or add a small addition to a home or building), Pool lights, Lightning Rods, intercom systems, Repair Generators (we WILL install whole home and portable generators), Internet lines (Ethernet Cables), Military bases/jobs (we do not have licensing to get onto a military base), Commercial signs, Sprinkler/irrigation timer, High Voltage, Coax Cable (this is done by the cable company), phone jack repair or install (this is done by the phone company)
