The guy Jamie, who was sent to my friends elderly father's home to repair his A/C stole this 85 year old man's lifelong tool collection, his whole tool box was taken by Jamie. Now Bay Area Heating and Cooling will not return the family's calls, and they obviously do not do background checks like they say they do because this guy has an extensive criminal record, including theft!

Adam and Jason were very professional with the services provided. They protected our floors and furniture with drop clothes. They cleaned up when they finished. The job required cleaning the ducts, vents, air return vent. and installing a UV light in the air handler. We were very impressed with them and would hire again.

Technicians were very professional, knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my questions. Very Satisfied with service and system rendered. Technicians came out and identified a whole in the coils of my AC system. They tried to submit a warranty repair to the manufacturer, but was denied since system was not registered when installed in the home when it was built 6 years ago. Decided on going with a complete replacement since repair would have cost $2500 and new install was $5000. Figured paying $2500 more for brand new system with guaranteed 10 yr warranty was much better than paying $2500 for 1 yr warranty for repairing the coils. Definitly happy going the higher end amount since my new AC system is more energy efficient and seems to keep my home cooler without having to lower the temp. Another interesting piece of having my AC system replaced discovere that construction team that installed AC system when home was built left original box and manual that the thermostat came in behind the air handler. There was a lot of other stuff left behind too. Somewhat surprised something didn't catch on fire. Lesson and advice to all home buyers of new homes, have some body constantly monitor construction for trash being thronw into areas that can easily be coverd but can become potential hazards. This isn't the only area we have found where construction crews have thrown garbage. It's appaling what these home builders allow their constructions crew to do with garbage.

Great experience. Figured out the problem very quickly & convinced me to re-do some duct work that was improperly installed (& sized) just a couple ago to provide better flow & efficiency where needed. The secondary unit was unnecessary and although the work done was not inexpensive, it was DEFINITELY cheaper than adding more equipment to compensate for a poor design/install of duct work. Very prompt, honest & efficient with work done. I later hired them to install a Wifi thermostat and perform "routine" maintenance on my system. Again, the work was done in a thorough, workmanlike manner with meaningful feedback & recommendations. Two thumbs up.

I called Prime Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Inc and they replaced the Fan motor the next day for about $400 less then Bay Area quoted. They also said there price was $55.00 for the Capacitor that Bay Area charged me $260.78 for. Lesson Learned.

Without knowing what parts were used by the other company, it's difficult to know if their price was apples to apples. Installation of 3 Trane heat pumps 2 yrs ago (and 1 heat pump a year earlier) was completed without apparent difficulty. Total cost of units was $32,000 plus. Within 6 months one of the heat pump thermostats became erratic. Called to have this fixed but it took 3 visits for them to figure out that resetting a defective thermostat was not adequate. Shortly after that a different heat pump began pumping out very hot air while set on cooling. Called to have this fixed and service man was unable to find anything wrong so did nothing. Unit was reset and returned to working normally. A couple of weeks later it happened again so this time I took photos of the thermostat showing the bedroom at 84 degrees with setting on cooling. So called them again. They came out again and this time they thought they found a defective part in the outside compressor unit. They had to check something and said they would get back to me. However, I had to wait two weeks for them to get around to actually replacing the part. Indeed, they even tried to charge me for them coming out to "diagnose" the problem despite all the heat pumps being in their initial installation 2 yr full warranty (labor and parts). Prior to purchasing all the units I negotiated the price including 10-12 yr extended warranties which would cover labor after the first two years. We agreed as documented by emails. After the expiration of the initial 2 yrs I was contacted by the company to purchase the extended warranties BUT was told they were not going to honor their previous stated price. Since I seemed to have a good relationship with the owner, I send me copies of our prior correspondence on March 15, 2021 requesting the agreed price but got no response. I then re-emailed on April 12th. Still no response. If the company will not honor the word of its own president, it is not a company I wish to have anything to do with. This was a very poor decision to stiff a good customer.

AC quit after hours on a hot summer evening. I called and repair man showed up with in 30 minutes. AC was up and running after he replaced a faulty condenser. I was very pleased to have repair done in such a short time. The late fee charged was well worth it.

I bought a Angie's list deal for a air conditioning and furnace inspection. The deal did not specify that it was visual or that the technician would not complete the items specified in the deal details. The work was actually a technician VISUALLY taking the cover off and looking at the inside and outside units and hearing that it works when turned on. Nothing on the list in the details Angie's list was included. Manager said he is refunding my money and changing Angie's list ad. Technician was honest, knowledgeable and told me the specifics listed from the deal details that I printed, are what the do for an $89 tune-up not the inspection and that he was told that he was to only do a visual inspection. The written fine print and ad on Angie's list DID NOT specify "Visual Inspection". It had a very detailed description of the Air Conditioner Inspection including 18 items for checking the Air Conditioner including: Check the thermostat and system operation, check the filter, check float safety switch for proper operation, inspect blower wheel, blower motor, and bearings; check air flow at EACH vent, check duct connections for air leakage, check ducts for cleanliness, check drain pan, electrical heater, and indoor coil for cleanliness, check blower capacity, inspect all wiring connections, all systems, transformer, relays and contactors; check the blower speed. in addition to 9 items for the Furnace Inspection including: check air flow at each vent, check duct connections for air leakage, check ducts for cleanliness, inspect all wiring connections, all systems, transformer, relays and contactors; check the blower speed. THOSE items were not completed! I shouldn't have been charged at all and SHOULD have sent your technician away as soon as he told me that it was a visual inspection and that he could HEAR that the air conditioning was working! IF the company didn't want to do the items the specified in the Deal Details, they should not have put them on Angie's List details for the deal!
