It is hard for me to believe that someone gave this company an "A" rating.  It maybe a family member or a friend because I hire them to remodel my bathroom and turned out to be a nightmare.  I had to rent another house because I only have one bathroom....They did not show up on time after the third day even when they know I was renting another house and I needed the job done fast. There would be days that they never showed up at all.  The counter top was install (but not sealed) when I was not there.  When I came over to check the job I could not believe what I saw.  I told him it was not what I ordered.  He just kept saying it was because it was in a darker home.  But that does not account for the fact that it was not seal.  The under counter top sink was install with ugly sealent that looks dirty. The shower head was installed to high, the shower seat was installed to high.  The grout on the floor tile (which are also not sealed) started cracking before he was finished.  He only filled it in to cover the crack.  The window in the room was pushed out into the other room.  They just plastered over it hoping that I would not notice.  and on top of the the drywall was not even install correctly.  The nails (which I now understand should have been some type of screw) are popping out of the wall. So now there are holes in the wall.  The knockdown on the drywall is so smeard in places it looks horrible.  The TP holder was installed to far from the toilet.   He would have workers come to my house at 9:00 PM....I am sure  they worked all day on another job.  So there you have it.  Do now deal with this company. He gave me the story that he has been in the area for years.  I only wish I had Agnies List at the time because I would have written this review at the time.  So be aware I still have no idea why he would be so horrible of a contractor for me and get an "A" rating from someone else. I paid him his deposit and even at the end paid him in full right away....because I was so upset I just wanted him out of my house.  I think he took advantage because I am a single older woman.  One more thing ...his workers scratched my hardwood floors carrying out the ripped out bathroom tub, toilet etc. and also broke a $200.00 statue which he said he would pay for but never did.
I am not writing this to be mean.  I am a little afraid to even write this. But I  wanted to save others from the nightmare that I had and I have not have the heart or interest to correct this and have been told I would need to rip it all out and start over.    I still have no mirror in the bathroom, the grout is cracking along with the wall.  Hopefully this review will be helpful to others

"I only wish Miss [member name removed] would have brought these issues up to us in a more timely matter. Four and a half years later and this is the first I've heard of this complaint. This is also the first I've had a bad review EVER....after more than thirty years in the tile business. I'm sorry that Miss[member name removed] did not come to me directly instead of me finding a bad review, here on this forum. The issue of the customer renting another abode was not an issue at the time of construction. After 4 and a half years the details of this job are a bit sketchy, but from what I can remember, 1- The carrara marble counter top was exactly what the customer ordered and was properly sealed. 2- The under mount sink was installed with silicone exactly how every under mount sink is installed. 3- The shower head was installed at a standard height. 4- The window in question was improperly installed prior to this phase of construction and yes it did get pushed out in the removal process, as well as brought to the customers' attention and repaired while we were on the job. 5- Workers working late... When there is no one occupying a residence, it is not unusual if something is waiting for dry time to go back in the evening and touch up of check on progress. 6- Did things take longer than anticipated.. probably! This was a remodel of a 1931 house, things are bound to go wrong when disturbed. 7- As far as cracked grout, The house is a 1931 bungalow, The tile had close joints.... house shifts / joints crack. 8- All of our removal was done with drop cloths on the floor and all heavy material was done with inflated tires which do not scratch. 9- We did offer to replace the small statue that was damaged. I have not nor would I ever take advantage of anybody! Man, woman or child, It's not in my DNA. I just wouldn't do it for all the tea in China. Ask any of my thousands of customers. I would rather the customer come out on top than myself. I'm sorry Miss [member name removed] had such a bad experience, I only wish she would have brought this up to me sooner. Overall this company was OUTSTANDING.  Very professional and clean.  Well-managed and trustworthy.  The main guy had really good ideas that we didn't even think of that made our house look spectacular.  The kitchen was done perfectly, better than we could have ever imagined, the bathrooms look like spas and the floors are so gorgeous and well done that we always receive compliments about them.  The drywall and painting was perfect.  Even when little issues arose (and they will) they were always there to fix it and make it work without charging more or telling us it couldn't be done, etc.  They were easy to get ahold of.  They have been around for years and their experience shows.  I will always use them for any home project, especially with their more-than-fair prices for the quality.  I have heard nightmare stories about working with other companies... Agape Tile stands true to their reputation!

I went in to Agape, and I liked them and their design work. They have a girl who custom makes things too - she custom-made my switch plates that go on top of my tile. The plates look really nice too. I shopped at other places too but I just ended up with them. Ed the owner handled the install while an Eastern European person actually did the work. He did an absolutely beautiful job. He was slow because he was meticulous - he wanted it to be absolutely perfect. I was real pleased with them. He referred me to Oscar?s Glass who did my glass work. I would rate them highly.

They started and finished the tile floor as promised. The work was done very professionally, the installers were on time, friendly and they cleaned-up after themselves. Ultimately, I dealt with the owner of Agape, Ed Garland (not Ed Agape) and during the last 2 years, his company has helped me with a couple of renovation projects, including an entire master bath replacement, which ultimately cost me about $20,000 - Great detail work, innovative ideas, great service. Ed Garland also helped me with getting some plumbing and electrical work done. Ed is very detail oriented and takes pride in his work. It definitely shows in the delivery! Very highly recommended. Word gets around and he seems to be very busy these days. He also opened his own tile store about 1 year ago and I purchased the real stone from him, which was used in the bathroom remodeling project.
