Advanced Garage Doors

Jim is very professional and is a wealth of knowledge about garage doors and what needs replaced and what doesn't. He was recommended by a friend for his integrity and he did not disappoint. Unlike one company that wanted to replace multiple components including a new garage door opener. Jim fixed what needed repaired and tuned up the door that he said had many more years of life left. I highly recommend using him and staying away from some of the big names who just want to sell you upgrades that you do not need.

He installed new garage door on a Sunday. Found the new door keeps our garage cooler which is great considering the hot summers in Florida.

Jim (the owner) is an honest and truthful
person. I called him after my garage door opener broke. The chain was
just hanging down from the unit and it would not do anything when I tried to
open the door. I found his listing on Angie?s List. He did not have a lot of
reviews but all of his reviews had an overall ?A? rating. I also liked the fact
that he was an owner operated company, not a large franchise that has no heart
or soul. Reviews spoke of how helpful and honest he was. Jim was very honest
with me and said a repair of my old current Craftsman opener would cost me $170
or a new opener would be $350 installed. He let me make up my mind what to do,
and did not try to talk me into anything. I elected to go with a new opener and
he had it installed in no time. When finished he included a 2nd
remote free and oiled rollers on door. This was at no extra charge and I originally
did not ask for this in quote. I would recommend him to anyone. He really cares
about people and he said he wants to treat people the same as he would want to
be treated. I can?t say enough about Jim and ?Advanced Garage Doors?!

I had a spring break on my garage door earlier in the week. I started calling several garage door providers from Angie's list on Friday night. Jim from Advanced responded right away and came out and fixed both springs the next day. Jim Parker (owner) came out himself and did all the work. It took him less than an hour to replace both springs and lubricate the door. I'm very satisfied with the work that was completed and Jim beat all other competitors on price that I called. I would definitely use Adavnced again if i need work completed.

I called in the late afternoon. Jim said he was pretty close by and could come over at the end of the day.  He was here within an hour and called just before he got here.  I thought it might be a bad battery, but he said the battery was ok.  We kind of both determined that I just had a junky remote.  He got me out a new one that works perfectly.  He then checked out a few other things for me, fixed a light bulb that wasn't going on when the door opened.  He ended up just charging me for the new remote. Where do you get service like that?  I felt like it was my lucky day!  Most companies charge a lot just to come look at job and others don't even want to bother with small jobs.  If I ever have garage door problems in the future I would definitely call Jim.  He is very friendly and nice to talk to.  His motto is - if he can't fix it, you don't have to pay.  I know it's only a remote, but every time I open my garage I feel so good about the whole transaction.

Called him and within 2 days, he'd rigged up a piece of metal across the top of the door and had it working good as new.  I still have the original huge metal beam that was supposed to have been installed at the top of the door but it just will not work unless I cover the windows.  Jim was very knowledgeable about garage doors and came up with the solution.  I am so thankful that I didn't have to replace the whole door and that he charged a very reasonable price to fix it.

I was afraid to call a garage repairman as I've heard that repairs can quickly get expensive. Tried to order my own torsion springs - but couldn't find the right size in stock. Kept trying but finally called Jim with Advanced Garage.  I was an idiot.  I was without my garage for 2 weeks and he came out the day after I called, replaced both springs, oiled and balanced the door and it was working perfectly for only $215.  The parts were going to cost me almost $100 plus shipping.  Wish I would have just called him the day it broke - not to mention it is a dangerous job trying to get those torsion springs under the right pressure.

They came out at my request. I have not had any problems since they came out. They were very prompt and courteous. The gentleman who came out was very professional. They let me know ahead of time when they were going to come out. The price was very good.

Jim came out quickly to check our old garage door that is most likely the original one from when the house was built in 1970. We bought the home one yr. ago and wanted to be sure it was tuned up and safe. He is not a salesman, he just wants to make sure you get what you need with respect to your budget. As we are not prepared to buy a new garage door & system at this time, Jim focused on keeping it in safe, working order. He changed a frayed cable, leveled the door, lubricated the tracks to run smoothly, made other adjustments, and gave us advice on how to create a seal along the garage floor since the rubber edge on the door is worn out and can't be replaced. He was very nice to work with, we would highly recommend him for your garage door check and repairs.
