 + -1 moreCalled Arthur one Saturday morning. He said he repairs the type of TV we have and he could be at our house in two hours. He was on time. It took about 15 minutes for him to diagnose the problem and gave us a price to repair. We agreed and 40 minutes later we had a new TV
Description of Work: If I remember, the power supply was the problem and he replaced it or them. He was there approximately one hour and tranformed our 55 inch Mitsubishi from "we need a new television" to vitually brand new.

 + -1 moreHe arrived promptly, but was rather gruff and not very communicative. As he was fixing the tv, he received a phone call and began to loudly berate the caller, who was obviously someone he knew. He repeatedly called the person stupid. It made me feel very uncomfortable to have him in my house. The time to repair the tv was about a half hour, so I found the price to be pretty steep for that amount of time.
Description of Work: My tv would not turn on until I pressed the on switch multiple times. Arthur seemed to be familiar with the problem and fixed it.

 + -1 moreI spoke to several TV repair company's to get a 32and quot; CRT TV fixed. Most of the company's just want you to drop it off or schedule a site visit for $xx. However, Arthur took the time to discuss my options going forward. He asked for the model # and the issue to 'attempt' to roughly quantify the issue prior to coming out. It was refreshing to have someone take an interest in the problem I am having rather than just and quot;getting the site visit.and quot;

Description of Work: We called this company on a Friday. He could not come out that day but said he had time to come out on Saturday. He said the charge at the time we spoke for a service call was $25.00. The next day we heard from him and he said he could come out that day and would call when he was on his way. Giving no specific time at that point. A 12:00 noon he called and said he would be here at 2:00pm. We then confirmed the agreed upon price of $25.00. At that time he became almost irate and said "no no no its $45.00 and then started to speak in a disrespectful manner and we couldn't really understand him because of accent and then he rudely hung up on us. I then called him back to let him know that he was completely unprofessional and he then started to yell at me and complain about tolls and honestly I couldn't understand him and he was just yelling and didn't even give us a chance to agree to the $45.00 charge. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I have ever dealt and do not use this company!!!!!!!

 + -1 moreWhat a nice guy and great service! Came out the next day, called to let me know that he was on the way. He looked at the TV, told me what was wrong and what it would cost to fix it. He had the parts on his truck, even for such an old set! He worked quickly and cleanly. Such a nice guy, even programmed the remote for me when he noticed that it wasn't working properly. I can definitely recommend him.
Description of Work: All of a sudden, my old school Sony TV wouldn't turn on. I really like the picture on the set and didn't want to just toss it. Googled the problem and learned it needed professional service. Since it weighs over 200 pounds, I wanted in home service. Called Arthur, he answered right away, asked a few questions and said he could come out the next day. His service charge is $45, which I consider reasonable.

Description of Work: Our huge Sony HD TV just stopped working. He came 2 hours after I called, examined the TV, explained what was wrong and the cost, fixed it, and vaccuumed up afterwards! It worked beautifully. He's very professional.

 + -1 moreExcellent work, very thorough. He removed (unsoldered) some bad parts, resoldered replacments, cleaned it up and in a few hours it was done!
Description of Work: My 32" mitsubishi tv had only a red horizontal line across the middle and that's it. Art came over as promised, replaced some parts and the tv never looked better in years. I couldn't replace it for what he charged me. Great job.

 + -1 moreI called Arthur's to see if he could fix my tv. He said it would be $35.00 to look at it. He could come later in the afternoon. He called me later that day and said he would work late and come to my house after 5:00. That did not work for me so I asked him to come the next day and he agreed. After looking at my tv he said it could be fixed and it would be $185.00. I agreed and he fixed it on the spot. He is very professional and helpful. He saved me from having to buy a new tv.
Description of Work: Repaired my 2003 Sony Triniton TV.

 + -1 moreI called Arthur based on his reviews here and he lived up to expectations. He was very accomodating, coming to my home the same day I called, and after I was off work (he was here at 6:30 pm). His charge was only $35 for the estimate which was applied to the work performed. He quickly diagnosed the problem and evaluated my TV which helped me decide that it was worth fixing. It only took about 30 minutes. He was careful and clean in his work and moved my TV back to where I had it when he was done (which I was very concerned about as it is a large cabinet model on a swivel base, and hard to move). He also provided a 90 day warranty. He said he services all TVs, new and old. I am very happy as I love the TV and really wanted to keep it.
Description of Work: I have a 32" RCA TV (an old tube model). The picture was squeezed like an hourglass in the center of the screen. He replaced a circuit which fixed the problem.

 + -1 moreAfter playing a bit of phone tag, we scheduled service for the television. Arthur was there pretty much on time. He quickly diagnosed the issue, removed the circuit board and all the connections, replaced glue connections with solder on the circuit board, cleaned up after himself quickly and was gone in slightly more than an hour. The television worked perfectly and continues to do so. We were very pleased.
Description of Work: We have a 10 year old Proscan 32 inch television. The sound suddenly went to static and we needed the service.

 + -1 moreHe was on time. I am sure he diagnosed quite quickly. He had a code to reset the TV (it was a code that you enter using remote). Took less them 15 mins. He knows what he is doing. He initially said he would charge 30 bucks for the visit. He asked 65.0 I guess it's for having the knowledge of code that I didn't. I am glad I was able to get a person who knows what he is doing vs paying for someone who does not and end up taking a lot of time.

He said that if he couldn't fix it, then he would not charge me that much. He was totally honest about the whole thing. He fixed it, and I would say that he knew what he was doing.  + -1 moreArthur responded immediately when I called and showed up the same day in the afternoon. He said he charged $30 to come out to see what the problem was, which I thought was incredibly low. That charge is waived if a repair is made. He started by using the TV controls to troubleshoot and immediately identified what the problem was. He clearly explained everything and made the repair very quickly once we authorized him to proceed. I was very impressed.
Description of Work: Arthur repaired a 65" wide screen Sony projection TV. There were red shadows on all the images. Problem was with one of the electronic chips that coordinate the three projectors in the TV. Arthur recommended replacing both chips, which we agreed to do. He performed the work efficiently, vacuumed out the inside of the TV and inspected everything. The problem was resolved and the TV works perfectly with a great picture.
