Arthur's In-Home TV Repair

We have a big screen TV connected to a sound system. The sound quit unless using Netflix through our DVD player. Arthur came out and repaired the TV and also took time to see that everything was hooked up properly. I couldn't be happier with his service and knowledge.

Arthur was extremely professional and considerate in my home. I would highly recommend him for TV repair. I called about 10:00 am and he said he'd try to come the same day or following day. He phoned to keep me informed and arrived by 1:00 pm the same day. He carries his supplies with him and uses a blanket on the carpet to work on. He is very neat and cleans up after the repair. He also assisted me in placing the large TV back in it's built-in space. If you need your TV repaired in the North Chicagoland area, call Arthur first!

Arthur was very professional and punctual. He arrived at the date and time we had agreed on. He diagnosed and fixed the problem within an hour.

It went excellent. Arthur is a true professional. He came to our house for a $55.00 diagnosis with all of his tools and voltmeter. He diagnosed two circuit boards as the problem. He came back a week later with a board that he fixed using a kit, and a new version of the other circuit board. The new version did not work, so he told me he would go call a Panasonic help/tip line and get back to me. He ordered the original version of the board with overnight shipping and was back in 3 days (Friday-Tuesday). The board, as well as fixing another diode, fixed the TV. Overall Arthur was very professional. He was available via phone and always called when he had updates (since this was a multi-visit operation). I would highly recommend his services if your TV is broken before trashing it and getting a new one.

I called Arthur and explained the issue we were having with the television. Arthur scheduled to come over the very next day. Arthur diagnosed the two issues we had, dismantled the components from the television that needed attention, as he offered to prepare everything in his shop (after receiving the replacement parts) then re-install them in our home. It took Arthur a bit of work to get to one of the parts, as a large portion of the television was dismantled to reach the faulty unit. It took Arthur a week to get the new parts, prepare them in the components he had taken with him and ready everything for install in our home. Due to the amount of pieces that had been taken out, it was a bit concerning that everything would come back together. Arthur came over as scheduled, re-installed and calibrated the new components, leaving our television in 100% like-new condition. All with no leftover parts! Arthur is a very straightforward and focused individual, who demonstrates his knowledge of modern electronics through his superior work. We are happy with Arthur's work, pricing and punctuality and would recommend his services highly. The convenience of having his services performed in our home, without needing to haul the television to his shop, made the entire experience well worth it.

We called Mr. Saakov late on Monday afternoon, June 23rd. Our TV had developed fine lines across the bottom third of the screen. He was able to come out first thing on Wednesday morning, June 25. He was prompt and was quickly able to diagnose the problem as a faulty chip in the screen. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He suggested that he find a replacement screen and said he would call us back by Monday, June 30. He charged $50.00 for the house call. Over the next several days, we decided that we would rather replace our TV than repair it. We did not hear from Mr. Saakov on that Monday, but since our decision was made, we didn't pursue his further assistance. We bought a new TV on Monday, July 7. To our surprise, Mr. Saakov called us on Wednesday, July 9, saying he had not yet found a replacement screen and wanted to measure our set again. We thanked him and told him we had bought a new TV. Would we call him again? A qualified yes. He knows TV's, but any customer of his is going to have to follow up more closely than we did.

He came to our home within the hour, identified the problem, and fixed it easily. Excellent experience with this TV technician. The problem was power to the on-off switch and Arthur also identified what not to do if this ever happened again.

Arthur was friendly and helped me diagnose the problem. Arthur was not the most professional in terms of appearance.

We contacted Arthur, he showed up did what he said he would do and the TV is working great now. Arthur was efficient, polite and kept his word. We highly recommend this guy. Very reasonable price and Arthur is very respectful of your home. No drama no games just comes in and does his job. Really like this guys work ethic.

He wasn't the friendliest of people. The charge for the part seemed a little high but he was punctual

Worked very hard to repair old television set, Made two trips back to his shop, but could not find the needed parts for my old television set, so it could not be fixed. After more than two hours work, charged only $48 service charge. Very fair and honest.

We were having issues with our flat screen TV not turning on (just kept making clicking sound and cycling). We googled the model and apparently it's a common problem, despite only being 4 years old. We called Arthur's TV Repair and he came out the same day. He took it apart right in our living room and determined the problem (power supply). Quoted us $185 to fix (plus $45 service fee for trip) so we agreed to the fix. Took him about 45 minutes, and he guarantees his work for 90 days. The TV has worked fine ever since. We had to wait an extra day for him to come back as the part was on national back order and he had a hard time finding the part. He called the next day and came out that afternoon, replaced the part and the TV works fine! He was very professional, friendly and seemed to know his stuff. I'd use him again in a minute! He does charge a $45 dollar service call fee, but that was substantially less than other places I called...like Barrett's...they wanted $95 to come to the house! That's CRAZY!

Arthur charges a $45 in-house visit fee, but that's rolled into the cost of the repair. I called him on a Monday afternoon and he came out Tuesday morning. He explained what the problem probably was (he's very experienced in dealing with all manner of TV problems) and what it would cost if that was indeed the problem. He opened up the TV and checked it which verified his suspicion (a problem with the power supply). He again went over the cost and the repair, explaining that there was a small chance this repair wouldn't work and more would be required. I told him to go ahead, and he repaired it in about 20 minutes. The fix worked, and he was done! Professional, courteous, competent, prompt and fairly priced. I can't think why anyone wouldn't want to work with him.

Ack, I really, REALLY wanted to use Arthur. he has good recs on Angie's List, is local to me and I like to support local companies. However how hard is it to be polite when someone calls. At the very least you could have waited to hear what I wanted. Next up, when I hung up, you could have used Caller ID and called me back to apologize.

Arthur committed to call me back and tell me how to fix the TV which he didn't do.

First appliance EVER for which we did not buy an extended warranty, and at 14 months old, our TV went kaput. Arthur's In Home TV Repair was the only company I called. Arthur returned my call in a timely manner and came out that very day to look at our TV. He was able to locate the problem. Before he ordered the part, he gave me a call to tell me the cost. About a week later, Arthur installed the new part. TV's been working great since. His work came with a 90 day guarantee. I think we'll know by then how the part is working. All in all, Arthur is a very nice person, professional, and caring in how he treated our custom made entertainment center and TV. He placed a blanket on top of the center before turning the TV on it's screen so he could remove the back. I would use Arthur again and would recommend him to anyone who asks.

.Came out next day after call. Diagnosed problem as bad electronic board. Fixed board on site by repairing and soldering components in place. Took a little over two hours. Clean projection tubes. Clearest brightest picture we can remember. Very professional and created clean work space for work on TV.

We had a great experience. We scheduled the initial visit within a day or two of our call. Arthur's came back as soon as the part needed came in. The new part turned out to be defective. So they reordered and returned just a few days later with a new (new) part that worked. The part cost about $250. The repair was just about $50 per visit, not including the visit with the defective part for which there was no charge. Super easy and fast and reasonably priced. We are so glad we don't have to get a new tv! We would absolutely call Arthur's again.

His disgnosis of the TV problems was quick and he will get it fixed when the part arrives. He even showed up on a Sunday. Nice man.

Our 11 yr Mitsubishi 55and quot; Flat Screen HD TV went out when we lost power. We tried to re-set with the help of Mitsubishi's customer service department, however after we tried to re-set it, Mitsubishi recommended we call a repair man. They said something inside on one of board's was probably destroyed when the power came back on by an electrical surge. We made the appointment with Arthur to come out on Saturday and he was very prompt. He diagnosed the problem in about 10 mins. He then gave us an estimate to repair the TV. He repaired and cleaned the set which t took about another 35 to 40 mins. We now have a better picture on the TV and we are very happy with the service Arthur provided us.

Arthur arrived on time and his performance and clean-up was very good. Took about 1 1/2 hours and was very satisfied.

Arthur came on time, and he was very responsive to any calls I made. Unfortunately, he misdiagnosed the problem. Upon taking the back off the TV, he thought the mother board was at fault and needed total replacement. However, he and quot;forgotand quot; to write down another part number he needed, so he had to come back again. He then ordered what he thought was the correct part, he came and installed it and it was for the 42and quot; instead. He claimed the company he ordered it from was at fault and re-ordered another one from another supplier. He came a few days later and it was again the same 42and quot; motherboard. Now we talking FOUR visits and 14 days into the problem. He said he would try again. Now, I was extremely skeptical and had had enough. At this point, I had to do something so after calling 5 more repair people on Angie's I finally found one who correctly diagnosed the problem for $69 and low and behold, it was NOT a faulty motherboard. He saved me $300 in additional costs because of the incorrect conclusion and was able to fix the problem in under 30 minutes. Although Arthur's seems to be highly recommended, the technician neither tested other peripherals or the set top box first, but instead said I needed a new major part, which was totally incorrect. Unfortunately, I would never use him again nor would I recommend him.
