Finally, someone on your side. Buying a house is stressful, and it seems everyone is trying to do the least amount of work, and cut every corner, except for Kim and Darren Anderson. I clearly feel my house was reviewed by Darren as if he was going to buy it for himself. Every detail was clear and thorough. You might find cheaper, but you won't find better. Thanks again!

This was the most thorough home inspection I have ever seen. He probly saved me several $1000 in costly repairs after new construction. He is well worth the money!

Darren arrived timely.  He inspected our home, including lot and grounds, plumbing, A/C, insulation, siding, roof, electrical, porch, garage and a whole lot more.  We received a written report the next day with explanations, comments and pictures. The report listed  the different items inspected, provided comments and a determination as to whether the items inspected were "acceptable", "marginal" or "defective".  The report was professional and easy to understand. 
Darren provided a copy of the report to our home builder.  
Darren caught items that were not up to code -- that even the city inspector had not identified.  One item identified in the report, relating to some concrete work, was a concern to the inspector and us.  
The builder reviewed the report with us, accepted Darren's comments, our fixed most of the marginal items and all of the defective items, including the questionable concrete work.
I highly recommend Anderson Home Inspections.  Well worth the cost.

Darren spent a ton of time at the home with me (the buyer) and explained everything he was seeing and how it would affect the report. He took pictures of everything and the report he sent was almost 50 pages long, and there were very few things he found to be "deficient." He went above and beyond, pointing out things he wasn't even required to report.

Darren, and his sidekick Ian, provided two inspections for me over the last two weeks. The first house was in such bad shape that I decided to move on and fortunately I found another great house. I had no doubt about hiring Darren Anderson for the second inspection as well.
I have worked with three inspectors before Darren on prior houses I bought (as well observed two others on houses I sold), and he was by far the best. His reports are very detailed and yet easy to understand. He helps the customer distinguish major from minor issues. He and his office are easy to reach and highly responsive.
He is a very reasonable and focused man, and will give good insights.

Darren Anderson is prompt, courteous, and extremely professional.  My husband and I have utilized his services twice for home inspections, the first home was found to have significant builder errors.  We couldn't get over how thorough Darren was and would recommend him and use him again in the future.

Our house burned down in 2010 and Darren has been out 3 times to inspect since the rebuilding process began (not including spot inspections for single or narrowly focused issues).  Darren combines very thorough knowledge of building code and construction disciplines with an incredibly exhaustive approach to the inspection (all 3 inspections took 3+ hours to complete) to produce a comprehensive report that is all but impossible for our General Contractor to contest.  The reports generally run to 30/40 pages but are very well organized, easy to read and loaded with photographic and textual documentation.  This latest inspection (final) uncovered a couple of issues, that while easily remedied, if gone unattended could produce, respectively, fire or flooding.
Conversely, Darren does not look for issues that are not there.  As I said, my GC has not contested anything that Darren uncovered in the course of the inspections. 
He arrives promptly for appointments, and as a rule, the report is issued within 1 to 2 days (usually 1 day).  
I would recommend the use of an inspector for the purchase of ANY house (new or resale) but Darren is by far the best that I have utilized (this is the 4th house I have had inspected) and his reasonable fee buys peace of mind (especially for a complex, custom re-build -- our latest house).

Darren was at least a 1/2 hour early for the scheduled appointment and was already going over the AC/heat pump condenser when I arrived at the property. The house was a bank owned foreclosure and being sold in the "As-Is' condition so all findings would have to repaired at my expense & labor or by a contractor at my expense. Any major findings & I would have backed out of the purchase contract. Anyway, Darren explained the inspection process, showed the ethics guidelines and inspection contract which are also available on his website. He was very personable and pleasant and listened intently to my concerns about areas that I noticed during my walk throughs prior to making a purchase offer. Once he got started, Darren was very methodical and went over every finding with me so I understood the nature of the issue. He answered every oddball question I could think of regarding potential remodeling ideas that might help fix some of his findings. The house was 30 years old and most of the problems, thankfully, were cosmetic or simple repairs. Darren tested every accessible electrical fixture, bathroom fixtures, appliances, windows, doors, heat/ac, pumps, water heater, ducting, fireplace flue, attic elements, insulation levels & really didn't miss anything in his 5 hour long inspection. Darren has a great depth of knowledge in the construction, repair & maintenance of the homes in this area. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a very thorough home inspection.
