Showhomes North Pinellas/Pasco County

Use another company. While Carol Ackerman, owner of Showhomes of North Pinellas/Pasco County, is a good decorator, she was terrible to deal with once I had a buyer. As soon as she heard there was a contract, she wanted to remove some of the furniture I had already paid $2.500 to rent. She literally argued with me about this for 20 minutes, insisting she needed it for another home. I reminded her she'd required me to rent it for a full three months and that I had two more months left on the contract. I refused to allow it. I was astonished. Later, Ms. Ackerman told my realtor we'd set a move-out date. She had not even talked to me, e-mailed me or communicated this to me in any way. My realtor understood that the move-out was going to be on the 21st (we were to close the 23rd), but suddenly we were told we were mistaken -- the move-out would be on the 19th -- five days before closing. Well, my closing almost fell through. Further distressing me, someone from Showhomes of North Pinellas/Pasco County used the lock box and entered my house without permission on the 18th -- six days before closing and removed some of the contents. This violated the contract. My sale went down to the wire as to whether it would even close. I wonder what would have happened if it had fallen through. I bet she'd have charged me another $2,500 to return the furniture I'd already paid to rent. There are many other staging companies. Choose someone else. Staging does matter. It sells homes. But choose someone who works with their customers. Choose someone who makes sure you are escorted to the finish line, rather than abandoned as soon as they see an excuse to remove the furniture so they can make money renting it to someone else. I do not recommend Showhomes of North Pinellas/Pasco County and would never contract with this company again.
