TruGreen Lawn Care - 5765

The lawn looks much better than it did before using them.

I want to try to have a better looking lawn. I haven't really researched any other options.

It has worked out pretty good, so far. They are supposed to be coming, like, every other month. We had some problems in the beginning, but they came back out for no charge. I like that they listened. They listened to my complaints when I told them I still had weeds. They were pretty good about that -- about sending someone else out. They are very prompt. My interactions with them were pretty good. The representatives have been great. To get a better grade I guess they could do better with pricing. They could be a little less pricey. I think they are rather expensive.

They're always courteous.  They always knock on the door to let me know they are going to be in my yard. They come out one a month.

They’re excellent, very nice. They always show up, they do a very good job. He is diligent in what he is doing. He notices all the bad spots on the grass and they’re very detailed. We are still using them. For overall rating, they’re an “A” and I think the driver makes it an “A”, because he’s excellent. I think, it’s an excellent value for the dollar. It’s a scheduled service and they come when they want. They always show up as I said, I mean it’s not like we call them up and say we’re in danger, it’s a lawn service.

At this point, I guess the service wasn’t that good. It was $47.49 for each spray. The additional service was for the same amount of $47.49.

I used TruGreen Lawn Care for several years and was not happy with them. 

What I didn't like was I told them I would like a call a day before they came because we have dogs and I didn't want them to come with the dogs out.

They weren't very good at it, they would come out and suddenly I would hear the dogs barking and they would be banging at the front door saying we wanna spray your lawn  please take your dogs in. I didn't like the fact that they didn't always call ahead they've called ahead and never showered up.

There were certain weeds in the grass and they would come and say we will spray for that and in two to three week that should take care of it. Well it didn't. I finally called and told them I was going to find someone else. 

The people in the office were always very nice. Actually the guys that come out are nice to. The purpose is to have a nice lawn and that result didn't happen. 

I recommend they take care of the details.  If there's problems with weeds make sure they are taken care of. Spray it and come back to make sure you have taken care of the problem. Don't just wait another six weeks or for the next application you come out and tell them "what about those weeds". They don't take care of problems and don't follow up on problems. If they call that they are coming out, ya know be there. Don't show up without calling up.

Their treatments haven't been as effective as I would have hoped, but overall it's been a good experience.

Terrible, except in the end I did get my lawn fertilized for free, since I never requested that service.

The experience was fair. Their professionalism was pretty good.

When I hired this company (based on reputation up north), I told them I didn't care if the lawn glowed in the dark, so long as it was green and weed free.  They talked a good game, but never got even close to getting rid of the weeds in my front yard, and the weeds in my side and back yard actually got worse.  They kept pushing additional services every time they called, and if I ever said yes to one of those additional services, they kept billing me for it until I called and complained.  They would treat the yards and bushes just before it rained (sometimes just minutes before) and never re-treat after the rain.  The final straw was when they claimed I hadn't paid them for three months, which was very unlikely since they were getting paid monthly via direct EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) from my bank.  Even with printouts from our bank they refused to admit we paid them, so we sent a physical check to cover the whole amount, which they cashed.  They then turned us over to a collection agency!  I finally got ahold of someone at TruGreen who actually looked at their records and found out that they had been crediting someone else's account with our payments!  I never got an apology or a refund.  Stay away from them!

I contracted with TruGreen for both lawn and tree/shrub fertilizer and pest control after having new sod and shrubs installed in April. I canceled the tree/shrub service after a few applications because I felt the application fee of $50 was high for the amount of shrubs that I have. I am canceling the lawn service now because in spite of my numerous calls concerning a a browning of my new grass in the back yard, their applications did no good and the blight is spreading up the sides to my front. I sent a letter to both the district office and the headquarters and received no response so I had Hulett stop by for an examination and estimate. The tech was very informative and seemingly knowledgeable and found evidence of webworms, chinchbugs, fungus, weeds and crabgrass - all of which apparently went untreated by TruGreen. Will update with my luck with Hulett.

Would not recommend this company because of their service and watered down products.

This company is okay. They are not bad but they could be a little better. They run a very professional crew that is neat, clean cut and on time. My main complaint, I guess would be that the weeds in my backyard are quite out of control however the front yard looks great. They also respond quickly when I call them.
