Thomasevich Construction, Inc

Started off OK but then started getting the nickel and diming BS. Charged me $36,0000 for ONE day with one guy on a bulldozer to move two truckloads of dirt around. That raised some red flags and my suspicions were confirmed when I had another construction company come out for a quote on Thomasevich's off day. They quoted me $5500 for same job. So there is the first ripoff. Still, it was early into project so had to suck it up. Anyway long story short, they did substandard work on the house, floors un-level, and after we called him on out it out of us, he stopped coming and did not complete the job as agreed and contracted. Didn't pour the concrete or stairs for the decks of finish the grading outside, etc. We had to pay other contractors over $50,000 to finish the job he contracted for AND got paid in full by the bank. Basically soon as he got paid, work was over. THEN, started getting invoices in the mail and found out he didn't pay for some materials from a vendor and that vendor put a construction lien on our brand new house for over $17,000. I reported him to the State but they said they were so backed up with contractor fraud that getting resolution could take a lot of time. Luckily, I kept every single note, check, logged every single conversation and had airtight records. Finally now a few years later state finally contacts me and requests everything. Did I mention that on a couple of payments that we owed him he instructed us to make the checks out to him personally instead of Thomasevich Construction? The state took notice to that and now the IRS requested check copies as well so maybe karma does work. Moral of the story, OUR EXPERIENCE WITH ELIAS THOMASEVICH AND THOMASEVICH CONSTRUCTION WAS TERRIBLE. After they were paid they didn't complete the work and had to get another company to come in and do it. Add to that a nice $17,000 lien on my house and he ripped us off for almost $70,000. During our construction project, we worked with over 50 different contractors. Most performed as promised, a couple of them were amazing and went way over and above and out of the 50 only two were absolute nightmares: Eli Thomasevich and Thomasevich Construction, and Mark Robbins of Academy Electric (changed the name to) Big Wave Electric. Hoping karma will get them when they ripoff the wrong guy. If any of those folks do bid for your job RUN FAST AND AS FAR AS YOU CAN and consider yourself very lucky.
