It is with great pleasure that I write this review. We have been a customer of Robert R. McGill for many years. Last year they shared with us that our AC is on its last leg. The end of last month FPL had multi power surges which added to the demise of our slow dying AC unit. We reached out to McGill about our issues. They sent out Steven to speak to us about purchasing a new AC Unit. He listened to our concerns and requirements of what we needed and wanted in our new ac unit. He took the time to go over our unit, duck work and explained many other details we were not aware of. He answered all our questions and more. Within in 72hours of ordering our unit it was installed by an amazing crew on one of the hottest days. With temps in the high 90’s the crew was at our home 8am and worked till the job was done. They were very professional. We are very thankful for the great service. We are enjoying our new cool AC. The Fletcher Family

Horrible Company. They don't even know how to fix a new system they installed. Never, ever work with this company

Robert R. McGill Air conditioning & Rheem assumed no responsibility in the interior deterioration of the unit they provided and installed. They were only willing to discount us approximately 15% on purchasing a new $7000.00 unit. Why would they think we would Trust them to do the right thing NOW. We are extremely disappointed in a supposed Family run air conditioning business. Robert R. McGill Operations manager wrote in closing "I will add that other Major Manufactures of A/C equipment do not cover damage caused by hostile environment under their warranty's." This means even though my system totally deteriorated from the inside only within only 5 years . When it actually breaks even though I have a ten year warranty it will not be covered by Rheem because it was determined by them it is due to environmental conditions. My neighbors air conditioning unit sit approx. 25 from my unit on the same side of the house and is 3 years older then my unit and has minimal exterior rust only. It is obviously a superior unit to Rheem because it hasn't totally deteriorated due to environmental conditions. I guess the Rheem rep would have been able to evaluate the situation better if he just visited my home. It wasn't worth a trip for him. We are extremely disappointed and will make every attempt to explain our situation to everyone who asks us for an opinion on hiring an A/C contractor and/or the Manufacturer.

Their service is great. I have been with them for about 20 years now, and would recommend them. We pay about $220 a year, and they come about 4 times. If there is an emergency they will even come on weekends/nights, if you have a contract. There is no charge for the service call. They will also give a small discount on repairs if needed.

NO problems. Technician was very friendly, helpful, efficient and effective.

The job couldn't have gone better! I thoroughly researched A/C companies and got quotes from a handful. Robert McGill was affordable and gave the impression that they were trustworthy. In hindsight, this trust was well placed. They were on time, took care not to destroy my house, did the job right, and took care of the little details. The city home inspector came today and made a comment that he likes Robert McGill jobs because there is never anything wrong. Violations cause more work for them. Talk about an unsolicited endorsement! I would highly recommend this company!

The cost seems like about 170 bucks a year and they come twice a year.

$390 for a 30 minute service call. NO diagnostics were run. Me and the two men from McGill agreed that a humming compressor with no fan turning seems like a blown capacitor. They they removed two screws/cover and we could see the capacitor was damaged. They grabbed the part off their truck and replaced it, turned the breakers on and we had cold air. When ZIMMER AIR came to my home, it was $160 or the repair, and yes, we called them first but they were busy until the next morning, and Lance at ZIMMER warned my fiancé to stay away from the companies with big adverts in the phone book for some reason.… Shame on us for not asking the price up front. McGill charged me $272.00 for a 2-part capacitor that I can buy on Amazon for $30-40 all day long.

meanwhile, I played phone tag with Derek, who was going to explain the charges to me. I don't want explanations, I want at least $150 back on the job.  

Go to google and type "how much to change a air conditioner capacitor?" and the answers were between 140-250, which was what I was expecting. Maybe they have a "Palm Beach Dahlings" charge they apply to the "Got-Rocks" of society? We're not them. So, let the buyer beware, McGill is in it for the money. My next contact will be with the Department of Professional Regulation, always go there and forget the BBB, they are defunct and worthless…

PS: As far as promptness and professionalism on the part of the repair men, I give these guys a A. The price that followed is a fat"F".

There was no drama and problem free.  Very through and completely efficient. 

They are very good and we have been using their service for three years. They know what they are doing and are honest. They saved us a lot of money when installing a new compressor over our previous hvac company. We have been very happy with their services.

Went very well. They came on time, did the job. While they were working they ran a portable air conditioner so the house was never hot. The new unit is up and running and after almost three weeks is just fine. Gave me a fair price and have serviced my previous air conditioner for over 10 years. Highly recommended.
Without exception, whenever I needed help and called, they came out the same day.

Overall, the experience has been very good so far. They were able to fulfill the warranty and the work that he did that day was outstanding. They've always done a good job with the maintenance, too. We've been very happy with their services! They've also been friendly and competent.
