I was having these gates installed at my home in Florida where my son's family lives (Benjamin Evans)
I contacted Protect-a-Tot through email, phone and text.  They were slow to respond.
David Escosa came to the house for $35.00 to make recommendations.

In every contact about the gates I requested an Auto Close gate.
I was sent (via email) a quote for the gate options.  I requested the brands of the gates which I never received.

At installation, May 5,  David told Shannon that the auto gate is not guaranteed and he installed a different one.  When I saw it five days later, I did not feel it was as strong as gates my family uses in Cincinnati through Safety First.

Ben had a problem with the roller gate as the dog got under it which could be a problem when the baby starts crawling.
Ben contacted David and personally talked with him.  David was to come to the house on May 9.  I called to confirm and he never got back with me and never showed up.

Several days ago, the latch for the gate at the top of the steps broke.  This gate has hardly been used since installation, May 5, as the steps are not an immediate concern for the baby yet as he is not crawling or walking!

I have called Protect-a-Tot numerous times and left messages and have called David Escosa numerous times.  There is never an answer and they never return my call.

The total cost of the gates was $500.  I researched the gates and saw gates under $100 but felt it might be safer to have them professionally installed.   I requested a receipt after installation with the brand name of the gates and still have not received that information.

There is NOTHING professional about this business.  The check was made out to David Escosa,  Is this business a scam?

avid is obviously someone who is very passionate about his job. He did a thorough walkthrough of my home and gave fantastic tips to protect my 7 month old... most of which I could do myself. He had a simple, do it your self solution for all my concerns. In the end I had him install 3 retractable gates at a fair price. That was the least of the benefits of his consultation. He showed me how I could install the other childproofing on my own and even gave me special screws and a magnetic drill bit that made my job a lot easier. To top it all off, he showed me and my wife how to properly put my child in the car seat. For those who think they know the best way, you're probably wrong. This advice alone was worth the price of his visit. Awesome experience and would definitely recommend.

Not only was the work done well but I feel like I learned how to protect my child around everyday safety hazards. It didn't feel like pressure was given to protect every possible scenario. They explained the risk and my wife and I made a bunch of decisions quickly while feeling fully informed. Definitely suggest using their services.

David came over to do an inspection of my home because my daughter is about to start crawling. He was extremely professional, punctual, and courteous but most importantly he was very very helpful. He gave advice on keeping our home as safe as possible. He also told us exact products to use and how to install them. He provided an estimate with what it would cost for him to completely fix everything, but he also gave me a complete range if options and info on what things I could do myself. I highly recommend at least getting an estimate. From there you will see the worth in what they do. Would definitely use again.
