JMC Contractors

The upstairs condo owner had work done by this company so I decided to ask them for a quote to do some renovations in my vacation condo. Little did I know that this contractor's work left severe water damage on my bathroom ceiling, behind the tiled wall and outside the bathroom on a ceiling where the damage ran the length of a hallway. I had already made an appointment for other renovations with this guy so I decided to keep my appointment with him thinking he would fix the damage he that he KNEW he had caused. When he arrived at my condo, the first thing he said was I needed to refinish all my ceilings. I thought this was strange since I called him to install new kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and rip out some closets and consolidate them into one big utility room. He told me I could not reconfigure the closets UNLESS I committed to ripping up all my tiled floors throughout my condo! This was ludicrous when all that was needed was to put a threshold across the doorway to the utility closet! This guy came in as a salesman and not a contractor. He bragged about doing a job that went $50K OVER BUDGET then blamed it on the "wife" for having expensive taste. Well, I received his quote and I see WHY this guy is OVER BUDGET! His quote to build one 7' x 7' wall was $5500. Blue board only cost $20/sheet. He only needed 6 sheets of blue board and about 10 studs! Materials would have cost less than $500. SO his labor cost was $5000 for a wall that would take about 4 hours to build. That's $500 per hour for labor. There were other egregious charges that amount to PRICE GOUGING! Buyer BEWARE. I own a Construction LLC in MA and this contractor is not ethical. Stay clear of him if you value your money. By the way - he is blaming the damage he caused on the upstairs condo owner saying it was damage caused BEFORE he did the work. I can attest that the damage was not there until he did the work upstairs. I would not trust him to do my work. I can't afford to be $50K OVER BUDGET! I've had two other quotes since his that were 1/2 the cost of his quote.

Once completed, JMC went over exactly what was done and answered all of our questions. We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome! Joel and JMC Contractors are trustworthy professionals who are passionate craftsmen. We highly recommend JMC Contractors!

This company is outstanding. Joel came to my home at the set appointment to review the job. I had major concerns since I have mahogany wood flooring leading to the master bath. The concert floor in the master bath had to be cut 12 inch deep and 5 ft. across. Joel assured me that he has done work like this before and he would not ruin my mahogany wood floor leading into the master bath. On the day of demolishing Joel showed up with his team and put a subfloor down over my wood floor and sealed off the master bedroom so no dust went into the room. They broke down and removed the subflooring every night before they left my home. Joel was the only contractor that I interviewed that gave me the security that he’s done this before. Joel’s team was professional and on time every time. I would highly recommend this company and I plan on using them for my future remodeling jobs.

It went well. They were referred to me buy a friend. I would recommend them. They gave good suggestions.

JMC Contractors totally gutted two condos and put them together as one. They are not Handyman they are Licensed Contractors!!! It was a year project. They are knowledgeable, professional and excellent at what they do. Brothers Joel and Joe Magner the owners of JMC Contractors and their staff made my condo beautiful. Joel worked with me before the project started taking me shopping for tile, stone, plumbing, floors etc. Meeting with my architect several time and me weekly for three months before the project started. His brother Joe is the On-Site Director, he is on the job daily, all day. He schedules all the trades and manages everything on-site. He is very level headed and knowledgeable on all aspects of the project. Their employees are wonderful, honest, skilled workers. They are trained in all aspects of remodel. They work with amazing subs. Everyone they work with has the same work ethic as they do. The brothers communicate daily and meet several times a week at the job site. Everything is reviewed and communicated. It is a very hands-on approach and we met daily once the job started. They made decisions very easy because they are experts at what they do. They worked well with the condo association and building management following all the rules and regulations. I highly recommend JMC Contractors for any job small or large. They stand behind their work. They made my dream home.

They were prompt, friendly, and clean. They were very accommodating and patient. Joel and Joseph did anything I asked to make me happy. They worked quickly, and it was $50/hr which was very reasonable.
