We called in four contractors to look at this problem/project. Joe arrived on time for our 1st appointment looking at our kitchen "leak" problem in our 50+ year old block house. He was honest in his assessment stating that until we removed the countertop & cabinet he really wouldn't know what would be in store. We knew the sink cabinet would need to be removed along with the Formica countertop. He said he would have no problem removing the kitchen cabinet and rebuilding it for us using the original face frame and 3/4" maple plywood. When it came to the countertops he said was you don't need me for the countertops, go directly to the granite company that I deal with. (the other contractors that came out were going to do the job including the counters thus increasing our price) His original estimate which excluded any plumbing work was very fair, and he was willing to work with our time frame once we had a date for installation of our new countertops.
Once we had a date for countertop installation Joe came over a couple of days earlier to remove our old cabinet and see where the leak was originating. It turned out to be inside the block wall. Joe proceeded to demo the area, and replace the damaged copper pipe and re-plumbed with pvc, and reinstalled the new cabinet. Once the counters were installed he returned to complete the plumbing hook-ups (new sink, new faucet and existing dishwasher). This turned out to be on a Saturday which he usually doesn't work, but he was sympathetic that we had been without a kitchen sink for several days and was out 1st thing to complete the job.
He returned all of our phone calls in a timely manner during this project. His price was fair for the cabinetry work performed and we were extremely happy with the price he charged for the "unknown" plumbing work.
It was a pleasure to deal with a contractor who was honest, hard working & has old time work ethics. We have another project on the horizon and look forward to working with Joe again.
followed every facet of the proposal. He offered recommendations as the project moved forward which
increased the overall satisfaction of the job. We feel that he would be an asset to your listing.
