Roof was done back in Aug. 2015, currently having a roof leak and this shady company will not honor a warranty. DO NOT work with this contractor they will turn their heads when you have a roof leak so they do not have to waste their labor and materials from their shotty work previously done. They do not believe in customer service.
Response from Gulf Atlantic Roofing Corp

"Hi [Member Name Removed]! Back in the day written false words were considered Libel and were against the law. I guess in this day and age it's called "blasting" as you told me on the phone yesterday. As I indicated, we are not and never were in privity with you or the current homeowner. When the home was purchased, you told me the home inspection company noted your roof had no issues and hasn't leaked for years with all the rains. There has been a hurricane and tropical storm force winds since the home was purchased. We are sorry your are having trouble."

Work was well done and Richard was personable and professional however unseasonably wet weather prevented a timely installation.

Rain water is leaking between gutter and fascia board. Contacted Gulf Atlantic who came out the next morning. Nick, the owner, thought he could use caulk to stop the leak. If that didn't work, he would come back to lift roof tiles to find where the problem was. We agreed on two prices, the work he did today, and if he had to return. He caulked where he thought the leak was. Next week it rained, and the leak was still there. Tried contacting him many times over the next several weeks. Left a number of messages for him. No response.

"I am presuming that you sent this a year and a half later because you saw a few wonderful ratings! Unfortunately we do not recall a small repair from March of 2016. The fact that we were out the next day should reflect an A for Responsiveness and the fact that we only charged you a small fee ($150) should also be an A for Price. We return all of our calls, just like we respond to these types of reviews. We hope you have a wonderful day."

I had 5 areas of leaks as seen from the inside of my home. Nick from Gulf Atlantic came over with the preferred contractor from my insurance company. Insurance will pay to correct the damage inside but not the roof. Nick gave me a reasonable quote to fix the leaks. When the tiles were removed for the repair it was observed that I might have many more leaks then seen from the inside. I asked Nick for a quote to replace the whole roof. Nick again gave me a very reasonable quote which included the work already done. It took a little over a week to get the permit and work began with Nick always available and usually on scene to supervise the work. 3 other areas were found to have major leaks when all the tiles had been removed. We knew we made the right decision to replace the roof. All the tiles were removed, 2 layers of waterproofing were applied all done in 3 days using 5-8 men a day. All trash was cleaned up daily and hauled away daily. Each evening a magnetic roller was used to collect any nails in the grass. I live in a gated community, and the work was observed daily by representatives of the community. A few days later thetiles were delivered by the tile company and placed on the roof. The next two days a team of 5-7 men showed up to lay the tile. Nick supervised the trickier work and also did the more complicated areas of facia. The last day Nick came with only one man to do final touchups and cleanups. Nick repainted areas around the house and gutters. It was an efficient well done job. Nick had a great team and was an excellant supervisor. Only time will tell how good a job was done.

I am so sorry I didn't belong to Angie's list when picking a roofer -- I would have probably gone with Ambatt.  My house in the Acreage was thoroughly inspected inside where there was water damage, as well as the roof.  Gulf Atlantic drew up a contract which included replacement of rotten wood and fascia and masonry, which they did not do satisfactorily.  As a result, after the roof was replaced, water stains appeared on my ceilings and walls in the same places as before the new roof.  After many calls and communications they came to inspect but now claim the leaks have nothing to do with the new roof, but is due to other structural issues.  The first proposal they made was withdrawn, and they then proposed that I hire a mason (at my own expense) and that they would charge me an additional $2,400 for work, most of which should have been included in the original contract.  The new damage to my interior is, at least in part, caused by the chimneys.  The roofer should have known that I would continue to have leaks and water damage as a result of this, and at the very least informed me so that I could have had it repaired before further damage.  The company admits the contract they drew up was "ambiguous" which of course doesn't help me now.  I have to pay a contractor an unknown about of money to remove the damaged sheetrock as soon as possible to prevent mold, conduct a water test to determine exactly where the water is coming in from, and then replace the sheetrock and repaint as well as doing all the extra repair.  The roofer was supposed to do this water test, but never did.  I have to replace and repair the interior (I have no idea what the cost will be), and also incur an additional expense of more than $1,600 for the masonry/chimney repair.

the area that they repaired still leaks.   i have called the owner a number of times, written him a number of emails, and he never responds.   my next step is to go to court to get him to repair it.
i have also had some other roofers come by to take a look at the roof and they told me i got robbed by paying 7000 for what he did.

Told the owner that the wrong flashing was used in the sample area -- it did not cover the fascia boards.
He said he would take care of it -- he never did (probably because he was rarely on site).
Now a couple of years later there is dry root all over the fascia boards.
Never responded to my phone calls or letters.
Never received warranty documentation for life-time shingles.

They have a fast response time, they are straight forward, and Eric is very personable. Everything looks like it's okay for the time being. He told me I only have about 2 years left on the roof.

Gulf Atlantic Roofing was recommended to me, two days after moving into my 27 year-old "as is" house. The rains had begun in earnest after the inspection. You might say that I was in desperate straits. Eric, one of the partners in Gulf Atlantic, answered the phone (his mobile). Eric gave me the estimate at the promised time, charged a reasonable fee and was very professional. Eric was on the jobsite during the two days needed to complete the job.
