If I could leave ZERO STARS I would. This company does not complete the work as per contract. Employees DAMAGED MY BRAND-NEW WINDOW, DAMAGED MY WATER SUPPLY, INSTALLED DRYWALL COMPLETELY OVER MY SMOKE DETECTOR CONNECTIONS!!! The walls are sanded so poorly it requires three COATS OF PAINT AND I CAN STILL SEE THE HORRIBLE SANDING. I had three separate painting contractors state this is the worst drywall install they have ever seen. Owner is rude and does not check the work. Three days after receiving an invoice he PLACED A lien ON my property instead of correcting mistakes. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Response from Dunn Rite Construction
"Hi [Member Name Removed], we are disappointed that you feel this [Member Information Removed] considering the owner did go to the jobsite on Monday Sept. 9th to review your concerns and had them corrected. In the picture with the bottom corner of wall 1"x1" area at baseboard level that someone knocked off. Typically this isn't a concern because baseboard covers it, but we fixed it for you that day Ken talked to you about it. As for the well you said we broke, this looks like it would break itself if it turns on. As you can see there is no drywall mud on the ground only blue paint. When finishers went to use the water at the end of the day, the pump was already broke. When we had our finishers there you also had painters and stone applicators there, but we got blamed for the pump, even though it's clear there's no drywall mud on the ground only blue paint. The pictures showing spot was a bug that got wet in the texture after we sprayed the texture. Nothing that we be our fault. The picture does show that a smoke detector outlet was probably covered by drywall. If she would have called us, we would've located the outlet without having to repair. We typically don't have those issues because we're able to mark on the concrete slab where each outlet is but due to the fact she was polishing the raw concrete floors we could not mark out outlets. The window she shows a picture of was opened by the stucco crew and not by our guys. It was actually the guy who was mixing the mud for the stucco guys that did it. Poor guy just opened the window and the window fell out not his fault either. The mark she shows where somebody got their hands muddy and rubbed it on the wall. This was done well after we left the house. We know this because the texture had to dry when they did this as it did not rub off the texture. It typically takes around 3 to 12 hours for orange peel texture to dry. That would be well after we left this house. We did go ahead and fixed that for her as well."

I CONTACTED KENNY AT DUNN RITE CONSTRUCTION AND HE CAME TO MY HOME TO ACCESS WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO FIX IT ALL CORRECTLY. THE AGREED COST WAS MORE THAN COMPARABLE FOR THE AMOUNT OF WORK REQUIRED TO FIX ALL THIS. HIS CREW SHOWED UP ON TIME MORE THAN READY TO WORK, WE HAD TO LEAVE THE HOME FOR 3 DAYS BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF WORK WAS EXTENSIVE - SO WE LEFT THE FOREMAN A CAMERA ASKING THAT PICTURES OF THE ENTIRE REPAIR PROCESS BE TAKEN AT EACH STEP. WE RETURNED AT THE ESTIMATED TIME THEY SAID IT WOULD BE FINISHED AND WHEN WE DID - THE JOB WAS DONE. UPON REVIEW OF THE PICTURES, ALL WORK THAT WAS DONE WAS WELL DOCUMENTED JUST LIKE WE REQUESTED. THIS COMPANY AND THEIR PEOPLE DID SUCH AN EXCELLENT JOB FOR US. OUT HOME WAS CLEAN WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED, AND AFTER REVIEWING THE PICTURES AND SEEING HOW MUCH WORK IT REALLY WAS IN ORDER TO FIX THIS CORRECTLY - IT WAS ACTUALLY A PLEASURE TO PAY THE BALANCE OF THE PRICE AGREED. NOT MANY PEOPLE TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK ASSURING THAT THEY DO THE BEST JOB POSSIBLE - BUT THIS COMPANY SURE DOES !!!

They were here for 4 days and they did all their work in that amount of time and finished it. We had to have them close up the hole where the plumber worked because the plumber doesn’t do that kind of thing. They were nice enough to do the work at the end. That final day they had 6 people working in here. They bill was from $4,000 to $6,000, which we were a little bit shocked. I don’t know if I want to give them an “A” for price. I’ll give them a “B” for price. I’m giving “A” for everything else because they were good, their work is impeccable. They’re not inexpensive, but the better the work, you always pay a little more. I’m debating to put them on the fence whether they’re an “A-“or a “B+”. The price was the only issue that came up with them. I would use them again because they’re work is very good. They came recommended by our painter. I believe if I remember right looking at the quotes we had, that they were less money than the general contractor that we were using for the rest of the work that was done in the house.

Excellent - from cost estimate to clean up this company has its act together.  They are professionals and did a good job and were neat, timely and had a quality assurance supervisor that taken together resulted in a great final product.  They arrived and protected the floors, hung plastic to contain the dust and were in with a good sized crew so the work went quickly.  It was dusty - but they did what they could and cleaned up after themselves.  Very happy with results.

Good from start to finish.  Easy to set a time for an estimate and received a written estimate by email within a day.  Crews showed up as promised, worked together as a team and knocked out the work in one less day than estimated by coming back on a Saturday morning to finish up the job.  The team did a good job with preparations to keep the mess and dust down - drywall is a messy job by nature but with the plastic hung between the job and the rest of the house the dust didn't spread throughout the house.  Very happy with finished product and would us them again.  Not the lowest bid, but these guy are professionals and if you need drywall work and want it done quickly and correctly, Dunn-Rite is a good choice.

My husband and I had built a new dividing wall before the holidays and weren't finding the time to finish it.  Additionally, we had removed some built-in shelving units from another wall, and needed them filled in and finished with drywall.  We also have ~900 sq ft of ugly flat ceiling that needs a texture to hide a bad drywall job...

Dunn Rite gave us two estimates:  $3000 for everything including the ceiling texture, and $1800 without the ceiling texture.  We do not know how competitive the prices were since we did not have time to get several estimates.  That said, we decided that completing the walls was worth $1800 to us so we contracted with Dunn Rite to do the work.

Everyone was professional, polite, and on time.  The job was excellent, finished in the time promised, and all messes were cleaned up.  Would not hesitate to hire Dunn Rite again!

I contacted Dunn Rite Construction based on their positive reviews here on Angie's list.  Jenny responded right away and scheduled a morning appointment with Ken the next day.  He arrived on time looked over all the damage and promised a quote by the end of the day.   I received a quote right away.  A friend of mine is a former contractor and he said the quote looked fair and if I felt good about them then go with them.

Spoke with Jenny, sent the deposit and she told us they would be there at 7:30 am on Tuesday, Dec 3rd.  Two guys showed up in two Dunn Rite Construction trucks at 7:25 am.  I was sincerely impressed by their level of preparation.  They practically covered the entire upstairs, downstairs, and stair case with plastic and blue tape to protect everything from dust.  Then they enclosed the work areas with plastic as well.  Then they covered the floor with cardboard to protect the floors.  The first hour or two was preparation.

The first two guys removed all the bad drywall and insulations and then swept the floor and cleaned up.  Then they hung the new drywall.  Swept the floor and cleaned up.  I asked them if a separate crew would be coming over tomorrow to do the finishing.  They said "no, the finishing crew would be there in an hour."   Sure enough, four guys show up, put on the stilts and go to work mudding and finishing.   When they were all done, they cleaned up and said another crew would be back at 8 am the next day to spray the textures.

Once again, the next crew showed up early at 7:55 am and got to work.  The texture of the repaired walls matched EXACTLY the texture of the unaffected walls.  Other than the lack of paint on the repaired section, you couldn't tell where the repairs ended and the unaffected walls began.  When they were done, this crew removed all the plastic, swept the floors and moved all the furniture back in place.

Without a doubt Dunn Rite Construction was one of the best contractor experiences I've had and I've had a lot.  The crews were punctual, courteous, efficient, professional and the quality of the work was excellent. I was very impressed and would use them again and recommend them in a heart beat.

Thanks Ken, Jenny and your whole team.  This was truly a stress free experience.

Overall very happy with the job and the crew was very professional and worked well into the 2nd evening to finish which was appreciated. My only concern was the tape took off a lot of my wall paint and though that was stated in contract I didn't fully understand so I was glad I still had my paint for touch ups. Special thanks to Shawn and his team!

Timely response to my request for estimate.  And even thought the job was smaller than they usually do, they agreed to take care of it for a fair price.
The work was done very cleanly, plastic runner was placed down the hall and at the work site to avoid a mess.  The workman was very meticulous about doing the job right and the result is excellent.

WOW - AWESOME.
I had several bids over the last 6 months and the contractors that bid
the job were very pessimistic about ?matching? the existing
ceiling pattern. Several even refused to bid....
Found Dunn Rite - a family run business - thru Angie's list and they were
spectacular. Came for the bid when they said; came for the job when
they said; taped and removed furniture and did a great job.
Now the rest of the story.... the reason I needed my ceiling redone is
because I have a windmill on my roof which shakes the roof... my
wife noticed a crack 2 days after they left. She called the guys;
they came out and redid the crack at no additional cost and said
they'd come back again if needed.... it is 30 days late, no crack (
and the windmill has been cranking) and the ceiling looks perfect.
Need I say more!

These guys mean business!  they showed up with a caravan of workers and within 30 minutes knew what they had to do and got started.  They tented the work area to keep dirt and dust out of the rest of the house.  they came in the patio entrance so as not to leave footprints and dirt in the house and before I knew it the old drywall was removed and replaced with new drywall that looked perfect.  The joints were done with 20 minute compound and were smooth as silk and ready to paint that night.  No sanding!  the knockdown guy was obviously an expert because in 10 minutes he prepared the wall with the nicest knockdown I have seen.  I will use these guys for ANY drywall work I need EVER.

Ceiling work. They "bagged" the room so little dust escaped. In and out in 2 days, very nice job, would recommend. They have been around a long time in the west Lake Worth area, small company
