Cost Plus Roofing

Description of Work: WE hired Roman Structures dba Cost Plus Roofing to install our barrel tile roof. After we closed on our property and chose the tile, it took Chris Carothers the owner to apply for the permit. It than took him from May 10th until June 18th to get the permit approved. He took 3 weeks to even respond to the city of Boca Raton's comments. After dozens and dozens of emails and texts he finally started the job. He blamed the weather, the crew, the dumpster company etc for all the delays. Than the job would get delayed again. We since fired him this week because of more lies. In the meantime, the layer of "peel and stick" is falling off the roof. The tiles that were placed on the roof are pulling it off. He put nails in the furring strips without covering the "membrane", so now I have holes in my new plywood. Since than, the work crews have come to our house looking for him, because he has not paid them. He is a lying sack of..... and we just hired a lawyer. We even went online to check his license and he is licensed with the State of Florida with no complaints. I will be changing that!

Description of Work: Cost Plus Roofing is state licensed and we checked online. He was referred by our realtor. He gave us a low bid to do the job and than charged us for additional problems. It took him a week to apply for the permit, 3 weeks to address the comments from the city, he blamed everything from the dumpster company, weather, crew, you name it. He lied constantly, but we already had given him a large deposit and just hoped he was honest. It ended up he hasn't paid the crew and they are now coming around the house looking for him, he didn't order enough tile, so we are short on tile. The peel and stick is being pulled off because the tiles are pulling them down. He nailed the furring strips to the roof without laying a membrane so we now have holes in the new plywood. We are now taking legal action. But he has stopped answering our calls.
