October 2024, Would have given a negative rating if i could, Gave a written estimate of a great affordable price but at the completion of the work doubled the price stating that he made a mistake with his estimate so pay me more and more money will be appreciated and at your discretion since the mistake was made at his end. My whole point was the reason you had the contract is because his quote was $300 cheaper than my other contractor and i dont even have any to make it as a donation with the property taxes coming up and than he got aggressive to a point of harrasment demanding taht he needs to be paid doubled now, claiming didnt recive the very first 60% payment, claiming he had corrected his price over the phone and it was agreed upon. A very clever tactic to double the price and beg it off as a symphaty but then when there are no funds for other to pull out gets aggressive and starts to harass. VERY VERY clever tactic havent seen it in a while. Stay Away!!!!! would be my advice I got burned by him hope you all out there dont get hurt.

They were too much in a rush to complete, I had to point out faults during work,they did not remove all of old tile cement. Causing new tile to be uneven. Did not let tiles dry 24hrs before applying grout and to check for unlevel tiles.Ran appliances over new laid tiles as soon as they finished. Did not seal grout said I did not need to. Had him come back to point out uneven tiles his response was the tiles are defective. After arguing and attitude he said he would return in July. After numerous attempts to text,voicemail and calls I have no choice but to warn everyone STAY AWAY FROM ARANTES USA TILE CORP

Update: 8/17/15 - After numerous attempts to contact him since May, thanks to Angie's List, they contacted him. Finally John Arantes/owner of Arantes USA Tile Corp advised me that the only day he could come was 8/19 and he would only replace around 5 tiles. Also this would be the only day to do the job as he is very busy with other jobs. 8/19/15 - John arrived with a helper. He was argumentative again, indicating the tiles were defective, thus directing the blame away from him and accusing a big box store of defective tiles. This is utter nonsense as he personally removed old tiles in hallways. He did not remove all thin set leaving uneven surface thus uneven tiles. At no time was a level used to check for uneven tiles. Again claiming defective tiles, not his workmanship. After the arguments, he finally started the job but only replaced 6 of the 12 tiles that needed to be replaced. His excuse was it costs him $60 dollars per tile to replace thus costing him money. I pointed out that there were more tiles to be replaced and he argued that they only needed another layer of grout, it will look good after the grout dries. He left and was to return next day to grout newly replaced tiles. THIS REVIEW IS FOR AUGUST 19 2015 To be continued

They gave us a great estimate, it was very affordable. They finished the job on time.

We got a few bids for our Master Bathroom remodeling project from folks we found off craigslist, and John Arantes was by far the easiest and most knowledgeable person we communicated with. We chose John because he was extremely nice and down to earth - unlike some of the other contractors who didn't say much or provided vague information.
We were pretty clueless about tile so we had a lot of questions--what type is best for our bathroom? Where should we get it? what size? how much? John answered them all, giving us lots of options and even suggesting the best tile stores to shop at for good prices. This was important, because we weren't getting any good feedback or advice from the other contractors we spoke to. He did an amazing job, from start to finish. He helped us out a lot by picking up our huge order of tile from the store for a reasonable fee. We would have had to rent a truck to do this ourselves. The result is our Master Bathroom looks 100 times better than it did before the remodeling. Overall a pleasant contractor experience--fair, precise, neat, and professional.

They did a wonderful job. They were professional and punctual. They were a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

THE PERFORMANCE THEY ARE PROVIDING US WITH IS EXCELLENT. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE AS WELL AS USE THEM AGAIN. THEY ARE VERY HARD WORKERS.
