I am only writing this review to protect other innocents from the same disaster I suffered at this man's hands. First, Alberto is a nice guy but he doesn't listen to his prospective client's at all. He speaks very broken English and has an "I know what I'm doing attitude." Also, he works very fast and is in and out in under half hour. I believe his price of $170 was plucked out of the sky when he saw our beautiful home. I should've listened to my intuition and said good-bye right then, but my husband gave approval and I went along. He took accurate measurements and was back two days later with the cornices. The master bedroom cornice was fine, but the bath cornice was nothing but a plank of wood which he screwed two elbow brackets into on each side. He proceeded to drill holes in my wall and I said,"Wait a minute! That's not a cornice. It's a plank of wood and it's not what I pictured at all." So he re-measured and the second time, he made an acceptable cornice. Meanwhile, I covered and decorated the bedroom cornice which he left and it was ready to be hung. I called him on Friday and said it was okay to come on Sunday. He insisted on coming on Saturday. Once again, not listening to what I was saying (BTW I speak fluent Spanish). I got annoyed and said it had to be Sunday or forget the whole thing. So, Sunday morning he arrived and hung the master bedroom cornice way too high. By this time, I was on the verge of tears and anxious to get him out of my house. He hung the bathroom cornice just fine, but not before leaving black scuff marks from his sneakers on my roman tub and knocking down some crystals off a nearby small chandelier. Fortunately nothing broke. After throwing good money after bad, I called a local professional carpenter. He came, made proper measurements, took his time, re-hung the bedroom cornice, made sure I was happy and left. Total cost: $25!!! A lesson learned: never hire anybody w/o at least 3 references. Listen to your inner voice. Keep subscription to Angie's List!!!
Description of Work: Made and installed two wooden box cornices, one for master bedroom and second for master bath.
