"I recently visited Angie's List and noticed this review so I wanted to address this issue. I appreciate you taking the time to voice your frustration with your experience. First off, we always try to do our best to be on time and complete projects for our customers. In this case we were not able to meet your needs and for that I do apologize. Since this project was almost a year ago we have taken many steps to improve our operation. We have now hired a full time project manager to oversee our crews, we have also reviewed our current work force to keep only the best and most reliable painters. The employee that did not show up on the day that we planned no longer works at this company. Since the new hire of a project manager it has allowed me to be on time for 97% of all our appointments. As for some of the issues that you mentioned in the review: The reason that I had to withdraw from the project is I felt that we would not be able to meet your needs after not being able to provide a full crew, rather than continue to tie up your time I thought it was best if we left the project. This is never a goal, and at the time I thought it was best for both of us. I did offer $60 and you did accept and cash the check, which was not mentioned in the review. I also want to clarify that no painting was completed, aside from minimal preparations that we were able to do in the 1/2 hour we were there. I don't recall you asking us to replace any furniture or window treatments which we would have certainly done for you. I only remember that after I told you we would have to withdraw from the project and I offered you the check you asked me to leave your home. Which I did. I do agree that this was not a great start for a new customer and I wish we could have completed the project and painted the home, I am sure that if we had been able to do the work we would have a much different review of Five Star Painting. I am glad that I saw this review and was able to make improvements to our company as well as clarify some of the details of the interaction as I remember it.
