Kurt is a standup guy. In the beginning, we had some issues with timeliness'. But Kurt made it right and kept his word. The weeds are gone and I'm completely satisfied with the end result. I strongly recommend Weeds Gone, Inc.. Besides the delays, the guys were very nice and hard working. I would use Weeds Gone, Inc. again.

Do not hire!!! Completely unprofessional! No show no call. Workers left cigarette butts all over the yard. It’s been a month and the project is still not done. Total rip off and a disappointment. Kurt is a crook! He should be ashamed of himself.

so at First I wanted to adopt these guys --worked fast the the area and cleaned up. Paid . On further review--they did not complete the job as contracted. 3 calls and 3 promises and 3 weeks later still waiting for completion. If done right and /or came back and finished as promised the 1st time or even the 2nd time would be a better review.

I left a message at the Weeds Gone number in the morning and the call was returned that evening by Kurt, who runs the company. He made an appointment to come by and give me an estimate a couple of days later on Sunday. When giving the estimate he explained his services, prices, and scheduling and gave me an information sheet. The one thing he stressed was that although they would try to keep an appointment it was quite possible something would come up due to weather or illness and require them to reschedule. I've seen some reviews that complained about scheduling, but he was very clear that rescheduling could be necessary. His crew of four guys arrived on the appointed day and spent about two hours doing the work. I then inspected it and was satisfied so I paid them at that time. Kurt had explained to me that if I had not been satisfied I could withhold payment and discuss it with him to resolve any issues. They did a great job and I had no problem with approving their work. The tree trimming added about $100 to the price, so that seemed a bit pricey since they only spent maybe ten minutes or so doing it to trim it away from the roof. But the weeding requires considerable time and effort and I felt that the $300 was worth it to avoid having to spend an entire day trying to do it myself.

The first time I had this company come and clean up the flower beds they were responsive and did a great job. The next time, things started to go downhill. The next time, gardens were not as cleaned up as the first time. Kurt didn't really seem to have control of his company. I had paid him in advance, but between his unreliable help and his personal issues, he just couldn't get the work done. When I called to tell him I was a bit upset with waiting, he indicated he had just had his appendix out, but he would come and start weeding anyway since he couldn't get a hold of his help. I told him not to, but he did. He was pulling a weed here and there, carrying a small bucket...it was silly. He said his doctor told him to stay home, but he didn't want to disappoint me, so he was going to weed. I told him to go home, which he did. I do want to give him credit for promptly returning my $50.

When I initially met with Kurt, he indicated that the new mulch would be laid all around the house at a depth of 2 and a half to 3 inches. He said that mulch would also be laid between the back of the hedges to the foundation wall along the sides of the house. There is concrete scalloped edging around the bush beds in front of the house which he said would be raised up a couple of inches. He quoted me two prices...$640 if paid by check and $575 if paid in cash. Naturally I chose cash although I found these price options quite peculiar.
Kurt was present when the work began (9:30 a.m.) for a little while then was gone while his 3 workers commenced the job. About 2 hours later, his senior worker left to go to another job site leaving 2 younger workers to finish. I work from home and was inside on conference calls, etc. while the work was being done outside. Around 2:30 p.m. one of the workers knocked on the door to announce that they were finished and was looking for me to pay him. I was on an important business call and was only able to stick my head out the door to take a quick look and to hand him the cash. I had him sign a receipt for the cash on the back of the original estimate. I was surprised that Kurt did not show up to not only collect the cash payment but to determine if the job was done according to the original estimate. Not even a phone call to ask me if I was satisfied.
Early that evening I did an inspection. Using a solid measuring stick I discovered that the mulch was only 2 inches deep in just several locations and that overall the depth was just one inch. On the north side of the house where I keep the garden hose rolled up on a hose caddy, there was no mulch at all. All they had to do was move the caddy then put mulch down. There was no mulch laid down between the foundation and rear of the hedges along the south side of the house. The scalloped edging along the front perimeter was never raised.
I called Kurt on May 9th at his published phone number and got his answering machine. I left a message stating my dissatisfaction. Today is May 14th and I have not received a return call from him. I have sent him an email today together with photos of the issues enumerated in my email to which I am waiting for a reply.
To be continued...

This is an update to my original review from 5/14/2014. I finally received an email response from Kurt on 5/17/2014 stating the following, and quot;I went by Wed afternoon (soonest I could get back out there) and saw what you described. We will be back out Tuesday.and quot; This had me feeling a bit more positive about Kurt, or so I thought. Kurt sent a worker out to my property today (Tuesday, 5/19/2014) around 4:00 pm with approximately 12-15 bags of mulch. The worker spread the mulch around to provide some additional depth, although it did not aspire to 2 and a half inches all around the perimeter but did make an improvement on several of the areas in the front. He also filled in the empty spot around the air conditioner that was previously left empty. He raised the cement scalloped edging along the front bush beds that was not done as promised on the initial visit. All in all I was now willing to call it even. When the worker was finished he handed me a folded piece of paper saying that Kurt asked him to give it to me. It was an invoice for $30.00 for additional labor. Returning to finish a job that was fully paid for and left incomplete then having the nads to bill me for additional labor? This is the height of unprofessional behavior and I of course will not pay his invoice.

Technically speaking, the terms of the agreement were met. Overall, however, I would describe the job as adequate, especially for the price. The owner was responsive when we questioned the quality of the job during which plants were bunched together rather than spread out with room for growth. He returned and moved the plants around in a more appropriate manner. Also came back and removed more weeds as the job was incomplete. I also found it strange that he charged an additional $91. for me to pay by check rather than cash. That is listed on the estimate, but is an unusual business practice in my experience. If this had gone well we planned to hire this provider to work on the back yard. We decided not to.

lack of communication killed the job.
Time line:
Received a call the day before scaduled service about moving the date due to workers being sick. OK no problem
Was a no show on the day of service and didn't receive a call until 4:47 pm about moving service to three days later. OK life happens..
I called back the next day and left a message about cancelling service due to timing.
They showed up at the house and started service and abruptly left, I called them and left a message to come back and finish and was happy to pay the original quote...
Have never received a call back to this day.

Kurt provided 2 workers who hand weeded our half acre lot with lots of flower beds. It took them a total of 2 days and they raked and picked every weed and leaf down to the dirt.I purchased 325 bags of mulch from Lowes which they also spread. The yard looks like a city park now.
