First of all, in oder to see the property you have to stop by their office, be fingerprinted and they provide you with a code to open a lockbox which contains the key to access the property. I found this scary for both the potential customer and for the owners of the place as no one from the company is showing the property. Watson Realty did not do their job before hand with the Homeowners Association to learn if they had requirements for the prospective tenants. It was after we completed the documentation and set the move in date when they learned that the Association needed to approve the Tenants. Good thing that the property owners paid for the application, as we had already paid for Watson's application. Upon notification that we needed to move out, Watson poorly managed the showing appointments, They will call and make an appointment and then will not show up, or call to re-schedule at the last minute. Beware of accepting additional responsibilities that are already disclosed in the contract. In my contract, it was clear that upon vacating the premises, Watson was to hire a professional carpet cleaning company and deduct the charge from the security deposit. Days before we left the property, Watson (Carla Robles) called and asked if we could take care of the carpets. We hired a professional company who came and cleaned the carpets; however, Carla then deducted the amount on top of us paying for the cleaning of the carpet. This is completely unacceptable. Carla has poor understanding of the Florida Landlord/Tenant statutes, and I had to continuosuly quote the Florida Statutes in order to show her that we had complete knowledge and understanding of our rights. I will not consider making business with this company again, nor I do recommend them based on my experience with them.
